The building is smaller so this definitely helped to create a nicer less rushed relaxing experience inside of what would otherwise be tight uncomfortable conditions. I went here on a Friday night. at first, I was kind of surprised that they were only letting one person in at a time and they had a traffic light at the door. The menu was outside. I decided on red velvet ice cream. when I went inside, it looked better than I expected. I got served quick by the staff. The ice cream tasted great much better than expected. I'm trying to look for a positive in this review to start with. I would say it's conveniently located after a beach day. The outside seating is ample, but other than that...This shop caters to one customer at a time. You have to wait for the light to turn green before entering. You need to know your order by the time you walk in, which would be helpful with better signage. The scoopers expect you to know your order and quickly -and I mean quickly move on. The small chalkboard outside was hard to read and confusing. The ice cream options are limited, they ran out of the one I wanted and most of the tubs had freezer burn on them. I opted for a raspberry sorbet because of it. Want a cone? Expect to pay $1.50 on top of your single scoop price of $5! Definitely overpriced for what you get. While yummy, it definitely wasn't the best ice cream I've ever had. But hey, I still say give it a go! I didn't take any pictures because it would've melted way too fast! I didn't give it five stars just because they only allow one group inside at a time because it's a very small place. I want to say I can understand, but when people are standing outside in the heat, waiting to get in side, they should have a better system instead of using that garage area that they have open for junk, maybe people could wait inside there with fans running or something. There was a group that must've stayed inside eating leaving several people outside waiting g because all of them came out with half of their cones. As far as the ice cream, I wanted to get the Mojito that was listed under the homemade flavors, but I didn't get much of a flavor from it from the sample he gave me. My husband and I both got the chocolate pecan (also a homemade flavor), which was an extremely tasty chocolate, completely packed with nicely sized pecans. My friends and I visited after eating dinner at Porch next door. There was a line at the door, so we waited for the light in front of the shop to turn green so it would be our turn to enter the shop. There is a menu outside of the shop with a list of flavors and other items they offer besides ice cream. When we were able to enter the small shop, we ordered what we wanted before paying. I chose a small cup of salted caramel ice cream, which was plenty of ice cream for me. It was easy to pay with my phone and go back outside to sit down at one of the many tables. We ate our ice cream and watched lots of people come to eat ice cream after dinner. You could hear live music in the distance, and kids were running around playing. It was a festive and relaxing atmosphere. I'm glad we visited! The ice cream was delicious, creamy, and full of flavor. read more

Definitely some of the best ice cream you can get in the area. We went twice while we were in town which accounted for 50% of our days. There was a line both nights and it's odd that they only let one group at a time in the store but it's worth the wait. The sea turtle was extremely popular. They also had a side of odd flavors which we did not try. I had the birthday cake with sugar cookie dough in it one night and cookie dough the second night. Both excellent. Each time I've visited SSI, I've passed by this place and have always told myself I'd stop by. Well it finally happened and I went two nights in a row because it was just that good. It's a simple little shop win at least 15 different flavor options and they also sell King of Pops here too. They have good ol vanilla, cookie butter, superman, chocolate, pistachio, and a few other specialty flavors like honey lavender. Of course you sample them but my mind was set on just simple vanilla. One scoop (which I believe was $4.95) is actually a ginormous amount of ice cream and it just tastes delicious. It's super creamy and I actually enjoyed it better than some ice cream sold at grocery stores. They also have toppings available (a little expensive but it's $1.50 per topping) and even the extra charge of toppings didn't stop me from getting sprinkles and crumbled Oreos on top. They also have milkshakes for $8 if that's your style. Oh and there isn't an indoor seating area but there are plenty of picnic style tables out front because who wouldn't want to enjoy a nice treat in this beautiful weather???? read more

There isn't much I can add in support of this gem of a "hole in the wall" ice cream shop other than I wished I had discovered Moo Cow before today. My husband and I were the only people - other than the counterperson - in the shop when we visited (mid-day, Wednesday after Labor Day). We felt very safe - we were all "masked" and we were able to sit outside to enjoy our ice cream. We visited the Georgia Sea Turtle Hospital earlier so I could not resist trying the Sea Turtle Ice Cream - very creamy with a taste like butter pecan with a touch of caramel. Delicious! We were told Sea Turtle is their # 1 seller. My husband had a cherry vanilla waffle cone which he said was incredibly good.
