Be warned, they don't proactively tell you about the expiration period. After I bought 3 (while still standing at the counter), the manager said, oh they expire in 45 days. I told her I bought them for the "rest of the summer." She said she would change it to August 31 but that never made it into their system. I thought I called to ask if it could be extended 2 days to Sept 2 for Labor Day and the person on the phone said they expired August 15. I thought I was asking for 2 days. The "best she could do" was make it end of the month-- which I was already bought but was never recorded. Do NOT buy in multiples-- it's not worth the hassle. read more

Staff is always nice and I've never had to wait for a spray tan but I am disappointed about 2 things. 1. I was unaware that my spray tan package expired in 45 days. The sales girls neglected to inform me of that until after I bought it. They also were kinda pushy about selling me a membership even after I said I wasn't interested. 2. I've used the versaspa pro before at sun tan city and always loved it and it's always been flawless. However, at palm beach I feel the tan wasn't as dark and I ended up spotty. My back was significantly less dark than the front and my shins weren't very tan either. Their versaspa left the insides of my arms spotty twice. I follow all the spray tan rules very strictly, I have had many sprays before and I've never had this issue. The first time I just assumed it was me and let it go. The second time I went i asked the girl what i could do to avoid it the spotty arms and she said "all the booths spray differently" and that's was it. Overall the salon is nice and the staff is friendly but there's definitely something wrong with their versaspa booth. I felt scammed when I bought the package without them letting me know it expired but now it seems like even more of a waste when 2 of the 3 tans weren't very good. I still have one more but I don't know if I'll even use it now. read more

I've been a member of this salon for many many years. Never has there been such ridiculous policy when it comes to minutes allowed to tan. My past visit (Sept or Oct) was my last due to the rude and condescending attitudes. I left a bad review after that visit and the regional manager (I think that's what she said she was) called and was equally as unpleasant. She was not calling to smooth things over as a manager should, she made things worse and was extremely condescending. Very, very poor managerial skills. They wanted to keep me at 6min bc I hadn't tanned in a tanning bed lately, yet I had color as I live at the beach and spend a lot of time outside and on a boat. The excuse was indoor tanning hits deeper layers, blah blah blah. I paid for the upgrade to a higher bed for only 6 min use. I got NO color that day. Went back the next day and was told my "file" had been flagged to not let me tan more than 6 min. What? Why? I believe that this is how they intend on cutting corners. Full price for less minutes. Saves on bulb usage. Now I have a high number of "tan dollars" built up, but I refuse to tan here. If I cancel my membership, tan dollars are gone. I guess I will go in and buy the incredibly overpriced lotion with those dollars and cancel my membership when I get a chance. read more

First time at location Huntersville. No parking plus a pipe busted so you have to walk through mud to come inside. So go inside and mystic is taken but versa is available, ok I'll do that, it will be $8 and change. What? I pay monthly membership for spray tanning. Well you don't pay enough to have the new stuff/good one. What? I pay $50 a month for ALL SPRAY TANNING. First they cut their hours and now you can only do the old machines unless you pay more on the spot? This company has become greedy! Super disappointed! read more

Honestly, this place is overpriced for garbage. They regulate your tanning. Don't allow full time until you've been there at least 5 times. It wastes your time and money. While the staff was very nice I honestly feel like I got ripped off, and they couldn't provide an itemized receipt. It was disappointing to select a package that's 80, with a coupon for 39.99 and it come out to over $100. The math didn't make sense and the only explanation I received was it was a NC tan tax. So basically the tax was $60. All in all I paid $160 which was absurd. read more

I've already experienced terrible customer service here in the past. But today I tried again with hopes things are better. Nope. I popped in just for a single tan. I told the girl I wanted to do the open tan bed she said it's 25 then she pulls up my account and says oh it's 33 since it's a single session. I say ok whatever it's fine, give her my card. Then she asks if I have eye wear, I tell her no but I'll buy the winkies single use eye wear and she says they don't have them and they only give them free once. So I'm like, hmmm okay that's weird...first I'm not asking for them free and with a bed single use for that price you think they would offer them free. But that aside I was willing to pay for them and she says no they don't even have them so unless I buy the other pair I can't tan. Lol. Look, I get you have to make sure the customer protects their eyes! That's a must. But to not even have or offer the single use eye wear?! That's ridiculous. Taylor the manager is super sweet and helpful! I was getting a spray tan because I cannot lay in the bed due to skin cancer. She made sure my tan was just the way I imagined. I have told everyone about this place. She also went over everything in detail when to cancel etc and even highlighted important dates on the paperwork. This was only my second time getting a spray tan. The gentlemen at the counter was very nice and convinced me my experience would be wonderful...well both my hands and feet are orange and he told me they wouldn't be. My arms are splotchy and just overall my spray tan is horrible. Now I have to go purchase something to remove my tan when I already spent $40 to get this tan. I will never get a spray tan again. Terrible experience at the Huntersville location...one member of the staff was extremely rude for absolutely no reason, I shrugged it off to try to give her the benefit maybe she's having a bad morning but she kept speaking with attitude to me and when I was leaving she verbally attacked me, I finally turned around and said excuse me, what is your problem and she still continually responded in a rude manner....don't know how someone can be rude to a stranger right off the bat but will NOT be going back to this salon or giving any more of my money to a company who employs such people. This is a customer service oriented job/position so the employees need to be trained or at least this one girl needs to be reminded how to talk to customers. Pay over $80 month for diamond bed but body bulbs still not changed! Very frustrated to have to drive out of my area to another location. Also bought lotions last year that had expired in June. This is not a good pbt! I've been a member a long time to many but I do not like this one at all!!!! It's been weeks I called again and again the girl says they have the bulbs & she knows those need to be replaced but quote it takes 2 people so they can't do it. (Always girls standing behind counter gossiping though) Again I pay about $84 a month for diamond level and as this is the only diamond level bed I expect to something done. I've asked & I have complained. The bulbs are there she said and I'm saying how about pay someone to put them in if u don't know!!! This is totally unacceptable. The other people at other locations say this is the worst one and they don't go because the girls aren't nice . Well I don't care if they r nice or not all I want is a bed that works right and if I'm paying for the best one it should work properly. Don't tell me to email u my issues !!! I've complained for months and everybody says we have them we just don't know how to change or it takes 2 people. Well the girls can stand around & talk about there private lives they should be able to get 2 of them in there and WORK AND CHANGE THE BULBS. There are 4 of us that I know of that are diamond level and we all go out of our way to the other location. The other one only has one too and we usually end up waiting on one another and thinking how stupid we can't use the one in our own neighborhood! Why pay for a premium bed that is old bulbs and new ones sitting in the store for months because they won't change them! Why won't the owners listen to our complaints!!! I am not very happy at all with this location. They are very pushy about selling and upselling even when you tell them specifically what you want. I moved and they would not refund my $8 a month that had been deducted from my checking account. There was no location where i moved to and i do not plan on coming back to use these "tan dollars". I have been coming here for years but that didnt matter at all to the manager, no customer service skills at all. How do people like this even own franchises. They wont for long because customer service is #1 and word of mouth from happy customers is what you want for your franchise not unhappy customers. Manager said it was a "corporate decision" that is so lame because when you manage a franchise the manager can still do what they want when they want to make customers happy. I have been to a few Palm Beach Tan locations in the Charlotte area before, but this is definitely one of the best so far. I was a little hesitant to start up again, because I haven't always had the best experience with my membership, etc., at other locations, but the staff here was so great and friendly that I had no reservations about signing up again. Erin was the person that helped me at the front desk and she was awesome. She was very friendly and knowledgeable. She pretty much covered everything from head to toe. She even gave me a refresher on the Mystic Tan, which a lot of people won't bother to do if you have done Mystic before. Everything was clean and they even had baby wipes to use for your hands and feet afterwards. I did the light spray tan to start off and it looks great. I will definitely be going back to this location and will continue to get my spray tans here. read more

I mainly spray tan and have been to another PBT facility and more often than not, the supplies you needed were not available, which got really frustrating. That has never been the case with this PBT. The staff is attentive, the facility very clean and they are always well stocked. I tried spray tanning at another non-PBT salon and was not nearly as happy with the result. I am very glad to have a location so convenient to where I live. read more

SESSIONS EXPIRE!!! BE WARNED!! And no one will tell you that when you spend over $80 on just 6 tanning sessions that they expire in less than 60 days!!!! I only used three of those session before they expired!! I even said to the airhead when I purchase the 6 sessions that I was going to use some now and some for holiday time. Not one mention that they would expire long before that!! Never using palm beach again!! What a rip off!! They are expensive to begin with but I have never heard of sessions expiring that quickly!! Worst location. I pay over a $80 a month and have been a bpt member for yrs. This location is closest for me yet I have to drive out of my way since they never changed the body bulbs in the diamond level bed. I've been a member over 4 years and this is the worst location. Each week they say they will change but they don't so I hit the traffic to go out my way to another location. Also I bought lotions last summer in August that had expired in June. We all know how much they cost . I should've ordered cheap online if I wanted expired product. Look at your dates before buying . When I complained they said awe sorry. No exchange no money back . Called again today they say they have bulbs can't change them. Really. Oh I pay a lot of money for top of the line tanning bed and each week for months they say next week .
