Ummm...ya I don't think so!! I had a coupon for a free tan and hesitated going in just based off of reviews for other locations but then figured hey since it's "free" why not? I should have know better since technically nothing in life is "free", even though we are talking about ONE SINGLE TAN, so here's how they go about getting your $$$ even with your "free" tan... (Mind you there is no fine print on the coupon which two ratchet looking girls were handing out in Huntington Beach), you walk in to be greated by a girl who immediately reminds you of a shady used car salesman, she gladly takes your coupon and politely asks you "how dark would you like to be?" then tells you the color chart, I said a 3, then out of nowhere POW "that'll be $23.50 :D"...wait what just happened?? "Oh the coupon is only good for the lowest level/shade and you said you wanted a 3" WTF how about telling me that PRIOR to asking me how dark I wanted for the supposed ONE FREE tan?? They try to bamboozle you for more money or to sign contracts, I've had many many memberships at tanning salons and one thing I've always learned is that the ones that don't force you into a contract are always the best. Don't be a fool and sign anything locking you into 6 months to a year at some shitty salon, there's a reason they want you to sign a contract and trust me it's not to save YOU money. Even had this incident not happened I still would not choose this business as my home to tan, the girl working this day was super obnoxious and treated other ELDERLY first timers like they were morons when they asked about the difference in beds and packages. Went to the Orange location and I must say it is a beautiful location, but it was a horrible experience having to deal with one of the employees with the name of Jen, she was very rude, didn't smile not once and wouldn't even lift her head to look at me. I decided to travel to the Costa Mesa location and I had a very pleasant experience with the employee with the name of Caitlynn. I will keep traveling the distance to the Costa Mesa location and it will be well worth it to not have to deal with unfriendly staff. read more

Very difficult to deal with and impossible to get your money back when they mischarge you. The staff has no authority to make any decisions. My advice is to never sign a contract with them, they have no customer service at the corporate office to call you back. Their email system is fraudulent and does not work. I am so glad that they have transformed this tanning salon. The mystic that is now in this salon is unbelievable. I never used to be a fan of the mystic tanning but now I am. There is also a sun angel here which I have never heard of until Palm Beach Tan came around. This company is obviously very up to date when it comes to tanning. The girls here are very knowledgeable and perky and they make me feel at ease if I ask them a question about anything I do not understand. Honestly I would think about spending your money elsewhere. Respectfully, in my opinion they are not as organized as they should be for being so corporate. The turn around rate for the girls working here is every few months, so they are constantly hiring new girls who aren't trained properly to use the machines and computers leading to a line out the door of frustrated customers. Every time I have come in here I have had to wait at least 40 minutes for a spray tan because the girl at the counter is so overwhelmed with customers and the girl cleaning beds doesn't have enough training to get on the other computer and help her and the manager has already left so the girl at the counter keeps having to call her to ask her questions. They are also a hard sell company, so they are constantly trying to sell you things. I get it, it's a tanning salon and a lot of their money comes from sales but personally, I can't stand this (from any company) and feel like it causes the staff to be so impersonal, constantly trying to kiss your butt to make you buy things and being visibly upset when you say no (because they get more shifts when they sell more and less when they don't). I've seen girls try to sell someone with a diamond package and lotions, more lotion, "You know you should really check the expiration date on that," "if you leave it in your car it's no good," "it's always good to have more than one lotion because if you switch up lotion between tans you will get a better tan," "You can't buy lotion off Amazon! They are all watered down!" "You get what you pay for." I always try my best to keep in mind that it isn't their fault that they are so pushy and that their shifts rely on it, but it is so irritating for me to watch them literally take advantage of vulnerable customers and tell them nonsense to get them to buy more. As for the beds they are nice but give you the same tan you'd get anywhere else. The ones that are new and aren't left over from SunDance like the Sun Angel and most of the diamond beds are pretty cool, give you an awesome tan and in my opinion are worth the money but not the wait (usually about 30 minutes if you come after 7 on a weekday). They tell you that that the silver beds take like 7-8 times to build your tan and you have to come 5 times a week to maintain it.....what! Not true at all (another technique to make you spend more on higher level beds). My mom used the silver beds here once a week and maintains her tan and it took me about 5 times in a silver bed to see great color and about 3 times a week to maintain it (I'm a fair skin color). Mind you I only used silver beds because I paid for a diamond and no other beds were ever open unless I wanted to wait for 20 minutes. I just think Palm Beach Tan, especially this location, needs to put more effort into correctly training their employees and not stress them out about their sales as soon as they get hired so the girls can learn to give appropriate customer service in a fast-paced store and people aren't leaving the store ticked-off. I, for one, will not come back to this location or any PBT because it's always a stressful and aggravating experience and I don't agree with their hard-sale techniques as good business practices. I go to a tanning salon now where I pay 24 dollars a month, don't wait to tan, am able to have a conversation with the employees where I don't feel like I'm forced to buy something and honestly and truthfully get a better tan than at PBT. read more

I went here for the first time a few weeks ago before a Vegas trip. When I called they were really nice and helpful. I usually get spray tanned by a person so the machine process was new for me. When I went in they walked me through it and made me feel really comfortable. I'm super pale white so I'm always really nervous when it comes to sprays because they can come out really orange on me. But they recommended a specific tone for my skin. Also they have a scent they put into the tanner and it smells really good which is awesome cause the fake tan smell is usually my least favorite part. Anyways they recommended I use the bed for 5 minutes to warm up my skin and then do the spray machine. Everything was really good. It came out nice and I'll definitely be back! I can't remember the managers name she was a blonde girl and she was super nice. Also the girl who helped me with the spray tan machine was super sweet. Great experience at PBT. I have been here several times and had nothing but great service. I've used both the versa pro and mystic spray tan machines, and both came out looking natural and great. I recently just tried sun bed tanning and also had a great experience. The membership process was easy and fast. The staff were all very helpful, as it was my first time. I decided to give this place one more try after my terrible experience last time as I purchased two spray tans and one was going to expire soon. The website and voicemail both say the store opens at 8:00 on Saturday's and in reality they don't open til 10:00 I waited 55 minutes to get a spray tan and both machines ended up breaking so I wasn't able to tan. The staff had no idea how to handle the situation and said their manager only comes in on Monday. The staff said that this happens a lot and they couldn't do anything about it. They refused to give me a refund or any sort of compensation for wasted time and broken machines and not receiving a tan after I paid for it. I was told I would receive a call from a manager that afternoon, Saturday 8/12 and never got a call. I called yesterday to talk to someone about getting my money back and let them know I never received a call and they told me again that they couldn't help me. It's now Monday evening and I STILL haven't received a call. Apparently this place is all about taking your money and refusing to provide the promised services. I've never received worse customer service than this. All I want is my money back and they're refusing to give it to me. read more

The girls were always nice and the place is clean. That's where the good ends for me. I got the basic membership. The bed does almost nothing. Which they tell you so you will purchase the more expensive membership. So don't waste your time with the $19.95 membership. Four days ago I went in to cancel my membership (which you have to do in person because they want to make it hard on you). Their computers were down. I gave them my name and number asked the manager to call me. No call. Called back next day. She was gone. Gave my name and number again. No call. Went in today. The manager said she called 3 times. I asked the number. Nope wrong number. Finally got it cancelled after 4 days of trying and 2 visits. Oh and I have to pay for another month because they can't control the billing. She apologized for her employee writing down the wrong number...... twice. Hmm. Well that's interesting since I get text messages from your store for promotions. Even got one last month at 1 am for a @10 spray tan. Thanks for waking me up for that! I guess you didn't bother to look at my file. Im getting ready to tan for a much needed Vegas trip and came to this location as a recommendation from a friend. As i walked in i was greeted by a young lady-who i later found out was the manager Gallena. She gave me a quick tour of the place and explained how eveything worked. We walked over to the counter to start the payment process. Long story short we both had a miscommunication and misunderstanding that really frustrated me. Not going to go into details, but i was BEYOND impressed how Gallena, the manager, went about handling the situation. If i had to define excellent customer service it would have to be this place and her. She could have handled this another way, but she didn't. She was very respectful, gracious and super sweet from start to end. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a spray tan AND more than great customer service...ill return in a month or so to write another review. read more
