Charming Old Hollywood Vibes with Modern Hospitality In late February, about 75 of us stayed at the Palm Garden Hotel for a Scandinavian cultural convention--and we couldn't have felt more welcome. From start to finish, the hotel staff went above and beyond. One highlight: during a luncheon, servers surprised us with baskets of fresh-baked, giant cookies. A sweet touch, literally! The Palm Garden has genuine midcentury charm and a dash of Old Hollywood flair. It reminded us of the kinds of hideaway hotels Southern California used to be known for--but that are now all too rare. The property has clearly been thoughtfully refurbished, maintaining its personality while offering modern comfort. A lot of bang for the buck. Our room was quiet and comfy, with a very cozy bed. Selvin's Restaurant & Lounge is on-site and feels like a destination in its own right. Fantastic wine list, brick-oven pizzas, and packed with a mix of locals and guests on Friday and Saturday nights. Amenities we loved: Ample free parking Better-than-average complimentary breakfast Heated outdoor pool & hot tub Cabanas and lounge patio Gym Fun Hollywood-themed suite featuring George Burns' former pool table Small Cons: Water pressure was underwhelming Sink fixtures were dated Minor wear-and-tear like a gouge on the closet door. All-in-all, whether you're planning a wedding, a weekend getaway, or a budget conscious cozy group event, the Palm Garden is a unique and welcoming gem that delivers value and memorable character. We'll definitely be back!

Silvin's Restaurant, attached to the hotel, beautiful dining room and bar. Both the dinner (drinks, wine) and breakfast were excellent.

We stayed one night (03/09/2025) with our Dachshund. Clean room (135), comfortable bed, professional staff. We had an issue with the toilet at 8:00 PM, called the front desk and a maintenance staff member was there in 10 minutes, and gone in 15 minutes - problem solved. There was real grass just outside our first floor room for our dog's "use." We had dinner and the complimentary (very nice) hot breakfast at Selvin's (the restaurant attached to the hotel). We will stay here next time we are in the area.

We had booked a room across the 101 at Motel 6 for an event in Thousand Oaks. We needed an early check-in. Motel 6 was charging $90 for the room on a Sunday afternoon and wanted an extra $20 for that. We immediately canceled our reservation there and drove to the Palm Garden Hotel. After checking online we saw that the Palm Garden was only $25 more than what Motel 6 was charging. What a huge improvement this hotel was over that place! Excellent service, FREE early check-in, breakfast included, beautiful pool and grounds. We didn't get a chance to visit the restaurant but the front desk even gave us free drink tickets. Overall a lovely newly renovated and very clean hotel. You can tell that they care about the place and their customers.

I recently had my daughter's Quinceanera at the Palm Gardens hotel. After researching and visiting about 5 different places we decided to have it at The Palm Gardens hotel. My family from the East Coast came and stayed at this hotel. The service was amazing! Breakfast was included and all! The hall we rented was super clean, they provided the foods, which was delicious, the waiters and waitress where amazing! Top of the line service at an affordable price!

My boyfriend and I were looking for a dog friendly spot to stay in the middle of L.A. and Solvang for our home base for the weekend trip and this spot worked great. The only issue we had was that our TV couldn't find any channels all weekend but I actually didn't mind because it was easier to get my boyfriend to leave the room for our sightseeing than when he gets sucked into an HGTV show. We asked the front desk to send maintenance in at one point but they couldn't figure out what the problem was either. They ended up taking a bit off our stay for the inconvenience when I mentioned it at check out though. At the time we stayed (February 2022), they were offering breakfast for pick up and it was just mediocre with eggs, potatoes, sausage and toast and all of it in need of seasoning. The room itself though was nice and clean with a king bed and a small sofa.

Loved this hotel! Came here for our son's baseball tournament and we stayed here on a Saturday night. This place makes you feel that you're in paradise with their tropical landscape. The beds were not the most comfortable but when you're tired anything works. Their complementary breakfast got them extra brownie points with the family. If we are back in Thousand Oaks we'll make sure to stay here again

The most striking feature of all was the precision demonstrated by Soltana Mulhearn, and her team from Velvet Alley Events. https://www.instagram.com/velvetalleyevents/ From first meeting at rehearsal Soltana greeted the party, took us on a tour of the lovely property, and explained how the ceremony would be conducted. Soltana's deft handling of the 25, or so, members of the wedding party, all while being patient, and with a smile, was more than reassuring to me, and the others as well. Her staff seamlessly underpinned the event. Her staff were professional, well trained, and just beautiful people. A live event can go "off" at any time. Soltana kept the wedding on track from start to finish, and all with that smile! I would, without hesitation, highly recommend Eden Gardens, and the amazing services of Velvet Alley Events. How they could have a camera in there, to this day, without complaints is astonishing to me. I tried to calmly address this issue with the front desk (before coming here) only to be met with absolute absurdity. The lady managing the desk saw no issue with it and said the camera is there to make sure nobody "damages the room", I argued that we don't want damage in changing rooms and bathrooms but we don't put cameras in them... she didn't understand my correlation, and argued that it's of no concern. I didn't take a photo of the camera, but having looked back on the venues photos of past events, you can see the camera on the wall in that suite for years. Why can't it be hidden during events? Why aren't there signs posted that the bridal suite where everyone is changing is being recorded? Who has access and can monitor that footage? Recommendation: hide the camera when people are changing or provide an alternative location for people to change. If you can't provide a safe space for people to undress without recording them maybe don't hold events. Demand: Delete all past footage that this camera has collected immediately.

Customer service was still great, but I noticed a few changes that took away from the experience for us personally. I do like that the tastings are no longer in the plastic tubes, although the tubes did feel like they held a little more wine. What we didn't enjoy was that when multiple people ordered the same tastings, they were placed into the same shared glass/container. In our party of four, three of us had the same six tastings and had to share. I appreciated the bow on the glass showing the pours, but I preferred the previous setup where everyone had their own individual tastings. It may seem small, and thankfully our group was fine sharing, but it made the experience feel less personal and honestly made us less interested in doing tastings again on future visits. Some people also may not feel comfortable sharing containers or touching the same glass. Nothing terrible at all, just some feedback from longtime visitors who loved how it used to be. On this visit we actually ended up ordering a bottle afterward instead, and moving forward we'll probably just continue doing that rather than the tastings.
