She is an expert in what one might need - something that we really appreciated as this was new space we were navigating. Grace has a well trained team who are compassionate, lovely and gracious. She is impeccably organized, creating a month-long calendar and schedules so that your loved one will have as few disruptions as possible - providing a consistency in which only a few caregivers are chosen for your week or month. This was a stressful time with lots of unknowns (including financially) and all we wanted was to ensure the best care for our loved one. Grace will make it as straight forward as possible and provide care givers that you and your loved one will love. We are beyond grateful we found Grace and team and highly recommend to all of our family and friends. You will be thrilled you called her!

Both my parents had the benefit of her team (mom was paralyzed and bedridden, and dad has dementia) and each set of caregivers were experienced for the different levels of care that was needed. Also, I appreciated the open and honest dialogue that I had with Grace (she is very understanding and never defensive). Grace's back office was great as well. Invoices were timely and accurate. Although our family is moving out-of-state, I hope to find another care agency with as wonderful a team as the one here with Advanced In-Home Care.

One star given for cleanliness of areas and room, and some very kind staff. This is surface level, however, as LO did not receive care consistently and staff did not have training to do most of the basics. The staff will be attentive on the surface, on day one, then vanish. Management will be all supportive if you keep your mouth shut and any updates will be sporadic, not truthful, inconsistent and sadly, non supportive. Senior leadership lacks oversight and you will be gas lighted on multiple levels. The price is sky high and you do not get what you pay for. Food is good if you order off menu vs vats of food specials. Sadly, they simply do not care much for residents as evident on multiple visits and their motto of caring for your family member like family is not factual. Avoid this place.

They were not only attentive to her comfort and symptoms, but they also took the time to support our family, answer our questions, and help us understand what to expect. Their presence brought reassurance during moments that were very hard for us. What stood out most was the humanity of the care. My mother was treated as a person, not simply as a patient. The nurses and hospice staff were respectful, responsive, and compassionate, and we always felt that her comfort and dignity were their priority. Hospice care is something no family ever hopes to need, but when the time came, I was very thankful that my mother was surrounded by people who cared for her with such tenderness and professionalism. I will always be grateful to the entire team for the care they provided to my mother and the support they gave our family.

The type of care which was required was 24 hour live-in care. There was a significant amount of questions that I asked Nellie, the owner of Homeplus Caregivers, in regards to the type of individualized care that would be provided for my grandfather. The first part of the process was to call and inquire about home care services offered through their home care service agency. Which is a small business family owned business and has been serving the Peninsula for over 27 years. This brought comfort and piece of mind to me because, I knew the care would be provided had a legitimate reputation. My family and I wanted to make sure the home care service agency, was the right fit for the care of my grandfather. Next, step was that Nellie came over and did a free 2 hour consultation. During this time a full assessment was done by Nellie to see, the type of support my grandpa would require during his individualized home care. Also, looking at the safety within home to prevent falls, showers supported with rails, to help get in and out of shower. It was fundamentally important to my family and I that the Caregiver providing the care would be a match for my grandpa. The caregivers at Homeplus Caregivers took the time to reach out to check-in with updates on care, a binder in which the caregiver wrote down the days events broken down, by providing; the days events, physical activity log, nutrition log, medication reminders, and what exercises were logged that were exercises that had been created by the physical therapist had as weekly exercises. If there were any discrepancies in the care for my grandfather, or other changes to his care was able to connect the owner of the business Nellie, didn't matter what time. Than the changes and needs would be implemented. In regards to the communication with the Caregivers, documented in daily notes, and addressed the rotation in their schedules to provide care 24 hour live in care, for my grandfather. The care provided by Homeplus Caregivers the owner Nellie, and Caregivers provided care which allowed the opportunity for my grandfather to stay at home. They provided the assistance with daily living tasks such as bathing, assistance with the bathroom, self-care support, medication reminders, transportation, social companionship and other home care services that were individualized for his care. With the in- home care services allowed him to spend the remaining of his life within the home my grandma and him owned. My grandpas care was provided by Homeplus Caregivers for 5 years from September 2016 to January 2021. My family and I our grateful that our grandfather had care provided with compassion, heart, and grateful that we had Homeplus Caregivers support from the beginning until the end of the journey. Although, it can be challenging when life has changed the day to day life for our loved ones, grateful I still have HomePlus Caregivers to reach out, and if my family, myself, or close friends Nellie and her caregivers our going to care for loved ones with all the care, dedication, and genuinely our about " Home is where the heart is". These other facilities were newer and fancier (complete with smaller rooms and 10%/yr price increases to keep their publicly traded parent companies happy!), but they didn't come close the warm and welcoming environment we found at the Elms. The staff are wonderful: happy, relaxed, dedicated and you can tell they truly care about the residents. The Elms is a nonprofit and was started by San Carlos; you can see the focus is on the wellness of the residents, respect of the staff, and bringing as much comfort and joy to the community as possible. The residents are lovely and my mother has made very nice friends (they had a little holiday party in one of their rooms this week, and another family brought my mom a small Christmas tree for her room). The downtown San Carlos location allows residents who are able can walk to the wonderful offerings on Laurel Street. We walk to restaurants, the farmers market and seasonal street fairs; it feels like a breath of normalcy amongst all the changes that have been forced on her over the last few years. The Elms has a good variety of programing for the various abilities and interests of their residents. Today my mom and I caught an acoustic guitar holiday music show in the lounge. It was such a gift to enjoy that with her. The holiday parties are quite fun and everyone participates. The administration reaches out at regular intervals to make sure everyone is doing ok. The housekeeping and medical staff have been very responsive and easy to work with. I imagine managing the expectations and needs of this age group is a challenge but I think they do a great job with a tremendous amount of compassion and patience. I believe most of the staff has been with the Elms for some time and everyone seems to know whats going on and has a great deal of competence. Ultimately the biggest winner in the arrangement has been my mom. Her neurologist said her test results have improved over the last year which she attributed to her environment and having socialization, quality food and stimulation (and professional medication management). Moving a loved one out of their home is a very hard choice, but I am grateful for the Elms staff and their sensitivity, kindness and caring they show towards the residents and their families.
