She examined the mole and reassured me it did not show signs of concern. She then recommended that I see a plastic surgeon for the mole removal. For the melia, she explained the procedure and informed me of the potential side effects. Given the information I was provided, I took her recommendation to see a plastic surgeon. I paid $80. Unaware at this time how much insurance will pay or if I'll receive a follow-up bill. Ridiculous that doctors still charge when no service is provided. I reached out to friends, who previously had a mole or melia removed, for their plastic surgeon recommendations. They all came back saying their dermatologist removed their melia or mole, and they didn't see a plastic surgeon. I reached out to my friend, who is a retired internist. He thought a dermatologist should've been able to handle this. I could go to a second dermatologist but annoyed that I'll need to take time off of work again. I understand that I don't present with an exciting case, but I shouldn't have to hop around for a mole and melia removal. And I really find it distasteful that I was still charged and insurance billed even though no service was provided.

Dr. Bembry actually EXAMINED my scalp. Oh, did I tell you the last dermatologist didn't actually examine my scalp. Dr. Bembry actually examined my entire scalp, not only in my trouble spots. She did two biopsies because she seen the obvious! My scalp needs help! I haven't received the results yet, but I'm so happy Dr. Bembry is doing her due diligence to get to the root of the problem and she actually believed me and wants to help!
