We visited the Palm Beach Zoo on a beautiful south Florida late morning when the weather was a bit cooler than normal for early June. The Zoo is very well laid out and houses a variety of crowd-pleasing (and unfortunately endangered) animals such as tigers, bears, flamingos, Florida panthers, other cats, turtles, and many different birds. They also have a Koala bear with a baby that everyone was crowed around and adoring. The grounds are beautiful, with tropical plants lining the walkways, lots of water features and boardwalk bridges. The signage is mostly good, they have a large pictorial map at the entrance and directional signs to the animals throughout. Palm Beach Zoo has good parking tho I'm not sure whether the lot would fill-up quickly during the height of the season. We parked right across from the entrance. It's surprisingly close to 95. The kids will really love playing in the large outdoor fountain pool that leads to different sections of the Zoo.

If is an average zoo with mostly smaller animals. I liked the panther, alligator and monkeys. Way too many school groups and they should limit those number of people.

We ended up here after a change of plans, and I'm so glad we did -- this was the highlight of our day. The zoo is clean, well-maintained, and the animals all looked well cared for. We saw so many active animals -- tigers, lions, monkeys, a jaguar (absolutely beautiful), and even baby capybaras, which were adorable. My daughter's favorite part was the bird feeding area where the birds land on you -- she had the best time and it was really fun to watch. We also enjoyed the carousel and had lunch on-site, which was decent for zoo food. Staff and other guests were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was just pleasant. Perfect timing too -- we finished just as it started raining. Highly recommend for a fun, family-friendly outing.

This zoo is wonderful! The different animals are beautiful and seem to be happy. The panthers were very active and playful. The merry go round was wicked cute too. My son loves going to this zoo!

As a teacher, our family membership to the Palm Beach Zoo has become one of the best investments for spontaneous, stress-free weekends. There's nothing better than waking up, deciding to go, and knowing we'll have a fun day outdoors without a lot of planning. We love visiting the animals, and feeding the birds is always a highlight for the kids--it's something they look forward to every single time. The zoo is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for a relaxed family outing. The sit-down restaurant is also a big hit with my family. While the prices are a bit high for my taste, the kids are excited about eating there each visit, and the member discount definitely helps. If you're a local family or educator looking for an easy, enjoyable way to spend weekends, the Palm Beach Zoo membership is absolutely worth it!

Palm Beach Zoo checked off everything on my list.. 1. Easy to get to with lots of parking 2. Beautiful variety of animals 3. Activities for kids (Splash pad and Carousel) 4. Mostly shaded which is rare in most zoo's 5. Alot of sitting and eating areas 6. Demonstrations and close up with some animals. 7. Photo ops everywhere 8. In-house restaurant 9. Can be done within 2 hrs 10. Stroller/wagon friendly The staff was super friendly and honestly they were everywhere incase you needed them. I witnessed the care for feeding the animals and the happiness of these animals most likely reflects how they are cared for! I must visit especially with little ones!

The best zoo to see tigers, jaguars, koalas and bears up close. Usually at other zoos it's difficult to see them. Not at this zoo! It's small and quiet, we had a nice time here. With a toddler, we finished the zoo in 2.5 hours with a lunch break as well. Order your food from the QR code, it'll make your life easier. The best part was the lorikeet exhibit. Go with the 3 cups for $5 to feed them. We weee so lucky to be the only ones in there so they were fighting over my baby's nectar. One flew on her head and tried to eat her pigtail, it was awesome. Loved the seating area for their restaurant. We were surrounded by birds. We really enjoyed the experience. Sheldon was great with teaching us about the tigers. Thank you again, highly recommend. $30/adult, no student or first responder discount.

For $45 plus tax, there really aren't a lot of animals in my opinion. This is the first time in a while since I've gone and went because everyone talks about the improvements that have been made but I don't believe I will be going again. Disappointed with the lack of animals. If you like turtles though they have more than you can imagine.

    Staying wild at the zoo.

Great little zoo with big surprises, tigers and panthers on full display ! We couldn't see the jaguar cause its enclosure is being refurbished but we sure be back in 2027 when it will open, is gonna be awesome. They do have capibaras and xolo salamanders , very interested to watch. The zoo is little but very shady and it doesn't feel crowded. The splash pad for the kids is amazing. Definitely worth the visit.

I can't believe that I've lived in South Florida for 35 years and never went to the Palm Beach Zoo before today! A family outing with my son, and, grandsons first zoo experience. First, this is a fantastic destination for young children. There is a playground, which my boys were too young for, and a lot of shaded areas that made a hot day in August very bearable (sorry about the pun!). The people, both staff and other guests were very friendly which made the environment even nicer. There's a very good amount of animals to see. One of my grandsons loved the Howler Monkeys and the other was excited by the White Alligators. My son's favorite was the Horn Bill Bird that he says reminds him of Zazu from the Lion King. Me? I connected with the Ape (plenty of room to insert joke here!). The prices were a lot less than I expected and we ate at the cafeteria (Mac and cheese for those of us who walk and baby food for those that don't walk yet!). And, of course the grandsons left with a stuffed bear and stuffed white alligator from the gift shop! Fun for multiple generations!

I came for the Zoo Light. You book online and it gave me some options about the event. I chosed the adult night experience which meant no children. They had two other options I think. I liked the experience. When I walked in you hear the holiday music playing. I was greeted by the zoo staff. I presented by phone ticket and they scanned it. The zoo was beautifully illuminated by lights. When you first walk in the first thing you see is a beautiful Christmas tree. It is in the middle of where the fountain is. They have a light show there. Around the tree the park had vendors with adult beverages, s'mores, funnel cakes, hot chocolate, etc. The light show was a little overrated. They advertise it over and over. I did it twice to make sure I got it right the first time. Honestly if it wasn't because of the DJ I would have not been able to tell when it started and when it ended. It is not long and other than the DJ does park announcements. It was not much difference. The light experience was nice. The music is only in the center. You can't see most animals, the cages are too dark and they are sleeping. The walk was nice. I would watch out for bird bombs (poop) just in some area lol. They had these beautiful sculptures around and an artist sculpting away. It was nice treat to see. He does beautiful work.

Such a cute little zoo! We walked the whole thing in about 2 hours. All the animals were out and we had fun and snacks!

Palm Beach Zoo Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Palm Beach Zoo

Are there koala bears currently at the zoo?

    Yes there are

    Are there any indoor exhibits?

    Mostly canopy covered exhibits

    How's the food?

Just ate the pretzel, please let me know how you like the food.

Good for a rainy day? Or is it mostly outdoors?

It is mostly outdoors- however a lot of covered by canopy. I would say it's better for a rainy day than Zoo Miami, but not ideal.

Is the membership worth it if we live 5 min away?

I think it's a great idea to get membership, even though I wasn't impressed our last visit, but it will pay off in 3-4 visits and when it gets colder more animals will be outside

This is a great experience for animal lovers. You get a lot of time with the otters and kangaroos…read morespecifically, which I loved. The otters are hilarious and they untied my shoes while I wasn't looking at my feet. The tour guides really care about the animals and explain how all of them ended up here. A lot of them were pets that people abandoned/couldn't handle, which was sad to hear but I'm so glad this place exists for them. I also want to give a shoutout to Albert the albino porcupine. They got him for Lola, the black porcupine, but she won't mate with him because she sees his white color as weak. Albino porcupines are mostly blind, so she keeps rejecting him because she wants strong offspring. Poor Albert!!! I hope he finds love soon.

The staff was very knowledgeable and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Hope and Sam were especially great -- friendly, helpful, and clearly passionate about the animals. You can tell the animals are well cared for and loved. I also appreciated that the staff took their safety policies seriously. There was a young boy in our group who was not old enough for one of the experiences, and even though the parents weren't thrilled, the staff still followed their rules and did not allow him to participate. I respect them for prioritizing the safety of both the child and the animals. Such a fun and memorable experience overall!

The LEGO exhibit was also fantastic. It's amazing to see how much time, creativity, and work goes into creating those incredible sculptures! There was some construction going on during our visit, but there was still tons to explore. Inside, there were lots of cool science exhibits and interactive things to check out. We didn't bring our bathing suits, but there's also a splash pad, which would be perfect for cooling off on a hot Florida day. On this visit, we came to see the BRICK PLANET LEGO® brick exhibition (May 17-September 27), and it was absolutely incredible! The displays were stunning, with so many tiny details that both kids and adults could admire for a long time. Funny enough, this visit wasn't even planned. We originally spent the morning at The Breakers, but the children's play area was under renovation, so we had to quickly find something nearby before the rain started. We remembered our favorite museum, and it turned out to be the perfect backup plan. By the time we arrived, a heavy Florida downpour had started. We got a little soaked running inside, but it was completely worth it--we ended up spending almost the entire day there and had a hard time convincing the kids it was finally time to go home! The LEGO exhibition was amazing, and my girls especially loved the interactive building stations where they could create their own designs. After that, they spent a long time exploring the hands-on science exhibits with magnets, liquids, and other fascinating experiments. One of their favorites was building sculptures from colorful flexible rods, and of course they couldn't leave without visiting the Ball Factory, which has recently been updated and is now one of their favorite areas in the museum. There is also a wonderful playroom for younger children, although my older kids still enjoy it every time we visit. Once the rain stopped, we headed outside to explore the museum grounds. They have updated many of the outdoor exhibits since our last visit. Previously there were dinosaur displays, and inside the museum there was a fun detective-themed exhibition with puzzles, secret codes, and interactive challenges. This time we found Ice Age animals, including a giant saber-toothed tiger and a mammoth, along with several other impressive sculptures. Outside you'll also find a splash pad, giant acoustic dishes that let kids talk to each other from surprisingly long distances, food trucks, ice cream vendors, drinking fountains, and plenty of space to explore. The museum is always clean, the staff is friendly, and there is truly something for every age. Whether your kids love science, LEGO, hands-on experiments, or simply discovering new things, this is a fantastic place to spend the day. Highly recommend for families visiting or living in South Florida!
