This location refused a coupon for no reason at 5:10pm 4/21/2026 after they refused I called the Palm Beach Tan closer to my house and was told over the phone by the other PBT there should be no issue honoring the coupon as it showed up valid on there side. There are incompetent children running this place with no manager in sight. I came in 30 minutes before closing and Abby told me to wait for the Versa Pro because someone in a tanning bed wanted to do that after. I waited 30 minutes and when it was my turn, Sterling came out to tell me that I won't be able to tan since it was now almost closing time. When I got upset, she told me that it's "just tanning and it's not that serious." When I told her that perhaps she should have another job if she doesn't take it seriously, she told me that she has a life outside of work and had to go. She also asked me why I was "bitching" at her and told me that if I didn't leave, she would call the cops. I have never witnessed such trash customer service. As someone who runs a business as well, I never leave bad reviews, but I am appalled with this experience. read more

I came here today to get my tan on in the exclusive diamond club room. However, my app glitched and my points expired 2 days ago. Compounded with that problem I lost my wallet on the plane a few days back so had to cancel my credit cards and only have cash for the week. The manager Katie was super helpful and went above and beyond to help this long time customer. I'll continue to come here bc of the fantastic people that are so accommodating and friendly. The blond short manager (I think?) is kinda an all time bitch and is mostly in a bad mood when you come into the store. I'm talking about her always having an attitude and increasing said attitude if you dare to ask her any type of question. She's always very short with you and get openly perturbed when you walk into the salon and she actually has to stop doing whatever to check you in. I would love it if she would just move on to something else so she wasn't around to inflect her toxic personality onto other people. read more

I love the staff here, the manager was the one who convinced me to sign up. She was very on top of it and quick with getting me registered to get me into the tanning room I desired. She was quick and efficient with explaining the policy & need to knows about tanning in the beds/ explained each bed to me/ and different tanning lotions what they do. I usually only tan here in the Spring to get a jump on my summer tan. It has always been a good experience: clean, fairly priced in my opinion, and gets the job done! However, I recently got a spray tan here for a special event in the winter and was very impressed! The girls at the front desk explained all of my options and gave me recommendations based on my complexion, hair, and eyes to get the best color for me. Between the primer, the bronzer, and the actual color, my tan was exactly what I wanted! And it lasted longer than I thought it would, a little over a week. Next time I need some quick color, this is definitely what I'll be doing! read more

The beds here at Palm Beach Tan in Fairfax are clean, pretty new, and seem to be well-maintained. There are standup beds and traditional ones where you lie down and pull the ultra modern lid over you like climbing into an escape pod in a sci-fi movie. There are many bells and whistles, Including a plethora of vents, buttons, and indicator lights. You can filter out damaging raise to your face by turning off the facial tanners on the higher end beds and adjust the amount of cooling air you want during your tanning experience. I should mention another great service at Palm Beach Tan - - the spray bronzer in either the versa spa, versa pro, or mystic tan machines. All sunless tanning options are state of the art and I have been able to achieve natural looking results matched perfectly to my skin tone in one visit. This comes in extremely handy during the holiday formal season or to cover up the odd tan line in the summer. The service is usually friendly and helpful when I visit. I am always asked if I need any additional products to accelerate, moisturizer, or touch up at home in between visits, but I have never felt pressured to buy. read more

I had an unfortunate encounter with Kate. I had been here twice up until I decided to switch things up and come tan in the morning. Kate was extremely rude to me. While I was waiting to be able to tan she had given another customer a nasty attitude too. So I'm glad to know it wasn't just me, it's her terrible attitude. I now know I will no longer be coming to Palm Beach Tan after my package expires. It doesn't matter how much money you spend here (more than $300 in the past month), Kate will still treat you like garbage and just like another number. read more

You would think a 3 foot sign in the window next to the front door advertising that spray tans are $20 when you buy a pack of three would mean that a 3 pack would cost $60. You would probably be surprised then when you are quoted a price of $120 for a 3-pack. You might also be surprised that you have to point out the gigantic sign to the employee that is serving you. A sign that has been up for at least a week and one she presumably walks past every day when she comes to work. To her credit, she was embarrassed and called her manager to ask what the deal was. Apparently this deal only applies to people with a certain level of subscription. None of this is mentioned on the gigantic 3 foot sign in the front window. This chain is a total joke. read more

I was looking for a new tanning place with better hours for early morning and late night, and I saw the hours of operation for this place, which I liked, and the coupon here on yelp and on the web-site both for 4 free tanning sessions for new members. I thought...wonderful, it'll give me a chance to see if I like this place. So I go in at 10pm and Janie, the Shift Leader, proceeded to create a profile for me. Then she says I already have a profile from a different location from 2006! It was a surprise to me, as I had no memory of it, but ok...I'm in there. Then she says because I'm already in the system, I'm therefore not a new member and can't use either coupon for 4 free sessions. I said, wait, I haven't been in 7 YEARS and you won't let me use these coupons?!? Ok, so if you want my patronage, what coupons CAN you offer me? NONE she says! Then she says they aren't losing my business if I was going to use the coupon for free sessions. She proceeded to kick me out of line because she had to check in the customer behind me. I am a very reasonable person...but I have never been treated so horribly EVER. Do they even understand what customer service means??? They get an F in my book...don't bother going here. read more

So, this review Is mainly for two employees here, Lexxi and Taurie. Both of them are really kind, super informative, and took a lot of care in what they did. I watched Lexxi deal with a really belligerent client who was yelling at her and actually stayed there longer to make sure she was okay. She handled herself gracefully even though she did not deserve that treatment AT ALL and still delivered a positive service experience for him. I saw him even stay and tan afterward. Taurie offered me a lot of additional services I didn't know to ask for and was able to get me the best and most affordable plan for the next little bit. They have a great selection of tanning beds at varying levels of magnificent vitamin D depositing beds and stand-ups, but don't expect great service unless you catch a manager. Rooms are always clean and there usually isn't a substantial wait as a result of having so many to choose from. For the Palm Beach chain - they have a great "stay and save" option for those of us with monthly memberships. When you don't plan to tan, you sign a paper to keep your account active with a $5 draft each month to keep your sign-up rate and the money earned accumulates. Good for a quick spray tan or on lotion when you resume. Seriously, make sure you do this, or they'll keep drafting your acct. the response i got from employee was "oops, we must not have told you". Yeah, you must not have... Convenient Fairfax location although parking can be tricky during evening dinner rush. All in the name of glorious, mood lifting fake rays! read more

The company is great. This location, however, not so much... The girls at this one are EXTRA pushy about trying to sell you lotions, girls I know you get commission off of this but no means no. Don't badger me. One girl even tried to make me show her my lotion like she thought I was lying when I said no thanks, I already have some. I got a monthly membership to PBT Fairfax because it's right down the street and the beds are decent. And that's as far as it goes. The staff is absolutely awful. On two occasions, I've been directed to a room and the bed hasn't worked. Once, I had to put my clothes back on, walk to the front desk, tell them it didn't work, go back to the room, take my clothes off, see that doesn't work again, put my clothes back on, and walk to the front desk again because the girls were unresponsive when I tried to ask from the room. More importantly, like many users on here, I find their pushy nature is so offputting. I understand how commission works, but no, I'm not interested in spending $90 on lotion or $20 on a sample packet. I wasn't interested the twenty times you asked me before, and I won't be interested the next twenty times you're sure to ask me. I've repeatedly been asked to show my lotion to them as if I'm lying, which is ridiculous. I have another week left on my monthly plan and won't be renewing after that. I'd rather drive a little farther and get better (and less pushy) service. (As a side note, seriously girls, I understand you work at a tanning salon and can probably tan for free, but there's no need to look like a flourescent orange highlighter. Their beds are the best and get you the darkest the fastest and when they're not busy, the service is amazing. However, it has taken me over an hour in there before. The bed was 10 minutes and then the spray was less than a minute. Why was it an hour when both the bed and the spray were unoccupied?!? There was one girl working and this happened three times over the course of my one month membership. The staff is super friendly and do their best but when there's 10 customers, its not possible for one person to take care of everyone. Better staffing would bring this place to a 5 star facility. I desperately needed to get some color before my upcoming wedding -- am by no stretch of the imagination a sun worshipper (ha!) and came by this place because it was around the corner from my apartment.... Must say I was impressed. The place is spotless and the girl who helped me out was really well spoken and walked me around the whole place, explaining each bed and booth before I picked a membership level that worked for me. Two of my friends and I went in the other day to do one time spray tans for new years, the girl working (apparently the manager) seemed to be nice and was offering us toner, primer and free after-care creams which was great until she told us that the total would be $58 each. We were in a rush and don't get tans too often so it felt off but after questioning it a little we just went to get our tans. When the (apparent) manager went back to help us set up our booths she became increasingly more rude and short with us, at one point telling us to stop talking and listen when we thought she had finished explaining and started to leave the room. After leaving and looking online we saw that tans usually range from $20-35 and we began to believe we were scammed. After calling today, a much nicer and more helpful employee explained to us that the price was correct due to the fact that we used toner and primer (items which we were not informed would be extra) but that we should have been told all the price options at the time. The tan was fine but make sure you're made aware of what everything costs before getting your receipt or you will leave feeling confused and scammed. read more

Aromatherapy? PLEASE!!! All the nifty little gadgets aren't anything compared to the results, though! Seriously. I had a little bit of a base that was fading fast, but a blast off in one of these babies put me back on track for my upcoming vacay! Now, if only the diamond membership weren't so dang expensive! I am drawn to their giant alien spaceship shapes and eager to see what other bells and whistles they have. To all of the customers who were put off by pushy sales staff - come on back! This is a very nice, very clean salon. Eyewear is provided. Specials are offered. Fantastic array of different types of beds. Hours of operation are great. Open until 11PM weekdays. I would give this salon 5 stars if the customer service was better. Although not the worst service I've experienced in this area from tanning salons, I've seen the manager or someone yelling at employees and customers. It was odd and unprofessional. Considering tanning salons in this area are pretty comparable, my main factors for choosing are price and service. I have been going to this salon for a little over a year now and have always loved it. The beds are always very clean and service is always fast. The beds are all pretty new, and there are a lot of types to choose from. Everyone here has always been helpful and informative for the most part about all of their products and services. The manager is definitely a tan fanatic, and won't let you go in long enough to burn yourself. The only thing I dislike about Palm Beach is that you HAVE to sign up for a monthly membership, otherwise the prices are outrageous. The Fairfax salon has a regular turnover. Every time I go in there I find someone new behind the counter. I am going to be out of town for most of July so I opted to Stay and Save but they neglected to tell me that I would be charged a fee anyhow..which I'd have gotten over if the girl on the phone hadn't TOLD me that she was SURE that I was told about the fee. The way she said it absolutely infuriated me. On the upside they aren't as pushy about the lotions as they use to be before the turnover....but I'm still really mad about how the spoke to me!!! read more

I went in just to purchase tanning lotion. Lindsey was very educated and helped me get exactly what I needed. Unfortunately they didn't have any eye protection but Lindsey went above and beyond and ordered them from another location. She went to pick them up so they would be at there store the next day. So I came to pick up my eye protection the next day. Hailey was there to help me and helped me pick out more lotions that I needed. They were both great and I will definitely be coming back to get anything I need for tanning!! read more

WOW. I come to the DC area once a month and decided to come to Palm Beach for a little sun before I went out. The staffer who helped me, Sara was very friendly but absolutely awful when it came to trying to upsell product. I was buying a SINGLE tan. I hve been to other palm beaches in ca and she didn't ask which one so she couldn't really look me up if she only checked one code. I ended up having to sign a new waiver etc whatever. I wanted one tan and she was trying to get me to buy a $20 1 oz "sample" it was horrible. No shame! I said no fuck. The manager was ridiculous. She was literally YELLING whenever she talked. She was rude and just horrid. The beds were nice and clean the staff was enough to make me think twice before going. read more

It's pointless to try and explain why you are unhappy with a service when it feels like it's talking to a child. You work in customer service. I've been coming here for a couple of months now. I love the staff! They're always friend and courteous. The rooms and beds are always clean. I've never had to wait for a bed I wanted for more then 10 minutes, and if it were a long wait, they would offer me a different bed that I might like. The lotions aren't crazy expensive. They provide the eyewear for each time you tan. Each bed has its own music with a few different stations. This is one of the best salons that I've been to! read more

I've been going here on and off for several years. I was put off by the pushy sales girls years ago (especially the previous manager!) Every time I went in there they would make me feel uncomfortable for not purchasing lotion or upgrading. I decided to give it another shot this year and I am glad I did! The current manager is super friendly and personable. Every time I go in there she has me in tears (laughing!) And her sales staff is equally as friendly. I never feel pressured to purchase lotion or upgrade as I did in previous years. Their prices are pretty high, so I opt for their silver membership, the cheapest. The silver beds are definitely lacking, so when I found out they had a summer promotion to upgrade two levels for a small fee and pay the same silver membership fee for three months, I jumped on it. The upgraded beds are definitely nicer and give a longer lasting tan. The only real complaint I have is that the music systems they have installed in each room do not work propertly. Only 2 of the 6 stations work and the volume is never working correctly. You can barely hear it over the tanning bed. Please fix this, Palm Beach! :) If you're looking for a new tanning salon, I would definitely recommend Palm Beach Tan. read more

So my review is not for this Salon as a whole, but for the experience I have had this past week. On 6/1/19 I went to the Salon for a spray tan. I have been a member since 2014. I was told by Bre that there was fee on my account that needed to be waived and she couldn't do it only a manager could, so I could not get a spray tan. I was disappointed, but I understand not everyone knows how to do everything, so I went home. On 6/2/19 I called and spoke to Carly who was very nice and she said she had waived the fee and I should have no problem the next time I came to the Salon for a spray tan. So tonight 6/4/19 I went to the Salon at 9:30 pm and Bre was working again. This time Bre told me I could not get a spray tan because she had taken all the spray tan machines apart and was cleaning them. The Salon closes at 10 pm, not 9:30 pm. I understand to the need to clean things, but why would you take all the spray tan booths apart while the Salon was still open for paying customers? It's ridiculous. So that is 2x in the past week that I have spent my time driving to the Salon only to be told that I cannot tan and both times Bre was working. Not once in the previous 5 years have I ever been turned away at this location. The one thing in common for both my experiences in the past week is Bre. She clearly does not understand that her job also includes customer service. I hope that this review is seen by a manager at this PBT location so this situation can be resolved with better training for Bre. read more

Really can't complain. Staff is always friendly, fast, and knowledgable. I've been a member with PBT for almost 6 years. I have been to a few different locations. All seem to work the same. Only downside to this location is the fact that something had or has happened to the stand up units. I don't even ask anymore if the stand up is available. Lay down units are sufficient. Would be nice to have variety which in some ways they do but you have to pay for upgrades. Clearly "they" have the business I want due to my long membership. read more
