We are getting ready for a Caribbean cruise in a couple of weeks, but had to go to San Antonio for business for a couple of days and wanted to keep up my pre-cruise tanning regime so I Yelped up this place and started my drive over. The place is SUPER clean and the nice young lady behind the counter could not have been more friendly. I purchased a one-time tan for a very reasonable price and she showed me how to use the bed and I was good to go! HALA IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! She's awesome at what she does and is very accommodating!! I come to this location because of her and April!! I purchased a membership last month, the young lady who took care of me was beyond kind and very helpful. Her name is April A. There is also another girl named Hala who is incredible at what she does! She's always keeping me updated on new lotions, promotions, etc. She never makes me feel like she's just trying to push a sale on me, and genuinely cares about my comfortability and experience there at Palm Beach Tan. I haven't really had any problems with any of the other staff members, but Hala & April are the BEST to me! I've spent a lot of money on my membership here. I went in for a spray tan and asked for a specific formula. The employee said she recommends dark without any other shots. I said ok fine, you know best. 2 days later I am super spotty and it's peeling. The color is unflattering with my natural undertones. The employees don't seem to understand how the solution works and they didn't let me get the extra moisturizer that many other places offer. I asked for it. I don't know if it wasn't working on this particular day or if they just don't have it. But either way the solution here is low end. I've been getting spray tans for 20 years. I had my own spray tan machine at one point and I'm familiar with the many solutions. They're going very low end at this location and it results in low quality. I love this place! Courtney has always been amazing! She remembers my name and when she sees me , she already starts pulling up my profile and gets me in and out in no time. I usually cocktail tan so she puts me in a bed closer to the spray room so I can just hope across without getting dressed again. I appreciate the personal touch. Friday Night they're open til 10. Got here at 9. One person working. Line out the door. I paid for 1 month membership "deal" with a $20 start up fee. Ok. Then waited 45 minutes while the 1 person checked everyone else in before cleaning my spray tan bed. Sigh. Customer service is not a high priority here. So there's five people in line and we're waiting waiting waiting. She says hold on while I check them in and we'll get back to you. Yes I mind it! Now I find out I paid close to $40 for one spray tan! The email offer is misleading! Shame on you! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE!!!!!! It's super easy to join but when you go to cancel they will come up with every reason you can't cancel. I moved across country and went to PBT in Maryland to cancel my account on the 25th (the last day before you are charged before another month). The employee verified my identity and called this store because the system wouldn't allow her to cancel it . The employee at this location Justine REFUSED to help and said I would have to call customer service on a Saturday to cancel. Well they are only open Monday thru Friday. I got a spray tan in the state I reside in which is Arkansas. It looked terrible, splotches everywhere and only my arms were tan. I came to San Antonio for the weekend, and went to Palm Beach Tan, and they were awesome and so understanding with how upset I was. I believe the girl that helped me is named Kaley, she helped me with everything I needed to get the previous spray tan off, and prep for the one I was getting there. She was SO sweet and helpful. I would have recommended this tanning company until recently. I signed up on May 2nd and I asked a ton of question about billing cycles and when I could cancel to ensure I would be informed. Later I found out from the manager that the associate who had signed me up didn't even work at that location on a regular basis and the manager did not have nice things to say about associate. I found this very unprofessional. So again I asked the manager about when I could cancel and not be charged for the following month. Her answer was June 1st since I had signed up on May 2nd. So come June 1st I personally came in and cancelled and again the associate who cancelled it assured me I wouldn't be charged. Here is is almost two weeks later and I am still trying to get reimbursed for the month of June. They are now telling me I have to cancel by the 25th to not be charged. Where was this information when I asked for it multiple times before?! Also, now that I am upset and trying to get some compensation the employees have become rude. Anna the assistant manager was extremely rude and I did not appreciate the attitude I received from her when inquiring as to why I was being charged for a month I am not using. She told me I could just consider it a free month. But please tel me how is it a free month when I was charged for it? I am not even in San Antonio anymore nor am I remotely close to a palm beach locations to utilize my "free" month. My point is don't believe everything they tell you because they will tell you whatever you want to hear whether it's correct or not just to make a sale. I will never recommend anyone to palm beach tan because of their poor customer service. read more

I didn't realize the 24 hr rule at first coming from Boston, MA, but once I started to get acclimated with directions around here, I realized I didn't even live that far. They have many shops in several different convenient locations, GREAT staff at each place, a caring set of rules that look out for UR absolute best interest, the cleanest facilities I have seen from CT, to MA, to TX as well as pretty decent pricing on packages as well as tanning accessories. Overall I really like this tanning salon. I found Jess (who signed me up) to be very helpful and friendly. There is plenty of parking out front, and I really like that they leave tanning goggles in the room for your use, as I always forget to bring my own. I got one of the mid-range tanning bed packages and for a fair skinned person I've gotten some nice color! I took away one star because their packages and lotions are rather pricey. You have to sign up for a membership because paying per session wouldn't be worth it. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Not very impressed with this LOCATION. Several issues: The front desk and management staff are never helpful or polite unless you are upgrading your package or purchasing product - as for the product selection, it is severely lacking compared to other locations; the facility is certainly not the cleanest I have been in - the beds are always greasy and the floors are disgusting, there are more level 1 and 2 beds than any other bed - I am a diamond member and there is only one level 4 at this location which is always in use. The sunless rooms/machines are always dirty as well. What REALLY gets me is that no matter what bed I tan in, the front desk attendant always says - "we have to put you in for less time than you do at other locations-the bulbs are new in this bed". Same story for over a month when I'm using a higher intensity bed at other locations for the full allotment of time.... I recently traveled to another state and had a session at a PBT there (Mechanicsville, VA)...amazing beds, amazing service, amazing product selection, AMAZING staff. Same with the Schertz, TX location: better beds, polite staff, clean facilities. This place needs a serious make-over. Staff, beds, and facilities. Unfortunately, I doubt I will return to this location even though it is most convenient for me :( read more

He's very knowledgeable about the beds and the products he even introduced me to products that I didn't know that I needed. He's a valuable member to the Palm Beach Tan team. Go David! The only reason I didn't leave five stars is because the beds could be a little bit cleaner. Regardless, between all the salons in San Antonio and Austin this is my favorite location. This place is a terrible rip off!! Don't go here! I bought a 3 pack of spray tans and was not informed at any time that it would expire in 45 days until I came in to redeem one of the tans. Not only did they not allow me the exception to get the tan since I didn't know about the 45 day limit but there wasn't even a manager to speak with! Ridiculous and totally unacceptable. I ended up joining and have been back 3 times so far! I am preparing for my wedding and honeymoon so this is a fun time for me, and Jess was wonderful about giving me tips about how to use my membership to the best of my ability. This place has the Sun Angel, a must have for any Tanning Salon that makes tanning consistently easy on each visit. I would not do the place justice by trying to describe what it does, you simply need to try it yourself. Convenient location, clean facilitly and very kind/professinal employees. I really love their Mystic spray tan and they have two "very dark" beds that I love. I used to work in a tanning salon so I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about tanning and products and I can easily say that palm beach is the best salon I've been to. They are so friendly and professional to me every time I come in, they always let me know when I've got free upgrades or discounts available (which is often) and the establishment is very clean and welcoming. I love that their membership runs on rewards and incentives vs a contract- the incentives are so good! They also have awesome specials frequently. I love that the salon encourages safe tanning- the employees are great about recommending a safe tanning time to help keep you from burning, especially when they get new bulbs. And for those who aren't into the tanning beds, they have all kinds of spray tanning options! All in all, highly recommended. read more

I was forced into a $35 bed due to the fact I was a new customer and this was the only option I had to enjoy full tanning time. In order to use the other beds I would only be able to tan for half the time at full price of course. It was ridiculous. So I went with the only option that allowed me longer than 6 mins. The $35 bed which the skin scanner was clearly broken and was annoying to listen to until I started bed which gave me zero color after a 15min tan. Their "no burn" policy should be changed to "no tan" policy. I will not be back. read more
