Spent most time at the huge pool which was the highlight for the kids and on the baseball fields. Rooms were clean and not too dated. Parking is close to most rooms. Hotel staff was exceptional. We just wished they left the pool open longer since it's very much a family atmosphere Breakfast included at local (walking distance) restaurants but selections were limited. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Stayed here for a quick getaway and it did not disappoint. Check-in was a breeze and finding our room was even easier. When we entered the room we were very pleased. It was clean and looked very modern. We had no issues with the room except the shower doors. The water seemed to come out of the shower and onto the floor in large amounts. The pool are was very nice and spacious. It was very clean and the towels were empty for about 10 minutes before they were restocked. I will definitely return to this hotel as they were very reasonably priced, very clean and modern. read more

Decided to stay overnight in Thousand Oaks after seeing a show. Found this place on Priceline and it was a really nice choice. It looks like a lot like a standard motel, but there are upgrades throughout, particularly on the grounds, which are beautifully decorated and includes many pieces of art scattered around. Take a moment to walk around and enjoy the gorgeous water features and other surprising little touches. There are also lots of lovely little sitting areas around the pool and elsewhere. The rooms are fine. You get a fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. I thought the bed was a little hard but that's just me - mattress preference is so personal. You get a voucher for breakfast at a nearby cafe. I was a bit pressed for time so I didn't want to bother with that. It's really nice that they do offer that, but I prefer the quick breakfast in the lobby option. I wouldn't hesitate to book this property again. And I would make certain to walk around and maybe have my morning coffee outside by one of the cool fountains. read more

I stay here solo a few times every year. I love it. The rooms are bright, new and clean. The pool and hot tub are great. The grounds are beautifully maintained with tropical plants and flowers. And the attached modern hip Italian restaurant is top notch. It has a great large bar, perfect for solo dining. The food is fab. And they have live music on the weekends. It's a popular place! Very nice hotel. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was clean and spacious. The shower had excellent water pressure, was roomy and the included shampoo, conditioner, and soap were very nice (not cheap and icky for longer hair like mine.) The heated pool and jacuzzi were fantastic with great hours, open from 7am-10pm. Free breakfast next door at Mikey's restaurant was included. Parking was 10$. Friendly staff. Check in was 3pm and checkout 12 noon. We were very happy with our entire stay and will be coming back next time we are in the area. read more

We stayed one night (03/09/2025) with our Dachshund. Clean room (135), comfortable bed, professional staff. We had an issue with the toilet at 8:00 PM, called the front desk and a maintenance staff member was there in 10 minutes, and gone in 15 minutes - problem solved. There was real grass just outside our first floor room for our dog's "use." We had dinner and the complimentary (very nice) hot breakfast at Selvin's (the restaurant attached to the hotel). Barely four stars. This is generally a nice facility, with clean comfortable rooms and good helpful staff. The decor is modern, bed comfortable, heating and ventilation fairly quiet. Breakfast in the morning was ok, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cereal and toast. Coffee was drinkable, not great. There seem to be nice conference facilities for modest-sized groups. However there were two issues that made it less than comfortable. The water pressure is awful, so showering is a real chore. And the front door does not seal well, so I could hear everything outside -- conversations 25 feet away, etc. The on-site restaurant, Selvin's, is excellent, by the way. read more

Really 3.75.... But rounded it up. Looking for a place where I could get my dog away from Los Angeles where I live where the July 4 explosions go on all night long and terrify my dog. Friend who lives in Thousand Oaks said it's relatively quiet so I took a room here. The photos and reviews were okay, said there were just major renovations. and I wanted a pool. It's right off the freeway and in a really odd place next to a Ralph's supermarket and mini mall. But you walk in and the lobby is nice, and looks legit. Our room was small, but very clean and looked on the newer side. Facing a very nice courtyard with well manicured grounds and flowers and even a bunny that kept hopping around lol. Little fridge and microwave and coffee maker. The pool was very nice and clean, and lots of comfortable seating; chaise lounge and big fluffy chairs and couches. First night very quiet, yay. There are great hiking trails in the area so we took advantage of that. The breakfast was pretty bad. Chafing dish of squares of what looked like spinach mushroom quiche but was inedible. Powdered eggs? Soggy potatoes. Some weird slimy banana dish that looked like a 5 year old made covered with some sugary syrup. Orange tang like juice. Some not ripe bananas, yogurt cups, cinnamon buns that were hard as rocks and stale bagels. We didn't go back the next morning lol. The restaurant attached to the hotel was really good, selvin's....went for dinner. Was closed the 4th. Now for the reason I came; to get away from loud fireworks. Too bad, someone on the property or right in the parking lot next to our room was setting off loud explosions really scary for a couple hours. My dog was shaking like a leaf and ran under the bed. Called the front desk. They said it was "the neighbors". Um, no neighbors except a closed mall. They didn't do anything about these illegal dangerous explosions. I tried calling sheriff to Report but no one around. They charge for parking now, BTW. Nice little hotel, but won't be back for July 4. read more

Leaky front atrium when it's raining. Breakfast was infuriating. No meat. No bacon. No sausages. Two days in a row. They didn't run out. They just didn't bother to serve it. Scrambled eggs and sadness. Potatoes and oatmeal. No milk for the cereal. Stale breads. I confiscated a coffee mug to put my rage in. We had booked a room across the 101 at Motel 6 for an event in Thousand Oaks. We needed an early check-in. Motel 6 was charging $90 for the room on a Sunday afternoon and wanted an extra $20 for that. We immediately canceled our reservation there and drove to the Palm Garden Hotel. After checking online we saw that the Palm Garden was only $25 more than what Motel 6 was charging. What a huge improvement this hotel was over that place! Excellent service, FREE early check-in, breakfast included, beautiful pool and grounds. We didn't get a chance to visit the restaurant but the front desk even gave us free drink tickets. We needed a place to stay for marathon weekend and found the Palm Garden Hotel through Bookings.com. It was conveniently located near the freeway and shopping centers, and the price seemed reasonable at the time. The hotel has a motel-like feel and offers free breakfast, which we enjoyed on our first day. The spread included the usual options: scrambled eggs, toast, sausage, bagels, oatmeal, etc. While we didn't take advantage of the amenities, we did notice families enjoying the pool during the day. The exterior, pool, and garden were well-maintained, but the interior of our room felt a bit outdated. We stayed for three nights, and the room always felt a bit musty and humid, even with the AC running. There were some stains on the carpet, but the bathrooms were clean. If you're a light sleeper, be aware that the rooms aren't soundproof; we could hear footsteps, cars, and conversations in the evening. For $550 over three nights, it didn't quite feel as affordable as we had hoped. read more

Found this cool hotel while in the area, was looking for a decent nights stay after a long week on the road and this was it. A very good place to stay for a night or longer. Even with the current renovation project going on. Great front desk staff literally went out of their way to make me and my business partner feel welcome, and that our business was appreciated. Very comfortable outside areas to sit and enjoy the interior private grounds, that are surprizely very spread out there are interior gathering areas for small and large groups, a covered gazebo, along with cabanas around the pool and spa area. My room was comfortable, quiet, very clean and a nice break from my week on the road. The king bed was comfortable, the shower had nice pressure and plenty of hot water. Along with the standard amenities of a mini fridge, microwave and coffee station, there was a desk and chair and a seating area. Breakfast is included as well, the kitchen has a daily menu that you receive at check in for the next morning, call in your order and its ready for your pick up. The scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes was good, with coffee and juice and served its purpose for getting on the road the next day. Made to feel welcome by all staff encountered, from the kitchen, lounge and from desk. Great interior private courtyard area and comfortable sleeping accommodations. My boyfriend and I were looking for a dog friendly spot to stay in the middle of L.A. and Solvang for our home base for the weekend trip and this spot worked great. The only issue we had was that our TV couldn't find any channels all weekend but I actually didn't mind because it was easier to get my boyfriend to leave the room for our sightseeing than when he gets sucked into an HGTV show. We asked the front desk to send maintenance in at one point but they couldn't figure out what the problem was either. They ended up taking a bit off our stay for the inconvenience when I mentioned it at check out though. At the time we stayed (February 2022), they were offering breakfast for pick up and it was just mediocre with eggs, potatoes, sausage and toast and all of it in need of seasoning. Absolutely amazing hotel and service! We had our son's 3rd birthday party here and all I can say was that it was PERFECT. We had the pleasure of working with Daniel and he is hands down the most amazing manager. He was so helpful and sweet and made everything a breeze. We really can't thank him enough for everything he did to make this day special. We also had the pleasure of working with Nicole and she made booking the food so easy and she was so responsive. The food was the highlight it was absolutely delicious! Onto the rooms holy moly the garden suite and the Hollywood suite are INCREDIBLE. I highly recommend these rooms to anyone looking to have a fun place to hang out and sleep. They are designed so perfectly and were just perfect. The pool cabanas and the pool 10/10. It has the perfect lay out for kids with a Baja shelf for the littles to enjoy the pool. My kids spent hours swimming and the smiles were endless. I love that there is a restaurant connected to the hotel called Selvins. My friends and I walked over and enjoyed the most delicious dinner and drinks we've ever had. The ambiance was breath taking and the service was superb. It was so nice to walk to our hotel room after indulging in one of the best nights we had in a while. I had to choose this hotel remotely without looking at it in person first, because I was out of town. It's not as fancy as advertised. It's like a regular hotel/motel. I chose it because of the pictures it looked really nice online and it looked really fancy and accommodating. This was a hotel stay for my wedding. My wedding venue was somewhere else. This hotel was definitely not accommodating they didn't even have hot tea for me to have in my room. Even when I went to the front desk to try to get a cup of hot tea, they didn't have any. It was a really basic hotel with a really fancy looking front desk. The rooms were pretty basic. They were clean, but they were pretty small. The hotel rooms are very far away from the front desk. You have to walk a far distance to get to the front desk, depending on where your room is because the hotel is very spread out. Also no elevators to bring your luggage up on the higher floors. The breakfast in the morning was pretty good. It was fresh and they had good options. This wasn't the vibe I was looking for on my wedding nights. Plus, it was very expensive at the time of booking. It was definitely not worth the price. Additionally, my friend tried to send me a bottle of champagne to my room for when I got back from the wedding, and they never sent it. I actually had to call and ask where her gift was for me, and then they finally brought it. The hotel advertises, a hair salon, and a spa. However, it's very difficult to even get an appointment in either of them because I have tried. They don't have enough staff to accommodate if you happen to want to get a massage or a facial or your hair done. Overall, the hotel is something I would have booked on a more casual night and I'm not happy with the fact that they advertise it as a very fancy hotel but it's really not that fancy. It's not what it looks like. I recall in person being surprised it was nothing like the photos and the accommodations they advertise were lacking 100000%. read more

Had a nice stay at this hotel, located just off the 101 in Thousand Oaks. 4 stars based on value paid for room and complimentary items (daily - breakfasts, 2 drinks, parking). Rooms appear to have been renovated recently and are really nice looking. Stayed in room with 2 queen sized beds. Refrigerator is good sized with separate freezer for a hotel. Only down side, but not big deal, was loud air conditioner (ear plugs worked) and sink that could use a towel rack (draped over mirror arm). Hotel lobby and restaurant were under construction. Lobby reopened at the end of our stay (see pics). Complimentary breakfast and 2 drinks (at front desk) are provided daily. Since restaurant was closed, breakfast was prepackaged and picked up at their make shift kitchen. Nothing fancy, but much appreciated. On our last day (after main entrance reopened), the breakfast was buffet style and opened to all on the patio. Not certain, but breakfasts may now be changed since lobby area has reopened. Restaurant and bar are still under construction. Looks like it'll be really nice once completed. Will return again! read more

You cannot open the windows to refresh the room, there is no soundproofing so if people have a party on the patio under your room until late at night, you don't sleep. I've stayed at the Palm Garden Hotel several times, and it never disappoints. The location is fantastic, offering easy access to nightlife, hiking, biking, and golfing in the beautiful Conejo Valley. Under new management, the hotel has a very noticeable fresh and modern look that far exceeds its price point. The attached bar/nightclub isn't quite open yet, but definitely shows great promise. I'm no polished critic within the hospitality industry, but the general manager of this property has obviously ensured the property is appealing, staff is highly trained, and most definitely understands attention to the smallest of details that provide a memorable experience for guests. What truly stands out is the exceptional service, from the friendly registration staff to housekeeping. For the several times I've stayed there, the registration staff has made me feel like a VIP. Housekeeping staff go out of their way to ensure that needs are met. The rooms are immaculate, and the attention to detail is evident. I've never seen a single water spot on the large sliding glass shower doors or the bathroom mirror. Plantation style shutters on the windows are a nice modern touch. Art decor and the manner housekeeping staff creatively fold and place towels is impressive The recently renovated heated pool area and spacious patio seating with gas fire pits add to the charm. The one king or two queen-bed rooms are consistently comfortable and well-maintained. The hotel provides 24/7 coffee from a top California roasting company, A Special Blend from Santa Barbara, California. The daily buffet-style breakfast offers a variety of options. The inclusion of Keurig-style coffee makers and room fridges is a nice touch. Ample parking is available, and during my stays, I never experienced any construction noise. If I had to mention any MINOR drawbacks, it's that the on-screen TV guide may not always provide channel information, but this is a small issue considering the overall quality of this property. Also, although the plantation shutters are a very nice decorative touch, they do tend to lend more morning light into the room. For those who prefer "black-out" curtains to sleep in, this may be an issue. Kudos to the dedicated staff and management for making Palm Garden Hotel my first and likely anyones best choice in Ventura County. read more

We selected this hotel based on proximity to an event. Room was clean. Ac was great. Close proximity to the highway but couldn't hear noise. Grounds are well kept. Beautiful flowers and fountains. Pool area has comfy chairs. Bed was stiff and both of our backs hurt in the morning. Great checkout time at 12:00. Breakfast closes at 9:30 on weekends, later would be ideal. read more

Great little hotel, small rooms but very clean. We had 5 rooms for my daughter's memorial. The housekeeping staff left beautiful, towels with floral Trimmings. Such a kind thoughtful gesture during a difficult time. The front desk staff was wonderful as well. i would suggest the coutyard rooms as the parking lot side had homeless individuals often digging through the trash. The pool area is lovely. We didn't have the opportunity to dine on the restaurant but we will next time. Friends that live in town rave about the food! read more

Check in and check out process was good. I had a 2nd floor room facing towards the parking area. The rooms were updated and better than expected. The breakfast was your typical free breakfast of eggs, breads, cereals, sausages, etc. It's actually in a great location when you really think about it. It's in the same plaza as a Ralph's so whenever you need anything it's just a minute walk to there, there are a couple of fast food places in that same plaza and right across the street is a Starbucks, a boba shop, and a really good Chinese restaurant. The property itself was pretty quiet. No noise issues for me, I stayed over thanksgiving and never heard any partying or any of the other typical noises you expect to hear during holidays. The downside was they were still doing construction to the property so the onsite restaurant wasn't open. But overall I liked the staff and with everything so close by it was extremely convenient for me. I would definitely recommend. read more
