    Bedbugs pt. 1
    Criss C.

Stay here and your $90/night charge will provide you with: -a strong urine and/or bleach odor -spiders and webs -nonfunctional keys/doorknobs -stained everything (and I mean everything, curtains, sheets, carpet, tiles) And last but not least, the very best amenity: -a bed full of bedbugs I so deeply wish I was making this up. But I'm not, and I'm forever traumatized by this experience. Please, if you're reading this, I beg you not to stay at Bayshore Inn.

    Furniture

The hotel room was not very clean, the furniture was so stained I did not want to sit on them. The window latch Was broken from clearly being broken into before which was alarming since we were on the bottom floor facing Main Street. I went to get into bed and the sheets were filthy and had blood stains on them so I had to sleep on top of the comforter and use my clothing as blankets. There is no one to call after the office closes around 11 PM there was no one to talk to you in the morning when I checked out I had to just drop my key in a little slot in the window

We came on a Saturday early afternoon and started at one of their restaurants. The food was amazing, but service was definitely on the slower side. The resort is huge and has so many activities tennis, golf, bike rentals and more. After that, we headed over to the spa and spent the rest of the day relaxing by the pool. The vibe was so calm, mostly women just chatting, unwinding, and enjoying each other in this peaceful little paradise. We ordered smoothies poolside and omg...so fresh and refreshing. Service at the spa pool was great, everyone seemed to be working together seamlessly and checking in often without being overbearing. Non-Functional Fireplaces: Despite booking rooms specifically for their private fireplaces, neither unit was operational. Maintenance staff confirmed they were aware of these defects prior to our arrival, yet the rooms were still marketed. The main resolution offered was to use the public fireplace. Chromecast and AC were both very finicky as well, not what you expect from a luxury resort. Noise issues: Mgmt seems to endorse rowdy parties at their restaurants vs maintaining a serene setting. And room walls are thin so if you have the misfortune of being by a wild child, good luck sleeping. There are some nice perks and amenities (grounds are great, some free gym classes (not all), the turn down service (appreciate the proactively cords wrapping). Mgmt tried to an extent to help make things right, but were focused more on their economics vs customer experience. Cool to see a raccoon prowling the outdoor fireplace area at night though.

During breakfast the first morning, there was an older couple, and the wife burned her finger on the waffle maker. She then got pissed and started yelling at her husband because he didn't react the way she thought he should. Then a second couple came in the next morning, and they were fighting too! People seemed to be disturbed by something here. During the second night is when things got interesting. About 1:30 am I was awoken randomly. As I laid there in bed, I could hear some very loud but muffled screaming. It was a man's voice. I sounded like English, but I couldn't understand it, even though I should have been able to. As the screaming and yelling continued, it sounded like a large bowling ball was being thrashed around the room. It rattled the wall as I had my ear pressed up against it trying to figure out what the in the hell was going on. It was pretty scary, and I don't scare easily. It's actually really hard to explain and convey what I heard and felt. This went on and on, as I debated waking up my wife and getting out of there. It was at that point I decided to pray. I said, Jesus, please make whatever that is stop so I know my wife and son will be okay. The very second I ended my prayer, the noise stopped completely. I was really surprised, which led me to believe that may have been a spirit because the prayer ended that nonsense immediately. After a 2 second google search, it was documented many times that this hotel is commonly haunted. And the breakfast is greasy paper like bacon, and sausage. There is a waffle maker though!

It's kind of like a motel six with a little bit cleaner, Carpet. The parking is pretty packed at night. You may want to Uber somewhere if you're going to go into town. The pool area was pretty quiet. I will say, but definitely felt like the hotel had been through the ringer and has not come out of the washing machine I haven't really spent a whole lot of time in Ventura since cannabis has been legalized, and it's unfortunate that you can't open your patio door at night and get fresh air because people are outside smoking pot by the pool While I'm grateful the bed what's clean it basically I going to get here there's no atmosphere at all and the breakfast is free but very limited not that you need that much because you're only a block from the beach and you do you want to take advantage of that I'm a big café Fiorie fan and Hotel is about seven blocks away If you're not in into Bike riding along the ocean, this may not be ideal for you and the rate for Junetenth was just ok I also think it's pretty balls you need to charge $10 for a parking spot when you have to kind of take a hike once the upper level filled up When I booked this hotel, I did not see anywhere on the application. I used about the $25 fee nor did they quote that when I called the day before they just said call after 9 AM. Well, this is becoming a van Gogh situation so I'm going to go find a sewing kit and hopefully I won't have to pay another $25 to put your ear back on lol

There is a table right at the window so you can enjoy dining/reading/sitting with an incredible and private VIEW! This time we got the only accommodation that has TWO rooms-- so it felt like a small apartment without a kitchen! It's extra spacious and allowed everyone to have their privacy. The rooms are SUPER cute! Yes, the furniture is old. Yes, it looks like grandma's house. But from someone who has stayed in luxury resorts most of the time, these charming and timeless rooms have a special place in my heart. I'm not even sure if this makes sense, but the ambiance welcomes you with open arms and makes you feel right at home. It truly feels like I came to grandmas house. It feels so familiar and I know for a fact, staying here is healing my inner child each time. We all know the views are absolutely incredible-- I mean... breakfast buffet overlooking the cliffs AND you can watch surfers and dolphins in the distance while you enjoy your food? Can't get better than that. You can go visit the shore during low tide or walk over to the pier that leads to an island! This hotel is tucked away from the city and I absolutely love the seclusion. Although it's right next to the highway, staying here feels like stepping into a peaceful parallel universe-- the world still moves on the other side of the wall, but you're suspended in your own quiet, dreamlike bubble until it's time to return to reality. The service is too notch! She has gone out of her way to accommodate us and never made any request feel like it was too much or an inconvenience. If you thought this place couldn't get any better, it DOES-- they have a Restaurant that serves lunch and dinner!!! Let me stop before I write a novel. This has literally become my favorite hotel.

The staff seemed to be trying hard, but it felt like they were either understaffed or not properly trained. The biggest issue for me, however, was the lack of service in the M Club Lounge. I arrived Friday night and checked out Sunday morning, and during that entire time the lounge was never properly restocked, refreshed, serviced, or even cleaned. As a Lifetime Titanium member, that was extremely disappointing. At that point, it makes you question why you chose this Marriott property in the first place when the key elite benefit isn't being maintained. I honestly would have considered another Marriott property -- or even a Hilton -- had I known. I brought the issue up to the front desk, but they seemed somewhat oblivious to the fact that this is a core guest amenity issue, not just something reserved for weekday corporate travelers. The hotel definitely has potential, but it needs stronger management attention and better operational oversight to deliver the level of experience expected from the brand.
