Very friendly staff and very helpful staff. They also have great deals. However, I am skeptical about their red light therapy. The red light therapy brings you into a regular tanning bed that has a slightly pink tinted bulb. It does not look like the real red light therapy bulbs that actually help with wrinkles and weight loss. read more

Came here on 8/6/23 to inquire about monthly tanning options. Upon entering we were warmly welcomed by a customer service team member named Christine. Christine answered all of our questions and then gave us a few different options. Seeing how this is our first time using a tanning facility, we decided on the Platinum Membership package that includes unlimited tanning for 1month. So my wife will have 1 month unlimited tanning to see how she likes it and how well it works. After the 30 days it ends on its own and there's no ongoing charges and such. No long term contracts per Christine. When it ends, it ends. Easy breezy!! The facility was very clean, well lit and very inviting. And who doesn't appreciate stuff like that. I've been coming here for nearly a year. I found them on Groupon while searching for infrared saunas. I love how clean the individual saunas are! It's a huge pet peeve when you see someone else's sweat stains - gross. They give you a cool face towel beforehand, which makes me feel like I'm in a spa. I also like Sam, who works at the front desk. She's so warm and friendly! I'm waiting for the Fourth of July to buy another pack of sauna sessions (hopefully on sale). read more

I used to come here all the time and I was always pleased with the results. I was gifted a month pass for my birthday and I've gone 5 or 6 times in their "best bed" and have not got tan at all. I use lotion as well. It's best to get your lotion somewhere else because their samples are $12. I know that gift wasn't cheap and I'm dissatisfied. read more

Love this tanning salon! It has taken me so damn long to find a place I love and i'm never leaving. The salon is always clean and the gals are so friendly. When I moved to Huntington Beach, I tried to scout new locations for tanning and nobody had anything great to offer until UCATAN. Before I found them I was still driving to Pasadena to tan and the drive was getting to be a bit too much just to tan so I was on a mission to stay local. They have great beds for all levels, offer stand up, red light therapy and infrared sauna. Ummm, you can't beat that! Plus the prices are great. I absolutely LOoove this place! The location off beach and Garfield. They always know me by name and then they have my bed assigned and ready to go even before I enter into the salon.. However their manager:, Madison ; is unfortunately not as friendly and not welcoming at al. No smiles no nice warm greeting,, simply put-- she unfortunately makes me feel unwelcome and that she hates her job or that she literally wants me or anyone who comes into the salon to turn around and walk out. And I would do just that except I don't allow people to taint my decisions or my attitude with their bad customer service etiquette. I personally work in customer service for a living nd making pleasant conversation or connections with dealing with the public.is necessary for customer retention. Everyone who lives in Orange County knows that tanning places are a dime a dozen. You have to dig through the masses to find a good one. This place is great. The people who work there are super friendly and helpful. It's easy to get in and out and outside of the Versa machine being hit and miss sometimes, it's a great place to get your glow on. I use the spray tanning services exclusively. I am the type of person who looks like Hell without any color so it's a need for me to come 1-2 times a week. I used to be in the sun and tan all the time but have to spray now so it's important for me to find a good place that just doesn't treat it like some secondary thing. I love it here. I have been coming here a few years now. The staff is so sweet! They are all attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable on their products. The cost is fairly reasonable, and they stayed open during all this COVID BS after May 2020. The check in after COVId days are one call in the parking lot, and/or (do not quote me in this) but they might be making appointments on most services now rather than just walk in. There are always specials on lotions. And I have learned when their busy hours are so I usually do not wait. But peak season it's a roll of the dice and lucky to not wait. I like it here. read more

To be completely honest. This place is whatever. The beds are always clean. However I do wish they provided towels in each room...why wouldn't you? And the music in the beds could be improved. Also the Asian girl at the front desk has a shit attitude. I would be so embarrassed to have someone with her lack of basic customer service skills working for me. I called to "check in" like I always do. She immediately put me on hold. Didn't even ask. So then I walked in. She ignored me didn't greet me. So I stood up and asked "may I check in" "Give me a sec"is what she replied with. I asked for bed 4. Bed 4 was occupied. So I said I'll wait. She cleaned it once the other guest left. She then said sorry someone else called in for 4 so you can't have that bed. I said I called and I waited. I'm here.... So I then took a different lower level bed. Unbelievable. I really like the people I like the services but I had a problem with their corporate. My wallet got stolen and I had to cancel the card that my account was on so when I showed up I wasn't allowed to use the services which is fine. When I got a new card and re-registered they try to start my membership from the original date which only had a week left in that month. They wouldn't allow me to go during that time but they wanted me to pay for it. If you think this is a 50-50 confusing situation I specifically asked the workers if the date would start fresh again once I got my new card and I clarified it and was ensured the date would reset. It's not my fault their employees were misinformed had I known this I would've acted very differently or they should've allow me to use it within the grace period. read more

The staff greeted me with a horrible attitude (newer girl) and told me I had to go back outside and call after I had previously checked in the week before inside. AND, apparently a shirt that covers your nose, mouth, chin, chest, and stomach isn't good enough even though I saw people come and go with a mask covering only their mouth entering and exiting. Ive been going to this place for probably 2 years now. I am super paranoid about aging so I spray tan. This place makes my tan look natural and it is pretty cheap. I paid for a package deal. I think the package was around $80. The spray tanning machine gives me an even flawless tan. I love it! the only downside is that its pretty scary inside. It's very loud and dark. Love it - Every Sunday $10 mystic and or $10 sauna for any non-members. I like to mix the accelerator + bronzer with scent in with my tan. By far, THIS PLACE IS THE BEST TO TAN. Their beds have got to be one of the best if not THE BEST beds I've been in. I use room 21, the stand up machine. And I tell you, I get color in one session which is awesome and amazing. Their bulbs are top notch. I always get in when I drop by, never waited and on top of all that, Lucy, sherry and Danielle give excellent customer service. Which is rare in tanning salons. I normally don't even interact but these gals def make my experience that much better. I love this place, but unfortunately, have to think twice now before going. I recently went to my dermatologist for yearly check and my Doc found two Warts on the back of my calves. Doc said, either you got it from your tanning or the gym most likely AND I don't go to the gym...Im bummed. I hope all the sweet Gals working there are doing their diligence in cleaning the tanning beds with a GOOD disinfectant. Thankfully Doc burned them off my back calf, but he says they're very contagious and if I continue my love of tanning beds, it could happen again. To start off... I'm very very pale... the kind of pale that after 5 minutes in the sun turns blistering red and peels and turns back into pasty white once again. Anyway, a co-worker of mine would always come in with this awesome tan, and every time I would tell her how nice it was and ask her where she went. She recommended this salon a few times, but I, being the skeptic I am, (and total scaredy-cat, fearing I would turn a horrible color of bright orange) waited until now to finally give it a try. She had recommended going on Sundays, because they have a $10 special, where you can get any tan for only $10. I figured why not, it's now or never right? I have a 50/50 chance of it looking nice or wanting to wish I had never been born. I opted for the spray on Mystic Tan, knowing it would be better than the beds and it would give me instant results. The girl at the front was pretty helpful, she led me back to the private room, where she explained the process of undressing and getting in, and how to stand to get an optimal tan. What she didn't tell me, and probably should have, is that there is no warning before it starts spraying. You have about 2 seconds from the time you press the button until you get into position to start being sprayed. She also didn't tell me (and this is a huge one) is to try to hold my breath as long as I possibly could. As soon as I felt the spray hit my face, I was instantly shocked, and then took in a breath, along with some nice tanning solution.. so my insides I'm sure a nice golden brown as well. And, finally she also forgot to demonstrate how to towel off. I, being a first time spray tanner, thought to only pat dry because I did not want to wipe off the tan. However, after coming home and reading some info about the mystic tan, it was clear you are supposed to wipe off just as you would after you shower. When I exited the booth, and put my clothes back on, I didn't notice much of a difference. However, as the day progressed, the tan started getting darker, and darker....and darker... specifically on my face. I started to panic, as the tan s tarted getting darker, I looked more and more like a bum with dirt smeared all over my face. As much as I wanted to immediately rush home and jump in the shower, I decided to wait out the 4 hours, as recommended and then shower. Those 4 hours couldn't pass fast enough, but as soon as they did, I hopped in, and scrubbed my face as much as I could. When I got out, I was happy to find that my face and body were a pretty golden brown, something I'm not used to seeing on my pasty white skin. I was impressed. My co- workers even noticed and complimented on how "healthy" I look. I will definitely be going back, now that I know there is a learning curve to tanning, hopefully next time will go a lot more smoothly and with less panic afterward. I took off one star for the girl not explaining the process thoroughly enough, but she was still pretty helpful all in all. As I mentioned above, try going on Sundays, any tan is only $10, not a bad deal! read more

I wrote one review already, but I must say again how disappointed I am with their customer service and especially Danielle!!! So when she found out about my yesterday's review, she said I can no longer come to sauna. So, I came to get my service and I was pretty much kicked out. She also said, that if I will not leave the premises she would call the police!!!! This is after I bought membership and paid additional $200.00!!!! To be able to come twice a day!!! I have never been treated so poorly anywhere in the world, and I travel quite a bit. I was in California for a very short period of time and wanted to use sauna just for a month, and this is what I had to deal with! I suffer from a chronic sinus condition, where sauna is the only natural way that helps me stay sane. I came here to get better and relax and that's hat I got. Anyways- I managed to get my last session after several phone calls back and forth. Waiting for my money back. I didn't do anything for Danielle to call the police, I only wanted fair human behavior and proper business etiquette from U CA TAN. Wow!!! Very poor. One is for sure- Danielle would never have w place in my business. Certainly not as a manager. I am not even sure why, she is on this position, perhaps related to the owners? But if not- I don't understand how could they even let something like this at their place of business. Just really, very very sorry I had to go through this and even write this review. Woman to woman should do quite opposite from what just have happened! For all of you who want to go and have sauna experience- go for it, it's extremely beneficial. It's a place where you should be able to relax, renew and replenish. Very good way to love yourself and treat yourself with love. I am sure Tamara will give you best experience ever! She handled this difficult situation with grace and professionalism. Danielle it would be nice if you can take a breath when you talk. Bad manners! Zero ability of having conversation. The fact that you have been working in this place for so long, doesn't make you right. Or maybe - you have been working for too long and customers irritate you. Time for change? I have been a member at U-CA-Tan for many years now and have never had a issue with the beds or the service. I only knock off a star because they do not have mirrors or trash cans in any of the rooms. I have the unlimited package since I take full advantage of the infrared saunas and red light therapy that is amazing for any skin conditions or even chronic pain issues. I had been going here for a couple years and then just didn't want to keep up with it anymore so took a little break. I came about a couple months ago and am so happy I did. What an experience. Needed a nice even tan for a friends Monday night wedding. (I was maid of honor) So in my regular "never think to try something ahead of time" fashion I went in on Sunday to get my tan. Mind you I've never done a spray tan before. But heavens forbid I be this white walking down the aisle. Kinda like the time years ago when I was in another wedding and decided on the way to the rehearsal to go and get my underarms waxed for the first time. Walked around like a guy on steroids the whole night cause I couldn't put my arms down. Yeah. That's me. Smarty pants. Anyways the girl at the counter was super friendly. Patiently explained the process to me. Showed me how to stand, rub down and how to make it last. 5 mins later I'm out the door. That fast. So you walk in to a little sauna like room. Strip down to your birthday suit. Put on a pair of goggles and a shower cap. And then put on a thick lotion in places that are dryer and absorb more spray. ie elbows, feet, hands, knees etc. You stand facing the spray, spread everything and lean backwards (so it gets everywhere, gross), hold your breath, get sprayed....flip around for the backside, lean kinda forward (again so it gets everywhere), get sprayed.....and your done. SO. Important part. The wipe down. They say just pat yourself. Don't rub or you'll rub the spray off. And IMPORTANT is to look for drips. I kinda let myself air dry for a bit while looking for drips. They're totally cool about you taking your time. I went home thinking wow. I don't look that different. Bummer. 2 hrs later some friends came over for dinner. The husband instantly asked me if I'd gotten a tan. Yes I replied proudly. This may be a good thing after all. We proceeded to all go outside and hang for the evening/night. BBQ and a bonfire. And then, 4 hrs later even in the darkness I realized something was going wrong. I was starting to see drip tans magically appear on my calves and thighs. But hey, no biggie, the dress was gonna cover it. The forearms? Not so sure about. After we all went inside I started getting looks from the Hubby but as not being something new I ignored it. Sadly it was then, after 6 hrs, I looked in the mirror for the first time...and busted out laughing. I'd gone from a white girl to an Umpa Lumpa. I jumped in the shower and scrubbed. Exactly what she'd told me not to do. It worked though. The next day I was walking down the aisle with another crazy what not to do story and a golden tan. read more
