It's been a while since I've visited this place, but it's still the same as I remember! I recently stopped by to grab a few mini cakes to bring over to a friend's house. I ordered a few of the palm palm cake, banana cake, cassava cake and the pandan jellies (a mung bean one and a taro one). My favorite used to be the banana cake, but I think I like the cassava cake the most now! They all have a soft and somewhat chewy texture, and they're not too sweet. Stopped by Palm Palm Sweet for a quick drink this afternoon. I got the Thai green tea (per owner's suggestion) and it was very good. It tasted like a light matcha with some jello topping. I ate all the jello in a few minutes and it was so good, I asked the lady if I can buy extra. She said yes. She gave me the crystal boba topping by mistake. :) I frantically stirred my cup of tea looking for the green jello cubes. Ha ha Where's the jello, I asked? The young girl in the store said, she wanted the jello, what did you give her? She hurried into the kitchen and gave me some jello. Ahh so good. But I am paying the price for not following my rule: no caffeine after 12:00 noon. It's 3:00 AM now and I am writing this review because I couldn't go to sleep!!! Not good = not a good thing to do. This is our new fav to-go place for che. Why it's not more popular are probably left up to a few things. I'm so excited to have found a Vietnamese desserts store that does not use artificial food colors! I have found the diamond in the rough! I have shyed away from these desserts due to the artificial food colors and wouldn't dare feed them to my children. Service was great. The lady at the counter spent time to explain to me she used the flowers to extract the colors for her desserts. She pointed out herbal, non-caffeinated options for my kids. We got the Banh Da Lon, Summer Dessert, and Almond Panna Cotta Dessert. Everything tasted delicious and perfectly sweetened - refreshing and not too sweet! They use credit cards. When looking around the restaurant, I noticed sauces and hot sauce. To my surprise they also serve Vietnamese vegetarian dishes. This makes so much sense to me they are health conscious and care about the ingredients they use in everything they make. I can't wait to return to try out other food and desserts on their menu. This is a cute little store with sweet treats and drinks inside the Supermarket Plaza. The cashiers were really sweet and helpful. Prices were pretty good here. Chè (a Vietnamese dessert drink) was $7, small snacks were $1.50, bigger snacks $2.50-$6, and drinks were around $5.50-$6. Overall, the che and drinks were good. The drinks just had a lot of ice. The dessert snacks were yummy, I'd come back for those. Steamed Rice Cake (Bánh Bò Hấp) 5/5 - The rice cake was soft and fluffy. It also came with a coconut sauce that was sweet, decadent, and delicious. I really enjoyed this. Brown Sugar Winter Melon (Sâm Bí Đao) 5/5 - Never had this before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was actually pretty sweet and refreshing. Palm Palm Dessert (Chè Bánh Lọt) 4/5 - Pretty good che. Though you can taste a bit of the saltines which was odd, maybe to bring out the sweet flavor? Stopped by to get a dessert drink but was also enticed with the mini banana bread, palm bread and this green thick jelly pandan dessert. The banana bread is not super sweet, but the slices of banana with drizzle sweetness make the taste balance out. I've gotten the banana bread at other viet bakeries, and it can get too sweet after 3 bites. The palm bread was good too, not overly sweet. For me, this was exactly up my alley. The dessert drink, I forgot the name, but it had chia seeds, green jelly, red agar jicama bits, and a couple of logans. I asked the owner if it was sweet, and she said no. They use coconut water as the base. It wasn't as sweet as other drinks I've gotten at other places. I liked this drink, very refreshing. If you are looking to try a new coffee drink, I discovered Palm Palm Sweet's butterfly pea latte and it is so good! It has a unique floral taste contrasted with coffee flavor which brings out this interesting blend you've probably never tasted before. I ask for less coffee and more butterfly pea so it doesn't have as strong of a coffee taste but that is a personal preference. The shop is small but clean and welcoming. Such a cute little spot hidden away in the SF Supermarket plaza! FYI this shop is connected to the supermarket and is accessible from both in and outside of the market. Came here with a friend around their opening and staff were incredibly sweet! I got their Hibiscus flower tea and it had the perfect blend of floral and fruity with a signature "not-too-sweet" taste. Yelp lists an online website for this business with an online ordering system, however when we went there they said the order is cancelled and that the online ordering system no longer exists because they can't handle it. Well it's still active... The only thing they had left were banana cakes. The portion is decent and they put a lot of banana in it, however after a few bites it tasted like the banana wasn't ripe yet and left a very rough taste on my tongue. The palm palm dessert consists of black beans, pandan worms and the red chestnut jelly. The worms are good, and the black beans were interesting as it's uncommon. The chestnut jelly wasn't chewy enough. They also added salt to the drink so it is somewhat more balanced but there's nothing special about it and lacks variety. read more

I ended up getting a brown sugar wintermelon herbal tea drink and flan with some coffee poured on top of it (something I haven't heard of before, and an option to add more flavor!).
