I couldn't be happier with Palm Villas and the way they look after my mom. She's always very clean, safe and comfortable. Her bedding and clothes are laundered daily and she's well cared for. After having a bad experience with a corporate place, it's such a relief to be dealing with a privately owned memory care establishment. Garry, the owner is on top of things and if you ever have a problem, one call into him puts things right--instantly! He's also a very nice guy and his team are also very caring, thoughtful and experienced. Everyone who works there has experience working with the elderly. They anticipate your loved one's needs and they're never hard to reach on the phone or by email. The facilities are always clean and tidy and their prices are competitive. My mom was here for a couple of years until she died in 2015. We moved her from the sunrise in Palo Alto (memory wing) because the care was inconsistent there. My moms doctor recommended palm villas. It wasn't very fancy looking but we were really happy with the care. There was low turnover. Good food -- I remember seeing cooks roll out fresh dough for a pie. Our mother lived at Palm Villas for the last two years of her life. This was the perfect home for her. A small, carefully staffed facility for frail seniors with dementia at the end of their lives. Our mom was well taken care of. Clean, happy, busy, stimulated. Good food. Angelic staff understanding the challenges and limitations of dementia care. Garry send us regular photos of mom interacting with others, enjoying activities. We can't say enough about Garry and his team. With one small exception, which was quickly rectified, it was outstanding. They were proactive about locking down when the pandemic hit and we were restricted from visiting a full week before the county law prohibited it. Careful. Safe. My father was under the care of Palm Villas for 8 months. In that time, he was well taken care of and he really enjoyed living there. They provided full care for my father, such as dressing, hygienic services, social and brain training, and nutritional meals. He participated in daily activities and he made friends that he regularly sat with. He liked the activities so much that he never wanted to miss one. The size was perfect for him. It felt like a family setting. The Palm Villas staff always kept me up to date. Even in the times to share good news! They would call if he was having a really good morning and I would come to spend that special time with him. And if there ever was an issue or if my father needed something, they would call. I relied and trusted them for advice. They were always extremely helpful and easy to work with. The facility is very clean and smells nice. There is also a nice outdoor courtyard with birds and rabbits where the residents can sit and relax. The owners also have small dogs that are off leash and walk around with residents. The nursing staff were knowledgeable, informative, and very caring and nice. They were perfect for my father in his state of dementia and Alzheimer's. When my father needed hospice care, Palm Villas recommended a hospice company that was already working with some other residents. It made for a very easy transition. Everything about this place is abyssmal and unprofessional. For a detailed review, see my blog. The day after Easter I visited my husband, no appointment, and found him sitting in the dining room after dinner time, with blood dripping from his forehead and RED all over his shirt. My proof: he was taken by me in my car, to Marin memorial hospital, and admitted with 102 fever, pneumonia, and a mild concotion. ONE week in the hospital! NO ONE FROM PALM VILLA EVEN CALLED ME. This place is horrible. They break tons of rules, but there is no enforcing agency. VERY SAD! read more

If you are struggling with the decision about where to place your elderly parent who has dementia, struggle now more Palm Villas is a great place. When Our mom no longer knew she was at home it seemed like a good time to place her somewhere where she could get the care she needed. Palm Villas have 2 locations, Michelle White met us at both and helped up find the best fit for our 94 year old mother. We decided on the RWC location but both places are clean and welcoming. The owners Mike and Gary are often present and very engaged with the residents and staff. The Nurse ( Melissa) and the med techs are on the ball and really understand the individual needs of the residents. The Activities staff and the care staff are terrific. Nothing is too much trouble. Our Mom settled in very fast, adapted easily and joined in the wonderful daily life in the facility, she loved the exercises, bingo, music and puzzles and she also love to play the piano there which was just down the hall from her room. Honestly it was a very hard decision for us to place Mom in a memory care facility. Sadly she had a severe heart condition and only lived 6 weeks after she moved in, our only regret is she did not get to enjoy her new home longer. read more

The Palm Villas is such a blessing to have in the Bay Area. They were able to take my mom who was recovering with covid and bring her back to a normal mental state. We chose Palm Villas in Redwood City back in 2018 as the memory care facility for taking good care of my father. We were looking for a facility that was medium sized and not part of a giant corporate organization. The team at Palm Villas provided excellent & compassionate care for may father for nearly 5 years until his passing in late September of 2022. Gary the owner is a kind caring man in addition to Nora who manages the office with utmost professionalism. The food is always fresh and tasty as I tasted it often when I visited my father at lunch or dinner time. Letticia the head chef has been there for years making excellent nutritious meals. The caretakers are all kind and friendly and took care of my dad as if he was their own father. I feel very fortunate to have found Palm Villas Memory Care. After a terrible experience at an upscale Senior Living center located next to Santana Row, resulting in my mom having a stroke, we needed to move her quickly. Mom ultimately spent almost 6 years at Palm Villas. Under the watchful eyes of Med Tech Esmeralda, Garry, Nora and the rest of the staff, I felt confident that my mother was watched over and well cared for. The facility was always clean, and never has that antiseptic smell often found in care facilities. In an industry with a high turnover of staff, many of the original caregivers, maintenance, administration and kitchen staff were still there when mom passed away recently. My favorite things about Palm Villas? The staff are never rushing around like I saw at other facilities I toured. Except during COVID Lockdown, I visited my mom bi-weekly. Staff always took the time to check in with me, provide me any information and help I needed regarding mom's care and medications, and were unfailingly polite. They were respectful of my mom and the other residents, treating them with the dignity they all deserve. It takes a special person to have the patience to deal with a community of people who all have dementia. That is what I found at Palm Villas. read more

Staff were pleasant and friendly and very flexible. The management was really accommodating terms of billing and timing. The rooms are comfortable. The food was good, they try to accommodate my mother's face was not able to eat much anyway. I don't know much about the quality of the programs because my mother was too far gone during the three months she was there. read more

We feel so lucky that a room opened up just in time for us to move her from a hospital stay into the home. The staff is so friendly and competent. The staff truly cares for their residents, and it's so wonderful how they go above and beyond to make sure that people are well cared for. At first glance this place looks like a good option for a loved one. The place is clean, presentable and they seem friendly. But what they are lacking is in Care. They are very understaffed and those working there are over worked. We came across maintenance staff having to move and assist with residents. We had extra care there for our family member and they even had to assist in putting the roommate to bed as the staff was stretched thin dispensing medicine and putting other residents to bed. In asking for help to move our aunt to her wheel chair or get her anything it was always a challenge, never anyone close by. We also found issues with no gloves in the rooms or functioning hand sanitizer in the main hall. In doing some investigating we found out they have many complaints in with ombudsman from patients and former employees. I recommend doing your homework before placing a loved one here. Unfortunately, finding a good place is so difficult! I would recommend looking into the Avant in Palo Alto. Good luck! read more

I am fortunate in so many ways that my beloved husband, David, got to reside at Palm Villas in Redwood City. My family and I approached the facility and met the owners, Garry and Michael Sneper. We had a great tour of the facility and met some of the aides, who were so friendly and happy with their profession. Our questions were answered fully and kindly. The atmosphere was conducive for so many varied activities. We knew Palm Villas was the place for David. Family is invited to visit at any time and have meals with their loved ones. I would highly recommend Palm Villas. The owners and staff are warm and loving and go out of their way to foster an attachment with the residents. This place has figured out a new and disgusting way to MONEY GRAB. This is what my friend experienced: Let's call my friend Cat and husband Bud. Cat brought Bud to Palm Villas for a 7 day stay. Cat is tired, exhausted in fact. She is Bud's primary care giver and Bud can be a handful. Palm Valley is "supposed" to be a memory care facility. They deal with people who are affected by dementia all the time, right? Wrong. There was no bed alarm on Bud's bed. A must for those who might wander. Magically, on the same day that Cat gave a payment for a 7 day stay, Bud was asked to leave. A man by the name of Garry called her at 10pm, said that Bud was being combative, and that he was to be removed immediately, or the police would be called. Cat came and found Bud sleeping peacefully. She asked Bud for a refund for the 3 remaining days... but to no avail. Be ware tired caregivers, this Garry at Palm Villas is waiting for you to fall prey to this SCAM. read more

My family and I were so glad about the care the Palm Villas provided my father at the end of his life. Everyday we visited were all so impressed with how attentive and kind the staff were toward my father and us. There were no other places, that we saw the same level of dedication and devotion. My father expressed to us, that he was very happy in their care. He told me " i didn't know there were places like this". This came from a man who bitterly resisted moving into any kind of care facility. My father has been a resident of Palm Villas Memory care home in Redwood city for almost 4 years. He is 94 years old, suffers from dementia, is wheelchair bound and requires almost round the clock attention. We are delighted with the care that he is getting. They have a fabulous staff of care givers, letitica the cook prepares everything from scratch, lu the social director keeps everyone entertained with his music and vast array of activities that are personalized for each resident. The management is run by 4 very capable and efficient professionals, that are on staff round the clock. The facility itself has been designed and decorated in a modern upbeat theme and the staff works hard on cleaning each room every day. I looked around the peninsula for many months and was lucky to find a facility that was brand new and not depressing.
