Been going off & on for more than a decade at this location. Too many broken machines. My favorite suntan standup booth has had two burnt out bulbs for 2 months. I have been going to Palm Beach/Planet Tan for 15 plus years. The location for this review is @ 3685 Preston, Frisco, TX. I do not mind paying my monthly cost. In return I would like a machine that works. I use the Versaspa when it actually works. The location only has 1 Versaspa at that site. It works a couple weeks than goes out. This has been going on for 5 plus years. Palm Beach does not invest the money needed to fix or purchase a new one. I was told recently it was due to the previous manager. That is not true. I stopped in today 7/9/25 and once again the Versaspa doesn't work. I don't think the cause of the ongoing equipment issues is because the high turnover or bad equipment. Palm Beach does not want to invest in purchasing equipment that actually works. Palm Beach just wants you to keep paying for a membership you can't use. POOR SERVICE read more

I was at Palm Beach Tan and had to wait 45 minutes to check in and the person at the counter told me my account was negative ,I told her I was not negative but just to get my spray tan I was willing to pay just to get out of there. I scanned my credit card 4 times for a charge I should not be making and still wasn't able to tan.need less to say I was done with this place . There is no training for their employees. For some reason if you have a credit it shows as a negative, and it's not the first time this has happened. I will not go back to Frisco Palm Beach Tan ,when she called someone on the phone this person could not help her. it's a shame all you want is a spray tan and its just a headache trying to get one. Customer service is not hard ,but for some reason Palm Beach Tan just can't give it, save your money find a place that will appreciate your business. read more

Palm Beach customer since 1981. Perfect for that important event and starting bronze before any beach trip. For me as a natural red head who burns vs tan it is so fun to have a tan! However, I can not be more disappointed lack of leadership and standing behind products they sell. Not once, but twice I bought spray tan in a bottle and both times it leaked out before I could use it. The first time I was sold the product off the shelf and want to believe the staff did not know it was open. When I got home it was spilled all over my tote bag and into my car. The next time I let them know I wanted to take on airplane. They had new packaging and I was assured it would meet the need. However, It spilled all in my suit case and I did not even get to use as intended. After going to the store, emailing and even calling district manager, they refused to replace damaged product or offer ANY resolution. The spill damaged car, tote, clothes , suitcase etc, and I never asked for anything for the cost of cleaning and replacement of those items. If making 50$ is more important than a lifelong customer, something is seriously wrong here and it seems to run deep! read more

I had called yesterday on August 17th to see how many tans I had left and the sales person said I had 1 tan left. Then I drove from Prosper to this specific location because they have better equipment and the girl working today, August 18th (11:35am) said I don't have any tans left and they expired on the 19th. It's the 18th. Not professional at all. Palm Beach Tan isn't great. I've also had unfriendly situations at the prosper location. I will be using Sol Col in Frisco from here on out. read more

Visited this location today because I wanted to buy lotion during the sale that they were having and had to stop somewhere else in the area. I have never tanned at this location however when speaking to the gentleman that was working I was immediately off put. He seemed annoyed with me asking how much each lotion cost. My friend and I happily stepped aside for him to assist other customers because we didn't want to monopolize his time. Once the desk area was open again, my friend asked if the lotions displayed were the entirety of the inventory because she didn't see the lotion she had recently purchased at another PBT location. He responded by turning up his nose saying he didn't care that production because it was cheap. His attitude made us feel like our business was not welcome there because we were not in the market to spend $100+ on lotions. We left but it definitely put a damper on our afternoon. read more

Just got back into town, and went in to use the last few days of my three month membership. Was first informed that the upgrade package I bought has expired even though when I purchased it there was no mention of an expiration date. And how could there be since I bought five individual upgrades?! I'm not sure why that was even relevant given the fact that the very next thing I was told is that my three month membership had expired yesterday when I was clearly told that it would expire on 8 June. I then asked if I could speak to the manager who had sold me these items and was informed that she no longer works here! And it is so often the case with these types of establishments, the young uneducated employee, was oblivious to the fact that the situation required some type of effort to address the injustice done to the customer. Horrible business will never frequent any of their establishments again, and will make sure that everyone I know steers clear of them read more

I went into Palm Beach today because I saw the $14.95 offer. I met the "manager" Caleb... everything started off great, he was nice and good attitude, even complimented him on his tan and blue eyes. He showed me all the beds, then went over pricing. Caleb insisted that i needed to get the diamond package so i could have access to all the beds (which is obviously the most expensive) It being my first time, and not very knowledgeable of the tanning world, i apologized for taking time to choose which package i wanted and he reassured it was okay and he wasn't doing anything. I started feeling overwhelmed with the pricing, especially after he said "we haven't even gotten to the lotions honey" (which were all out my price range.) The longer i was there the more pressure i had gotten so i suggested that i sleep on it and think about what package i wanted, which is when the visit and his attitude went left. He basically dismissed me on the spot and said "have a good day" all because he didn't make the sale. I then proceeded to say "you don't have to get an attitude with me, i just want some time to think about it" and he said "i just wasted 30 mins of my time going over beds and pricing!" I then said "you told me it was okay because you had nothing to do, your customer service is horrible!" He continued to dismiss me by saying "have a good day" til i walked out. I don't think the owner of Palm Beach Tan would approve of this customer service or him representing the company the way he did. read more

I have already complained to corporate about this situation earlier today, but felt like fellow yelpers should be warned: I went to buy a single spray tan a few months ago. I was told my the Frisco store manager that they were running a special for 3 tans, which I initially declined due to frequently traveling. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use the tans in an adequate amount of time. The manager then told me that they "don't expire". With that being the case, I decided to buy the 3 spray tan package. Today, I went to the Plano Legacy Village location to use one of the tans, and was helped by their manager, Colby I believe. He told me that the tans DO in fact expire, but called the Frisco store to try to fix the situation. Not only did the Frisco manager refuse to fix the problem, I have yet to be able to get a hold of him after numerous attempts today. Due to my dissatisfaction, complete waste of money, and the feeling that I was basically lied to in order to make a sale by the Frisco manager, I would have had a terrible perception of Palm Beach, and likely would have never returned. However, the manager from the Plano Legacy location (again, I believe it as Colby) was so helpful and understanding, I will be continuing to take my business to their store. I genuinely hope that his excellent customer service is rewarded, and that the issues at the Frisco store are addressed. read more

My wife has had a membership with the Palm Beach Tan on Preston Road in Frisco, off and on for the past eight or nine years. And she always has had a difficult time cancelling her membership without the company billing her for the another month. It's always "Oh, you're too late to cancel for the upcoming month." Why? It's amazing how Palm Beach Tan's staff can sign her up for a membership with the lightning speed and bill our credit card instantaneously. However, when it comes time to cancelling your membership, then it becomes a difficult process and a goat rope. I just don't buy their excuses that she missed the cutoff to cancel her membership without getting billed for another month. I can guarantee you that if our credit card didn't go through for a particular month that Palm Beach Tan would immediately notify her that her membership was suspended until she paid up. They are just down-right unethical, and it's probably the main reason that Palm Beach Tan is not a member of Better Business Bureau. If they belonged to the BBB, then they would be held accountable for their unethical business and shady practices. Their Coppell location has 14 complaints, four of which concern their billing practices. My advice to anyone remotely interested in a two- or three-month membership to Palm Beach Tan is to cancel your membership immediately after joining, because that's the only way you'll be able to get out of your contract without being overcharged and ripped off.. read more

Horrible customer service.. I suspended my platinum membership in June paying the $7.50/mo in the meantime to basically hold that price.. Went today to start my platinum again to be told I had a $94 balance. When I asked why I was told she didn't know "the computer doesn't give us a reason or explanation of your balance". So I said "basically you want me to pay you $94 and you do t know what that's for?" She said my platinum was terminated by someone and the computer would not allow me to tan until the $94 balance of ?SOMETHING? was paid. Anytime I e ever spoken with Logan he is rude and condescending. I saw this duty him with 2 other customers previously. A poorly run business with horrible and incompetent staff. From the looks of other reviews- this is quite common. I'm sure losing me as a customer will be a non issue to you but I can assure you word of mouth may.. Morgan from PB Tan called me today to ask about my recent issue with this location. Once I explained it to her she was able to fully explain the "balance" I had and why. She apologized for how it had been handled and was able to rectify the situation. Whether the attitude of the staff will be as bad as it was before, I don't know but I appreciate a company who values their customers enough to take the time to at least try to make things better. I've avoided this location for over a year because of the bad Yelp reviews but overall I think this place is fine! My bed was clean, there was no wait, and the staff member was sweet. They didn't try to up-sell me on lotion or upgrades. I'll definitely head to this location again. read more

Nobody is tan here. When they get new bulbs, they scam you into tanning 5 mins in a 10 min bed and tell you some more BS that it's a law. No it's not, the owner is cheap and very poor business. They push BS lotions on you and tell you that's why you're not tan. No, I'm not tan because your bulbs are old and avoid this place at all cost. I'm canceling ASAP ! read more

I've had a membership for almost two years, and hardly ever use it--mainly because it's so incredibly frustrating to have to fight off the high-pressure sales. After a long day of working with clients of my own, the last thing I need is some kid condescending to me about how I'd basically be "crazy not to buy x-y-z package". I usually try not to purchase product from tanning salons either, because the markup is well over 150% (and that's not an exaggeration), and I can purchase the same name brands directly from the distributor, with my license. In spite of that, I STILL occasionally fall prey to the used car salesman tactics, mainly because I don't have the energy to defend my stance on why I don't want to buy their overpriced lotion. I've yet to visit this store and not be put in a bed with either burnt out bulbs or broken glass on the facial tanners. Most of their beds pop and creak like they're going to fall apart at any second, while in use. Kind of unnerving when cocooned in a device emitting UV radiation. The clencher was my visit today and the main reason for this rant. The ONE time I visit the store and actually want to make a purchase, over and above my package plan (ONE spray tan, I might add), I deal with Cheap Suit trying to sell me 4 for the nominal price of $150. Are you kidding me? Then he tries the '2 for $80' approach and finally irritates me to the point I have to EXPLAIN and JUSTIFY why I only want ONE session. His reply: "You mean to tell me you'll only use one spray tan in the next 30 days?" Yes, sir--that's exactly what I'm saying. After much huffy attitude, I finally convince him on the one session, to which he still tries to sell me a spray tan primer. Fine. Whatever. Just please stop pushing me. Low and behold, however, I present the debit card I've been using, for the past TWO YEARS, to not only pay for product, but my monthly fees are drafted from said card, when I learn, "it's their new policy, they can't accept it unless the cardholder is here to sign"--the card is in my husband's name. He was present when I first signed up and they have his signature on file. I reached my boiling point when Cheap Suit actually had the nerve to ask me to go to an ATM and withdraw money (and pay a fee!), just to buy the same service, at the same store, using the same method of payment I've been using all along. Absolutely ridiculous! As soon as I can find a decent store that isn't affiliated with Palm Beach, I'm out. Hooray, capitalism. read more

It's very rare that I EVER have a complaint about a palm beach tan. I have gone to palm beach for years. One of the reasons I love palm beach is because they usually have a great product and wonderful customer service. However the one on Preston was not my normal experience. I went to this one tonight because The one i usually go to was already closed. I used the mystic tan tonight. I went in and added a triple bronzer like I always do. The lady working asked me to put my own cartridge in. While the machine was spraying me I noticed it was very wobbly. It missed different parts of my body. Usually when I come out my hair net is brown and the bottom of my feet are brown from the bronzer, just the way I like it. When I got out, nothing was brown. I thought maybe it was the machine or maybe the lady didn't mix the triple bronze booster in well enough. I went to front desk and told her the situation. Her response was "You look darker to me." I told her that I'm usually much darker after the mystic. Her response " my manager used the mystic this morning and she was really dark a few hours after." Well it's Saturday night and I don't want to wait a few hours to be darker. That's why I get the triple bronzer boost. I like instant gratification! Lol Then the phone rang and a little girl and man came from the back. I realized she was probably trying to get out quickly as it was close to closing time so I just left still white. :/// I will deff make the drive to the sunless one or the one in mckinney tomorrow. My wife was pressured hard by the management of this facility to buy a package. She just wanted out of the store because every time she said "no thank you" to $200+ monthly packages... the pressure increased. When I called to speak to the person to discuss the matter, the male manager on duty got angry and talked over me when I was trying to discuss the matter with him. I told him I wanted to discuss the matter with the corporate office and asked him for his name... he hung up on me. I decided to leave it there. Based on other reviews, I'm wondering how long this place will last. Sad because its a great location for my wife. read more

Fabulous: Every time I walk through the door of the salon and see Caleb standing behind the counter, I am instantly happy. He greets me with the most welcoming of smiles and by name, which is huge due to the fact so many clients are coming and going. He consistently has a positive attitude and this incredible energy about him. He listens to what my goal is regarding color and how often I am tanning. If I feel I have reached a plateau, because of his knowledge of the packages available, beds and products, he makes the process of guiding me to an upgrade that suits my needs, seem effortless. I am extremely happy with the results Caleb has helped me achieve. No matter what my day has been like, when I leave the salon it is with a smile and quite often laughter. This place gives Palm Beach a bad name! The employees have no idea what they are doing and in my four attempts to tan there they had to get out a manual or call the manger for information. It almost makes you laugh they had to keep calling the manager....really?....the manager must be doing a horrible job training the employees or just lazy to have such uninformed, untrained employees. I was made to wait 12 minutes because my bed was dirty as she checked in two people, helped a lady with her membership issue and put a spray tanner, who checked in after me in his booth all while I waited! wow....really? I decided to cancel my membership (after years of tanning at Palm Beach) but was told of a salon that wasn't that far from where I moved. I went to the Salon that was suggested and I am currently still a Palm Beach member. I have never been to a more disorganized, dysfunctional, unfriendly Palm Beach in my life and I travel a lot! Never had a problem at Palm Beach & their selling. I have been tanning since I was about 15 & I still use Body Drench...anyway, just tell them no. You have lotion, etc. I pay 100.00 roughly monthly...I'm probably locked in & I never paid for a spray tan. I love the tan points & just used mine to buy headbands....I moved here in 2012 & tanned at all locations & they are pretty consistent. You go in, tan, & roll. read more

She went into detail about the difference between lotions and helped me pick the right one. She was very friendly and energetic. Love this location! Very convenient to everything on Preston, as well as my apartments. I am new to the area and so I used a free trial for 4 free level one bed tans. When I came in to redeem it the manager was very friendly and did not try to push me to immediately sign up for a membership- which ALWAYS happens at tanning beds. The level one beds are actually pretty nice and I got a decent base tan from my sessions in there. I only went about 15 minutes (out of the max 20 minutes). But I also tan very easily/well. Only downside is there is literally ALWAYS a wait for beds. I have even driven past a few times and skipped tanning because I could see how many people were in the lobby waiting. I usually have only had to wait about 5 minutes, but on one occasion I did way 28 minutes for a bed (I was quoted a 15 minute wait)- which was just ridiculous! I've seen other people enter the salon and leave based on the waiting time alone, which is disappointing. Other than that, the staff is always friendly, and very knowledgable! They have a nice range of tanning lotions and products available also! read more

I have been tanning here for a couple of years. The manager there Logan Paisley is by far the worst I have ever seen. He is very rude and the most un helpful person I have ever met. He even told me you don't have to tan here and I don't have to help you, who even says that in retail! I spend over $100 a month in membership fees and you would expect to be treated with respect. I recently made the switch to another location in Plano. The staff there are friendly and very helpful so refreshing, wish I would have made the switch along time ago. read more

I've gone here forever, and given them a TON of business. They have the monopoly in the area, so there's not many other options. If you don't buy a package, their prices are ridiculous! $20 for a package of lotion? You're better off buying your lotions on amazon. They were doing $10 spray tans on Monday, but they just took them away again so that's really annoying. I showed up to the Frisco location and she wouldn't honor the same deal from last Monday. It's hit or miss. Then I received a $50 credit for being a long-time member via email, but the girl said it was only good on a $100 purchase! I've also had 2 times where I froze my account for travel, and they emailed me a $25 credit for unfreezing. However, the credits never showed up on my account and then there were stipulations on what it could be used for. All of their "deals" are just money-making scams. I also had a girl at Frisco sell me a $100 lotion saying it was an intensifier for higher level beds, but when I brought it to another location she said it was just a bronzer but no intensifier. She tried to then sell me another $100 lotion. They seem to all be focused on their commission rather than actually caring about taking care of the guests actual needs. The beds are ok, and the place is clean. Just not impressed with them trying to take money out of my pocket every time I utilize the membership I already pay for. read more

Very disappointed. I've been tanning with palm beach for around 8 years and just tried this location because I'm with in walking distance of this location. It started with an insincere greeting followed by a scoff when I told Ryan at the front that I had an Australian gold product I brought with me to tan and that I wasn't interested in buying any. Then he took my name and asked if I wanted level three which is what I'm currently using and I told him yes, then he put me in a level one and didn't even ask how many minutes I wanted. I've never complained on a business before but I felt that the interaction was condescending and deceitful. On top of it all the "white towel" that was on the bed was dingy and had black eye make up smears on it. I don't think the sanitation standards are being kept up to par at this location, which is a shame since its in a nice area of town. Next I'll be calling the hot line! read more

The young male manager who pretends to work here is a total prick. No wonder all three times i have gone here it is like a ghost town. I asked him for a short term package like a week or a package of a couple of le el 3s or level 5s as i dont go often. Be said they didnt have any packages like that and only wanted to push membership down my throat. Mind u know one was there.. ghost town.. at 6:15 on a busy night. next day i went back and a younger guy said sure and hooked me up with a level 5 and spray tan package. I did the level 5 and then when i went back the next day the same prick manager was there.. i asked him since not one person was there if i could switch out my spray tan for another level 5 real quick being no one was there or using the level 5 bed. He wouldnt assist me nor work with me at all, as he was too busy texting on his phone on the couch. This is a manager mind u who obviously doesnt care about his customers...or lack thereof. He should be fired. The level 5 bed even costs less than a spray tan. He is a bitchy queen who needs to go to management school and learn how to treat the few customers he has left. I normally tan at the Palm Beach Tan in Lewisville but today I was working in Plano & hands down the worst Palm Beach Tan I've been to. 1) They only had one person working, so there was quite a wait to check in to tan. 2) One of the beds that a customer ahead of me requested wasn't working, and she stated "people pay so much money and they can't even tan in the beds they prefer", which is true, some people pay $75 + a month for their memberships. 3) the womens restroom was out of order, and the girl working said I "could use the men's, its clean"...it was far from clean, I opted just to hold it. 4) the ENTIRE store, including the tanning rooms were DISGUSTING! from the looks of it, seems like they haven't swept in days. I didn't want to take my socks off it was so disgusting. I wouldn't have believed they even cleaned the beds except I watched her clean it with my own eyes. The girl working was sweet, but some SERIOUS clean up needs to happen. If I were you, I would avoid this location and drive the extra few minutes to the location off of Parker or Legacy. read more

When I went to Palm beach shitty tan I was greeted not so pleasantly by Pamela Mathews who's suppose to be the a supervisor of some sort but to me she was an extremely horrible person and she was very rude. I will never tan at Palm Beach tan because of her and her staff. They were extremely unprofessional. Logan the manager was also very rude. The tanning beds were dirty and the lotions were over priced. This is the worst tanning place I've ever been to. Pamela Mathews is so horrible that I will never tan at Palm Beach Tan and I will never let any of my friends tan at Palm Beach Tan because she's such a horrible and unpleasant person. There are so many better places to tan where there are nice people to interact with. Unlike Palm Beach Tan. Pamela and Logan have the worst customer service skills ever!!!! read more

I wish I could chime in to a lot of the comments on here. I've had the same similar experience as a lot of people on here. Logan is extremely rude and passive aggressive. I am a platinum member. I bought what he recommended, but he tries to sell me something every time I come in, which is several times a week. He was so rude when I declined. To make a long story short. By far the rudest and most passive aggressive staff ever! He made me feel like crap when I came in today when I've always been polite.They just hired a female version of Logan.
