Omg. This place is so awesome. Was feeling parched after my drive to here from work so I brought my straw water cup thing in to grab some water from the water fountain. The water was a little cloudy - no worries, I'm sure only weird people like me use it. I let the girl at the front know. I mean how else would they know? She apologized profusely. I only go here because they have nice beds and I live close by. If I did not live right around the corner, I would NEVER GO HERE. The people working there are arrogant and do not know what they are talking about. I use to work at a tanning salon at home and they completely BS you at Palm Beach Tan by telling you false things to get you to buy their products. Luckily they do not BS me anymore because I always call them out on it and I'm pretty sure they are afraid to get caught in their lies by me. ugh - how many times do you hear the line, "i hate this place, why do i keep coming back?" that is my relationship with Palm Beach Tan. it is seriously LOVE/HATE. i dont like the contract associated with tanning because i dont tan on that regular of a basis, maybe once a week, so id rather go to a salon where i can buy a bunch of sessions and use at my discretion. i have worked at a tanning salon, i did for a long time, i know every lotion they sell in and out and they constantly try to sell me bottles. i still receive a nice employee discount at my old salon because my sister works there so im not going to by a lotion with a 20%-30% markup, sorry. i also know how my skin tans. but i only know this from working at a salon. dont ask ME how long i should go, youre supposed to be the expert. i do not want to buy a contract membership, and i understand how much money i will "save." but just let me buy my single session and tan with my own lotion. read more

This place will try to take advantage of you whenever possible. I had a membership these last two summers (I don't tan in the sun due to health reasons and wanted to try spray tanning) and have been scammed out of money on multiple occasions, due to being lied to, or extremely poor training of employees, or perhaps a combination of both: 1. Summer 2016 when I signed up, the employee told me the membership package I should go for was the absolute best deal for what I wanted, only to find out later that I could have been paying $30 per month less for the types of spray tans I was getting - she had had me sign up for a membership with features I did not want or use. 2. I froze my membership at the end of summer 2016 and it was explained to me that the $7-8 per month I was paying while it was frozen could be applied to my membership when I unfroze it. This previous year I found out it could only be applied to a $30 or so reactivation fee (reactivation fee?? Was never told about this either) and the remaining money in my account could only be used towards products (I don't buy their products), and that they would be unable to refund me the remaining balance in my account ($46). 3. I cancelled my account several days before my monthly membership charge goes through and was then told I would be charged for a full month next month as well because apparently you have to cancel before the 25th of the month (again, never told this- apparently it's "in the contract"). This place likes to put baseless rules in their fine print to screw over their clients. I called my bank and had them block the charge. read more

I get tan in these beds... So they are great about changing the bulbs... But the staff the hire is awful. Rude, always on their phones, never smile, don't say hello until you greet them. I hate coming here, but they do have the best beds. Staff is terrible. read more

I go here for my skin cancer needs and have never encountered an unfriendly employee. Compared to other places I have been in the area, they are very helpful (especially when it comes to helping you pick lotions) and don't act like you are ruining there day because you want them to do their job. The fairfax location is alright but i definitely miss the Gainesville, VA location. I started going to this one because i live 2 minutes away. They only have 2 types of platinum beds while gville had 3/4 different types so i could switch up the kinds of bulbs, time limits and overall tanning experience. as for the staff, i used to hate tanning here because they were so rude and pushy but like someone else said, there is high turnover and the new people dont seem as bad in that aspect. all in all, it is overpriced but the beds are nice so it is semi-worth it. read more

Do Not waste your money in this location! It's run by snobby little snakes! They'll try to take advantage of you not knowing all their millions of packages and charge you for the most expensive walk in price. I started coming to this Palm Beach Tan over a year ago and love it! Great customer service. The manager Heather is always especially helpful when it comes to beds and lotions. There is a great variety of beds, and even the level 1 beds have facial tanning bulbs. The beds and store is always clean and there is usually not a wait. I love this coming here and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to tan. read more

I'm shocked at the horrible experience I just had here with Bre. It's unfortunate she is so rude because she's very pretty. I have an unlimited spray tan membership and had an issue with the versa spa, it doesn't work it just blew air.. she treated me as if she couldn't help me, as if I was trying to get an extra free spray tan, and as if I wasn't even standing there.. I waited inline behind so many people who got sent to spray tan booths after i had told her mine wasn't working... finally everyone gone, I guess it's my turn. She told me there www nothing she could do, she didn't know what to do ... I'm thinking huh ? Try the machine again.. or put me in another booth part of my plan or not part of my plan... finally she agrees to put me in a mystic, she goes and cleans it, comes back gives me the cartridge and sends me on my way.. not once did she tell me a room number with out me asking.. I get in the room, the booth is off, do not only do I have to insert my own cartridge (I've used mystic at countless other PBT and never once I had to do this all myself), but I also have to turn the machine on.. I turn it on, follow the steps, insert the cartridge and it doesn't recognize the cartridge... at this point I can't believe it!! I'm so upset. Long story short I took off work this afternoon to spray tan and go to the movies and because I spent 35 mins at PBT getting sent to unworking booths and ignored by the employees I have missed everything. I understand machines don't work, but have some manners, customer service skills, and be effing nice and not rude and un helpful. Had Bre been helpful or communicative and not ignored me and when she did communicate with me, had she been nice this whole experience would have been different. For FFS I find bugs and nasty things in PBTs all the time and don't complain.. read more

There are a lot of options here as far as tanning beds go, but they have the worst customer service. I've bought two different packages here and both times they have told me I need to pay some kind of ridiculous fee before starting up again. I called today to purchase a Diamond level membership and was AGAIN hit with the "you owe X amount of money because of (insert ridiculous reason here)." This is a chain tanning company who hires seasonal employees that don't know anything about tanning. I get you have to meet quotas and certain goals in this industry, but poor customer satisfaction equals less chance of doing so. I highly recommend finding a different tanning salon/company. read more

This place is AWFUL!! I joined 3 months ago and Mystic Spray tan was down and 3 months later, it is STILL broken!!! Initially, I was told they could not get service on the unit and now told part is on back order overseas. Save your money and join another tanning salon, as if a piece of equipment breaks, they will NEVER fix it. read more

I've never had a bad comment or experience until tonight. I was last in a few weeks ago and when I went in to do the usual I normally do and was told I could only do 6 minutes of the 10 I always do. It's very upsetting because I always do ten with no issues and was there only a few weeks back. I don't go often but never had an issue before this and everytime you walk in there the associates are always very pleasant and helpful and always tell me about deals/specials or packages going on at the time. It was in no way a pleasant visit and I paid $45 to be told I couldn't do my normal ten minutes that I always do. I'm sorry that's a lot of money to have such an unpleasant experience and I have never had a bad experience before. I've been going there for years. Paid top dollar for a months worth of tanning. Great beds, but I got darker after using the level 2 beds even after I paid for a level 3 package. Also bought lotion from them- don't make the same mistake. Order lotion online or buy in another store. They also charged me for an additional month even though I wanted just one. They said that I never cancelled my first month even though I said I only wanted 1 month. They should have cancelled it that day if that's the case. read more

Super clean and awesome beds!! The all staff are helpful and nice!!! Versa Pro spray tan is the best, comes out even and lasts a while :)

For unlimited tanning, it's actually a really inexpensive way to tan. The beds are always clean and up-to-date. Everytime I go in there they are putting in new bulbs or beds, which means a better tan! The manager, Heather, is really nice as well. She always helps me with lotions and/or upgrading when I need her to. Overall, I like Palm Beach a lot. read more

I have never been so disappointed in anything in my life! I went in there for my first ever spray tan. To make a long story short. Some girl took me back to a room, spoke a mile a minute and walked out. She left me there. I had to go back up front for someone to walk me through it. Then, after applying all the creams, the machine turned off! There I was in all my glory wondering what to do! So I had to dig out my cell phone call 411 (their number was not on the receipt) and tell them to turn the dang machine back on!!!! I was FURIOUS!!!!! My spray tan looks like a spotted owl! I WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish I read this page first before going! Read a review in the Post (my own fault!) and it was recommended. DO NOT GO THERE!!! THEY SUCK! And yes, very pushy about the lotions!!!! COME ON!! 9 bucks for a "sample" that barely covers your arms and legs!!! read more
