I visited the Palm Beach Zoo today, July 20, 2026, and had a great experience. I have been a Palm Beach Zoo member since 2021. I usually compliment staff directly or mention it to other employees when someone does a great job, but today I was told to use Yelp to share my experience. The zoo was beautiful and the staff were very pleasant. I will say I wish we had been told at the entrance that part of the zoo was closed due to construction, but we still had a nice visit. I especially want to mention the young lady working at the Dippin' Dots stand. I don't remember her name, but she had dark hair and was wearing a green Palm Beach Zoo shirt. I had three kids with me, and my grandson was having a tantrum and threw his ice cream. She came out, brought him a new one, and took the time to talk to him and help calm him down. She was very sweet and patient, and she made our day better. read more

We've been to Palm Beach Zoo many times, and it's still one of our favorite family-friendly places in South Florida. It's not a huge zoo, which actually makes it perfect for families with young kids--you can comfortably see everything without feeling rushed. If you're planning a visit this summer, don't miss the Kids Free promotion (available through August 10), where up to four children can enter free with a paid adult admission. It's a great way for families to save. One of my biggest recommendations is to rent a Safari Wagon if you have two kids. It costs $10 for the entire day and makes the visit so much easier. Just be sure to arrive early! We came right when the zoo opened on a Saturday, and there were only about 4-5 wagons available. A few helpful tips: * Bring swimsuits and towels for the kids because there's a splash area where they can cool off. * The water pump at the playground has been repaired, and it's a huge hit with children. During our visit, some areas were temporarily closed for renovations, including the flamingo exhibit, part of the bridge area, and the lion viewing area. Hopefully everything will reopen soon. The only disappointment was the restrooms. They were noticeably dirty, with cobwebs, leaves on the floor, and an unpleasant smell. It looked like they hadn't been cleaned in quite some time, which was surprising considering how well the rest of the zoo is maintained. This is a nice little zoo. If you live close by or stopping by during a roadtrip, I think it is worth it. All together without the splash pad, I'd say it takes about 20mins to get through everything. For someone come from Miramar, It isn't worth the drive. But my song enjoyed it and that's all that mattered. He loved seeing all the animals and I learned just how much he loves them. Lol. If I ever come back, I'd definitely make sure to bring his swim clothes to enjoy the splash pad. read more

We visited the Palm Beach Zoo on a beautiful south Florida late morning when the weather was a bit cooler than normal for early June. The Zoo is very well laid out and houses a variety of crowd-pleasing (and unfortunately endangered) animals such as tigers, bears, flamingos, Florida panthers, other cats, turtles, and many different birds. They also have a Koala bear with a baby that everyone was crowed around and adoring. The grounds are beautiful, with tropical plants lining the walkways, lots of water features and boardwalk bridges. The signage is mostly good, they have a large pictorial map at the entrance and directional signs to the animals throughout. Palm Beach Zoo has good parking tho I'm not sure whether the lot would fill-up quickly during the height of the season. We parked right across from the entrance. It's surprisingly close to 95. The kids will really love playing in the large outdoor fountain pool that leads to different sections of the Zoo. read more

We ended up here after a change of plans, and I'm so glad we did -- this was the highlight of our day. The zoo is clean, well-maintained, and the animals all looked well cared for. We saw so many active animals -- tigers, lions, monkeys, a jaguar (absolutely beautiful), and even baby capybaras, which were adorable. My daughter's favorite part was the bird feeding area where the birds land on you -- she had the best time and it was really fun to watch. We also enjoyed the carousel and had lunch on-site, which was decent for zoo food. Staff and other guests were friendly, and the overall atmosphere was just pleasant. The best zoo to see tigers, jaguars, koalas and bears up close. Usually at other zoos it's difficult to see them. Not at this zoo! It's small and quiet, we had a nice time here. With a toddler, we finished the zoo in 2.5 hours with a lunch break as well. Order your food from the QR code, it'll make your life easier. The best part was the lorikeet exhibit. Go with the 3 cups for $5 to feed them. We weee so lucky to be the only ones in there so they were fighting over my baby's nectar. One flew on her head and tried to eat her pigtail, it was awesome. Loved the seating area for their restaurant. We were surrounded by birds. We really enjoyed the experience. Sheldon was great with teaching us about the tigers. For $45 plus tax, there really aren't a lot of animals in my opinion. This is the first time in a while since I've gone and went because everyone talks about the improvements that have been made but I don't believe I will be going again. I can't believe that I've lived in South Florida for 35 years and never went to the Palm Beach Zoo before today! A family outing with my son, and, grandsons first zoo experience. First, this is a fantastic destination for young children. There is a playground, which my boys were too young for, and a lot of shaded areas that made a hot day in August very bearable (sorry about the pun!). The people, both staff and other guests were very friendly which made the environment even nicer. There's a very good amount of animals to see. One of my grandsons loved the Howler Monkeys and the other was excited by the White Alligators. My son's favorite was the Horn Bill Bird that he says reminds him of Zazu from the Lion King. Me? I connected with the Ape (plenty of room to insert joke here!). The prices were a lot less than I expected and we ate at the cafeteria (Mac and cheese for those of us who walk and baby food for those that don't walk yet!). And, of course the grandsons left with a stuffed bear and stuffed white alligator from the gift shop! Fun for multiple generations! read more

I came for the Zoo Light. You book online and it gave me some options about the event. I chosed the adult night experience which meant no children. They had two other options I think. I liked the experience. When I walked in you hear the holiday music playing. I was greeted by the zoo staff. I presented by phone ticket and they scanned it. The zoo was beautifully illuminated by lights. When you first walk in the first thing you see is a beautiful Christmas tree. It is in the middle of where the fountain is. They have a light show there. Around the tree the park had vendors with adult beverages, s'mores, funnel cakes, hot chocolate, etc. The light show was a little overrated. They advertise it over and over. I did it twice to make sure I got it right the first time. Honestly if it wasn't because of the DJ I would have not been able to tell when it started and when it ended. It is not long and other than the DJ does park announcements. It was not much difference. The light experience was nice. The music is only in the center. You can't see most animals, the cages are too dark and they are sleeping. The walk was nice. I would watch out for bird bombs (poop) just in some area lol. They had these beautiful sculptures around and an artist sculpting away. It was nice treat to see. He does beautiful work. read more

This is a nice little zoo that is great for families with young children. I went with my family the day after Christmas and my 2 year old was able to walk the whole thing. We were able to get through the whole zoo in about 2.5 hours but we did not stop to look at everything. There is a decent variety of animals, without having to take the trek to Zoo Miami. Though there are not elephants, giraffes, rhinos etc like they have in Miami. There are koalas, tigers, jaguars, bears, capibaras, flamingos, lemurs and an albino gator. read more

Visited day after Christmas with family and a toddler and found it to be a fun easy experience. There was a nice variety of animals and space to see them up close. Luckily it wasn't busy but I would say the parking looked tight and the animal encounters were all booked up fast and early. The food options were okay better than traditional but the service staff seemed disinterested. Overall, I would recommend but the pricing was quite steep $150 for 4 people; I understand the good that's done but I can't imagine every family can afford. read more

Small zoo packed with a great variety of animals ..went on a Monday afternoon and it was very nice weather and hardly anyone there ..staff is so friendly and helpful. The animals here are amazing we missed the sloth due to sleeping but lucked out overall viewing the animals even got to watch a group of flamingo go for a walk with the keepers...quite a treat! It was pricey for a zoo visit (over $60 for 2 people with a senior discount) Parking was easy the day and time we went we were right across from the entrance ...definitely worth a visit!! read more

Sad and expensive... We're middle aged, well traveled and have visited many zoos. Our expectations were not high and it still sucked... $35.00 for a dated, poorly maintained property with very few visible animals and no large mammals (except tigers). Primary retail store closed at 2:30 on a Saturday? One food outlet open and nothing else? Nothing is engaging or interactive... There's obviously major issues with such an affluent county not supporting the zoo and/or ownership/management getting the many wealthy locals to help out. Sad.... read more

2024 was my year of the Zoo. We enjoyed a family pass and truly enjoyed it. Everything is completely outside, and the foliage and trees provide a nice cover. In a way, it is a lovely, protected park to walk around. My kids spent plenty of time just playing on the playground inside here- they love the climbing structures. They also love to try to catch tadpoles in the running water walls at the entrance. Some favorite parts of the zoo: the otters, swimming and dancing behind the glass- this display is wonderful. My kids really like the electric colored fish inside the cave. I love the Mayan replica part, but I miss the caracol with the reptiles inside. Being able to go more often, we saw various animals at different times. An hour before closing, many animals are being fed and are visible and waiting for the keepers. I like trying to spot the monkeys and lemurs on various islands in the zoo. I brought my kids here in strollers and now they walk by themselves, but the magic of seeing live animals has not changed. Looking forward to seeing some of the areas after they are renovated. read more

Great Experience - Family-Friendly & Thoughtful! From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by the shaded parking such a thoughtful detail, especially in the July heat! As soon as we walked up to get our tickets, the staff was friendly and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised when they didn't charge me for the kids, which made it possible for me to use the extra money on snacks and push the kids around the park comfortably. The zoo itself is beautiful, clean, and has so many animals to see. Most of the pathways are shaded, which made the visit much more enjoyable despite the summer heat. The splash area for the kids was a huge hit so much fun and a great way for them to cool down. The staff throughout the park were kind and helpful, making the whole experience even better. My experience at the zoo was incredible! I visited with a friend and our kids, and we had an amazing time. The landscaping throughout the zoo is beautiful and well maintained, creating a wonderful atmosphere for families to explore and enjoy. The bear and the koala were definitely the stars of the day, and the kids loved every minute of our visit. We even finished the day at the splash pad, which was the perfect way to end a fun-filled adventure. What happened after our visit was even more impressive. The following day, I realized that I had lost both my debit card and driver's license somewhere at the zoo. I called hoping that someone might have turned them in, and to my relief, Nina answered the phone and let me know that they had been found. Nina was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. Very friendly and knowledgable staff who seem to care for the animals which is awesome. The enclosures for the animals seem nice but the tigers and panthers were pacing back and forth A LOT which is apparently a sign of stress or lack of enrichment? Not sure if larger enclosures with more spaces to hide or explore are possible but its worth considering even if its no longer a sure thing that people will see the animal (can add more pictures, videos and trail camera footage (from outside or from the enclosure)) to augment. Or maybe they just need more chances to hunt? Went to the 21+ after dark event. Was cool to see the animals at dusk and have less crowds but the drinks were pricey (expected) and I wish there was more a vibe curated with the music. The dj had good energy but I wouldve loved to hear some oldies/classics, reggae, electronic, reggaeton, 80s, or dance music rather than the high school dance music that didnt seem to inspire a lot of action on the dancefloor. or a live band would be sick. read more

This a medium size zoo, mostly having birds and smaller size animals. A water fountain at the entrance, really popular with kids. There's a marry go round as well. They have children's camp style play area and bird feeding section too. There are exhibitions that occurs throughout the day. The zoo is mostly clean. Signs and directions are clear. A good restaurant inside for food and beverages. For me the highlights were flamingos, bald eagle and otters. Other than that it was very basic. I went here and I saw a girl in the bathroom and she fainted! I went to get help, but they said they had to see it.... And they didn't... I had to call the police! POLICE!? Yes... The police. Then when I went back into the bathroom, someone took off her shoes and poured water down her throat! You know how dangerous that is? She could've choked on the water! Then... Finally! The Palm Beach zoo is one of my favorite places to visit in south Florida! Located in West Palm Beach this zoo has been around for decades and it always continues to grow and get better! It offers day passes and seasonal passes, of which I opted for a day pass which was $39. Not bad for a day at the zoo and knowing it goes towards the maintenance of all the exhibits and wildlife. Every enclosure was kept in fantastic condition! I believe they have been putting in a ton of money expanding each animals exhibit so they have more roaming space and obstacles so they stay busy and have variety. This isn't a zoo that has extremely large animals, it's a smaller animal zoo plus some stars of the show like the Jaguar, Lions, Panther, Bears etc. If I were to pick my top three exhibits it would for sure be the Mexican spider monkeys, the bears, and the lemurs. I cannot wait to go back and visit again soon to see some of the new exhibits that were supposed to open in summer of 2025. The biggest perk of this zoo is it's not a ton of walking and there is also tremendous shade throughout so you won't be exhausted like some other zoos in the area. For the south Florida heat, especially in the summer, that is a huge selling point in my opinion. read more

slightly confusing lay out ! but lots of adorable animals and nice exhibits. i liked the monkey area a lot, it was very cool being able to watch them from different angles around the island they're on. i loved all the big cats - most were napping in the warm sun, but it's always fun to spot the animals "hiding" in their habitats and seeing how their coats really do camouflage them. i had a pretzel which was delicious ! i was super happy they had the penny squishing machine - most zoos / aquariums have started getting rid of them and i collect them so it's been a bummer. i know there was intense rain yesterday but i will only *complain* about the cleanliness of the glass at the enclosures. the rain marks made it harder to see some animals with the sun glair. read more

This zoo is located in West Palm Beach and is on 23-acres. Since my toddler was under 2, we took him because admission was free for children under 2. Parking was spacious. The zoo was large and fun to walk around. For an additional fee, a spot can be reserved to take part with the animal experience; you can be up close and personal with a bear, tortoise, otter, panther, porcupine, sloth, and koala. Touching of the animal is not allowed but pictures are. The bigger animals like a bear and panther would be viewed from a barrier for obvious reasons. There were many endangered animals in this zoo. Walking around was spacious and clean. The animals were fun to look at. Some were hiding because of the hot, humid, and sunny day. My favorite were the tigers and the sloth (from afar). The sloth was only available for private experiences, which you have to book in advance and pay an extra fee. There were plenty of restrooms and picnic tables. A gift shop and restaurant were onsite. There was a carousel and a toddler play area; the play area had climbing a playscape for the little ones. Overall, a fun experience for the kids and adults. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by this little zoo! It was a great way to spend an afternoon. When you first enter, there is a splash pad for children. We saw lots of families together cooling off. Towards all the way in the front there are bathrooms, but right by the splash pads there is a private changing station. There was also a small kiosks that you can purchase drinks and some snacks. From there, you can decided which direction you would like to go. You can meet and talk with zoo keepers throughout the day. Most of the zoo was nicely shaded and had plenty of areas to sit and relax. It's small enough for younger children to enjoy and not get too overwhelmed, yet enough to keep their attention. They did offer some extra where you could have animal encounters. I see some groups doing feeds and it seems very nice and not too invasive to their space. The cafe they had toward the back had some food offerings. Prices are a little higher and were limited. Hey had some local beer offerings, which was refreshing for the hot afternoon. Overall, it was a wonderful visit. I think this is a great options for children and adults alike. read more

The zookeepers were awesome about answering questions from the crowd about the tigers. We got the yearly pass as a gift and have well exceeded our visits there. And will be using it at least once a month for the rest of the year. It's so nice early in the morning to see all of the animals lively and walking around. My little loves it there, knows the names of her favorite animals and loves to choose our journey each time we go. Her favorite is SASSY, IYKYK. we love seeing her big paws hanging from the bridge while she naps. On our last visit, we got to see her really lively which really made our day. The food hall? The Palm Beach Zoo is great place to go with the children. The Zoo offers several themes based on the types of animals and their habitat. When you enter there is a a round area with water fountains for the kids to cool down on a hot day so bring a bathing suit and a change of clothes. read more
