This vet was great for wellness exams but beyond that- very unresponsive when you have a sick animal . We kept voicing our concerns and were shrugged off as just food intolerance. This went on for several months with no resolution. Had to call office for follow up test results multiple times before getting a response- Dr is not in, not available, too busy. It's been over 3 weeks and still no response from the doctor. We have since changed vets- wish we would have done it sooner. We lost our Dog due to their lack of concern. We do NOT recommend this veterinary clinic. read more

Our Tuxedo kitty, Sukie almost 15 years old, was occasionally snapping at us while being brushed. This behavior increased in frequency during the last 8 months. Even licking the brush(?) during each session. And during the last 5 days, started to urinate where she was not supposed to. Took Sukie into Palm Valley Animal Clinic, where she has always gone for checkups. Her teeth needed cleaned and two removed. The surgery was completed by Palm Valley Animal Clinic by Dr Hatch, In four days post-surgical, Sukie demeanor has improved remarkably. No more snapping, no more licking the brush, litter box exclusively used, and very lovable demeanor. We now figure the brush licking was Sukie's method to try and fix the mouth pain she was going through. Coming back to review this wonderful animal clinic. Dr. Hatch Jr and his entire team are just that, a team. Not only for your animals but for you as well. We had to make the tough call, but right call, to allow our little 20 year old kitty to pass the rainbow bridge and there is NOBODY we would rather have been with in those final hours. We literally called mor than once and they squeezed us in. We trust Dr Hatch, and he goes above and beyond to CARE for your animals and does what is best foe them in the most "easy," way possible. No suffering, and no pain. We no doubt had an "easier," experience although never easy because of their love and caring. As we left after saying good bye for as long as we needed, we went about our day crying, feeling and being there. We toasted and cheers our sweet kitty Wax so many times and then Dr. Hatch called to share the experience and give us closure. Again, EVERYONE needs a Dr. Hatch. Forever grateful and thankful. An established and loyal patient, but when one of my dogs contracted lepto, he only sent her home with nausea meds to wait for tests to come back despite me asking repeatedly for iv fluids and her kidneys shut down that night and the emergency vet couldn't save her by that point. The emergency vet did a rapid test and found the lepto immediately. The vets test didn't come back until days after she had died. And to add insult to injury, he refused to treat my other two dogs who are his patients with antibiotics since they were exposed to the lepto without a full exam and wait for lepto tests to come back positive, so ended up taking them to emergency vet who said it was actually standard of care to treat dogs exposed to lepto immediately and reported to the cdc. read more

All of the doctors there are great. They are so patient and take the time to listen. Dr. Hatch has been really great with our cats. Very honest about necessity vs. optional treatments. A few years ago I had a cat that was going all over the house all of a sudden. We ruled out health issues and Dr. B took the time to talk and offer solutions. We tried Feliway and thankfaully it fixed it. Now I have adopted a puppy and it is challenging. Once again Dr. Bdfcx took the time to listen and offer good advice. read more

I really liked this clinic, even though they are somewhat expensive compared to others. I thought it was worth it. I recently adopted a dog from the shelter and was told to follow up with my personal vet a week after the neuter and shots to get my new dog established as a new patient. WELL, I was 18 minutes late, did not expect the volume of traffic plus my new dog is a rambunctious 7 month old puppy that I had a very hard time getting in the car. (In fact had to chase him down the street but such is life with a new pup!) The girl at the front desk said she had to see if they could see me as the next appointment had already arrived. I told her I understood I was late but I could wait. 18 minutes is a lot of time for a vet to be waiting for me I guess. Well they said I had to reschedule for another day, now, there is nothing wrong with my dog, this was just a meet and greet, check stiches from his neuter I would imagine and tell me something about the dog I had adopted. As I was driving 14 miles back home I thought this was a bit unreasonable and not sure I need to travel so far to see a vet that couldn't look at what the perimeter of the appointment and just give me the 5 minutes he usually does!!!!!! We have been taking all of our dogs to Palm Valley Animal Clinic since we moved here 21 years ago. Dr. Hatch Jr. is one of the most compassionate vets I have ever dealt with. After reading some of the negative reviews, I felt the need to respond. To those of you complaining that they are not taking new patients, this practice has been around for a long time. Have you considered that they don't want to overextend themselves so they can provide the best care for their current patients? We have ALWAYS had incredible care from the entire staff! If there is something that they can't handle, they refer you to specialists that can help. Sometimes, you may get a diagnosis you don't want, but that is a part of life, just like with human medical care. As long as we have a dog, we will continue to use this practice!!! read more

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PET, STOP SCROLLING AND READ THIS!!! PLEASE. My husband and I had been bringing our dogs to Palm Valley Animal Clinic for a few years since moving from NY. They would go in for check ups, vaccines, and the occasional allergy shot. They started our dog on a new allergy medication that required blood work every month as it has the potential to cause serious side effects. Initially, our dog was great, but after about two weeks she appeared as though she was, in fact, having possible side effects from this medication. We stopped giving it to her and called the vet hoping she could be quickly evaluated. The soonest we could be seen was about two weeks out--so we made that appointment. Her symptoms worsened and we called to see if she could come in any sooner. They said no and instructed us to go to the nearest pet ER--so we did, immediately. The ER said her symptoms may or may not be related to the new medication, but sent us home with pain meds and instructions to follow up with our vet within the week. We called every. single. day. to ask Palm Valley if they could get us in for an earlier visit. The answer was always "no". When we started asking real questions, they became uncomfortable and said there was nothing they could do over the phone. We were advised to keep our original appointment because they couldn't squeeze her in any sooner. The office manager, Barb, called us the day before our scheduled visit and CANCELED IT. She said we were "threatening" over the phone, which couldn't be farther from the truth. When it was made clear that we hadn't made any threats, she changed the story and claimed we couldn't come in because we had "refused further testing" at the ER. When we told her we hadn't refused anything and simply wanted to be seen by a vet that we thought we could trust, she told us that Dr. Hatch would not see us and she'd be happy to send our records elsewhere. We pleaded with this vet EVERY DAY to be seen earlier to evaluate our dog for a potential life-threatening side effect of a medication that THEY prescribed. This is not only negligence, it's a complete lack of empathy or concern for their patients. If your pet needs a vaccine, who cares who gives it. If they're young and healthy, sure, why not go here for a check up. But if you love your dog like we do and plan to see your vet for years, I'd be VERY wary. There's a very good chance they will show your pet the same courtesy as they did ours, and leave them out in the rain on their death bed. If this was your family member, which if you're this far into the review it very well could be, would YOU want to be put in this situation? I don't think so, which is why I URGE you to find a different facility. To Dr. Hatch, office manager Barb, and the vet tech that clearly had a problem with us asking simple yet educated questions...shame on you. We hope you feel even just an ounce of the pain and torment you've put our family through. read more

Rating is -10!!!!! My dear friend is 87 years old. Has lost her husband and a son and been coping with lymphoma for the past two years! Always had a smile for everyone! Her 17 year old dog became ill overnight and was dying. She called this clinic where she had taken her dog for 17 years and they said they could get her in in two weeks! They offered no help!! She told them she was coming in anyway as she was desperate! When she arrived carrying her dog and sobbing the vet yelled at her!!! Screamed at her!! Said to sign and pay over $500 and leave him and they would kill him that night and NO she couldn't come back to hold him! Never take an animal to this place!!!! She took her dog home and her neighbor got him into her vet where they very lovingly put him down. God Bless kind people! read more

Could not recommend them more Since my last review, we had our 14-year-old Shepherd/Grayhound mix pass away. She lost lower body control, experienced seizures, and couldn't potty or eat. We eventually had to make the decision to euthanize after watching her struggle so much one weekend. The vet and his crew were amazingly kind and considerate. The emphasis was on making Chloie comfortable. Our 13-year-old Cocker Spaniel, who was dealing with liver failure, stopped eating much directly after. Working with the vet, we made her as comfortable as possible and spent a good amount of time playing a little and cuddling. She just seemed to miss her "sister" too much and would lay in Chloie's spot and sniff around for her. Malie died peacefully one morning, about two months later. Again, the PVAC was supportive throughout-- meds to take away pain and keep some weight on, helped us take care of the body, no crazy procedures with little chance of success, and sent us a condolence card afterward. So, in two months, we saw a world of compassion from Palm Calley Animal Clinic. Animals and their families are respected in every way. We were lucky to have found them. read more

My little guy was feeling down for a while, so I took him to see Dr. Hatch. He spent time talking to me and examining Ollie. While there is some dental work that needs to be done, I walked away with an understanding of what was going on, some medication and advice as to what I should do. I was told to call back in 2 days to discuss how Ollie was acting. I must say that a day after the first administration of the medication, Ollie was looking more like his old self. The problems he was exhibiting were significantly less and he was happily running around. He is not an old dog so I was concerned. We absolutely loved coming here. Our dog hurt his eye while staying at a family friends house and it was completely red. He is a 6 year old German Shephard, he's our baby so we were very hesitant about taking him anywhere. Despite our dog being very unfriendly and growling at the staff they never stopped smiling at him and speaking kindly. The two nurses and the doctor Wayne were all very patient with us. They still made sure to check him out throughly even though he was being uncooperative. Oh and we spent way less than we expected! :) I highly recommend taking your pets here. read more

Wonderful care and service. I can't recommend Dr. Hatch enough. He is a true care-giver of animals.

My dog is 11 years old and had been going to see Dr. Hatch since she was a pup. During her last visit she was seen by a new vet due to shoulder pain. We asked if she needed X-rays, she said no, gave us meds and let us go. Two months later my dog still has the same issue, we call and they refer us to someone else. Turns out my dog has osteosarcoma (cancer). Leg had to be amputated because they didn't take X-rays. I will never go back to this clinic, and will never recommend them again. read more

I've been taking my dog here for 2 years and recently got a puppy that I take here too. I think Dr. Hatch is an amazing vet and has the best bedside manner. He always seems so excited to see you dog(s). However, recently I find the receptionist, assistants/techs to be not so nice. They're always rude or have smart attitudes. I have Nationwide pet insurance. One of my coworkers goes to a vet in Surprise that does the paperwork for them and sends it in. When I asked about that here the response I got was "ok......no". I also had to ask for my puppies appointment for a second round of shots. Normally a vet office will tell you and make the appointment right then. I won't be going back since I'm not fond of the staff. read more

I'm happy to see that this vets office has made positive impacts on people's lives. I'm glad that they provided great service to people and took care of the animals that they love. But what I experienced yesterday with this office and the employees I cannot stand for. I came home yesterday to find my puppies eyes swollen shut. Immediately I began looking for something he could have gotten into that caused this so I would have an idea what to tell the vets. This clinic is the closest, by far, vets office in my area so I knew exactly where to go. There was nothing broken or chewed so I had no idea what was wrong with him, so of course I was panicking. When I came into the office, with a big puppy in my arms (a Siberian Husky) the employee didn't even acknowledge me. She didn't even look at me. She just sipped her latte and slowly walked behind the counter and told another woman someone was there with a dog that doesn't look good. I didn't want to appear unhinged, which I was, so I waited until the woman came and told her 'I didn't know what happened, maybe kitty litter is in his eyes' please help. I literally said 'please help'. She didn't ask any questions. She just stared at me and told me to wait. Someone behind the counter said "they don't have an appointment" to which the woman said to me "we only do appointments and your not scheduled for one". I was already running out the door when she handed my mom a flyer for the emergency animal clinic 2 miles away. I said I was going to leave a review so here it is. What kind of veterinarian turns a young woman with a dog in her hands away because they don't have an appointment? No one was in the building except for employees obviously not wanting to be inconvenienced. I would be so much more understanding of they had been helpful or polite but the demeanor of the women I saw working there was so arrogant, unconcerned and rotten I had to share my experience. Once we reached E.A.C. I was met at the door by the doctors, grabbing my dog and rushing him to the back. He was stung by a bee or a spider and was having an allergic reaction that could have caused cardiac arrest. No appointment necessary. He's doing fine now and is back to his happy self. I thank them very much for their immediate response and help. I highly recommend going to these vets over this business any day. I question their abilities as veterinarians. I was able to get an appointment (same day) and took my dog in for allergies and an ear infection. The office was nice, and even had a little atrium area to sit in with your pet. The doctor was very kind and he seemed to really care about my pup. It's just really sad that a couple of his staff members were so rude. The vet tech was very impatient with my dog, and one of the "girls" at the front desk was extremely anti-social. (I'm sure the clinic is loosing a lot of customers because of this.) However, the other girl at the desk was nice enough to make up for the anti-social one, sort of. The prices are higher than the other vet I've been to (i.e, Apoquel, labwork, and the exam fee), and they even charged me $80 for a microchip that I later found out I could have gotten elsewhere for $20. So even though I liked the vet here, I won't be going back because of the rude employees and high prices. read more

This is a wonderful clinic to take your pet too. I have taken a couple of my dogs to this location and have been very pleased. The staff is friendly and they take good care of my babies. I have been to different vets all over Phoenix and even Tucson and no one compares to Palm Valley. I have had my dogs spayed and neutered here, and they did such an excellent job. I have heard horror stories about other places so I was hesitant to take my dogs anywhere, but the staff here put my mind at ease. My dogs healed so well, and I didn't experience any problems. We love Dr. Hatch and every other vet and tech at Palm Valley!! Dr. Hatch is very thorough and truly cares about all his furry patients. We got a puppy this year and have been in and out more frequently than we would like due to some medical concerns, but Dr. Hatch has walked us through everything step by step and follows up closely. We had to go to the emergency clinic Sunday night and Monday morning Dr. Hatch called us just to check in on our pup(we did not even contact him to let them know we were in the emergency room, he must have received the records). I'm very pleased with Palm Valley clinic, the staff was very friendly, they contacted the emergency hospital we went to before and requested all of my cat's tests and exams information prior to our appointment. We've been going to Palm Valley for about 10 years now and have nothing but good things to say. They are always responsive and courteous and I really trust them with my dogs. We just got a new puppy and found out she has worms and an abundance of ticks. I called first thing in the morning and had an appointment for the same day just a few hours later. They safely removed all of the ticks and got her started right away on a dewormer. I wish my regular family physician was this good! :) read more
