The one lady at the front desk is rude. I asked them for something very simple and being a well educated person I know she was blowing smoke up my behind. I asked for something very simple and she wouldn't do it. I mean I know why they did it because they want me to come in so they can charge my insurance for an eye exam that I don't even need right now because the glasses I have are just fine. They don't want me ordering glasses online because they want to charge me for what I am asking for by making me do am appointment. You know it's no wonder they have so many bad reviews on Yelp. If I can give -5 stars I would. I'm frustrated by the lack of support or customer service. I came in to inquire about an eye exam that I can pay out of pocket for my mom. I was repeatedly told to go back where I got the last exam from and was refused service to get a correct one. I felt annoyed! At this point I asked again to make sure that's what I heard. What company hires ppl to many them loose business? I don't feel it has nothing to do with race. But clear laziness. Btw I wasn't even offered an opportunity to set up an appointment. Have not been to see Dr. Baker since before the Pandemic. I appreciated her professionalism and the staff was always cordial. Well, this is no longer the case! Dr. Baker performed my examination abd felt she needed to increase my distance as welll as my reading prescription. When I received my bifocals there was a problem with my prescription. Long story short, it took almost 2 months to have my prescription corrected and returned to me. The office staff are not the same professional individuals I once encountered. Their position is to contact a patient when their glasses were ready which they failed to do not once but multiple times! Not really sure if Dr. Baker is quite aware of the inconsistency and lack of proficiency her staff is providing her patients! I bring my whole family here with PPO insurance and my appts were canceled a day before due to the dr having an emergency (fine life happens) BUT the reschedule is around their schedule not mine! I was not completely satisfied with my visit due to the fact that I was charged for a retinal exam (should of been covered with insurance) and the doctor didn't even dilate my eyes. My first visit went ok. After getting my eyes checked I received new contacts. Had to order glasses as well and was rushed through the whole process. I picked out frames and had to tell them that I needed transitions. They didn't ask any questions about the glasses I was ordering. 2.5 weeks later and I have not yet received my glasses. She did not want to help me with anything and would not give me a copy of my records or try to help me get more information. EXTREMELY RUDE, and Very Unprofessional. I asked a simple question about how much it would cost to add prescription to a frame and the lady went off on me saying she needs to know the EXACT patient name and prescription needed. I could understand that of course, but she kept raising her voice at me demanding the information "needed" when my question was just asking for an estimated cost. Since Costco does it for $80. I recently had a bad experience with an appointment here, but I must say they have completely changed my mind and I will continue to be a patient. I work far and usually don't get home until there office is closed so Dr vu herself has come in and seen me 2 Saturday's in a row. They have friendly staff and after a misunderstanding with my pre-op appointment they have gone out of there way to give me great customer service and apologized for misunderstanding. read more

I have been there quite a few times for myself, with my son and my mother. Each time the staff were not very helpful and seemed to be overworked and unhappy. You can spend anywhere from an hour to two hours here. Be prepared. My prescription that was given to me by Dr. Vu was wrong according to my primary doctor after he checked my vision during a physical just a couple of days after I saw Dr. Vu. read more

Just to start on a positive note, the front receptionist is the best thing about this place. I don't know her name but she was short, Hispanic, and wore glasses. She was friendly, sympathetic, and overall just really nice. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the rest of the staff. Recently had an appointment with my husband and it went pretty badly. Doctor and nurse were really lacking in the warmth department, gave us bad news and were very cold about it. They also don't know how to listen and kept repeating things we already told them we couldn't afford. We literally had to say "We can't afford it" 6 times in total this visit. Very rude Dr and staff. The Dr did not explain the change in my son's vision and rushed through the exam. The staff was even worse and refused to hand over his Rx until we purchased glasses. They also said they couldn't reuse his frame because my son "can't go without his glasses," even though he has a spare. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. This place has the most lazy and rude staff. They never give you the prescription to take with you, you just don't have the option of going get glasses somewhere else. My daughter was 5 and wasn't able to get other kinds of frames since her face was too small. They had one frame and 2 color choices. They don't even add anti-reflect lenses, you have to pay for that. Other places include it. They said I can pick up my kids glasses before they closed. I showed up 40 mins. Before and the door was locked. We could see the girl in the front desk sitting there, ignoring us knocking. I called. I could see her ignoring the phone. My child needed to her glasses for school. Worst customer service. I would not recommend this place unless you want to deal with their things here and there. read more

I have been to some of the major name optical centers to have my vision tested and get new glasses. It was in and out experience but until I found Palmdale Optometry via relatives and i loved it! All of the staffs were so friendly and amazing. Not only do they know what they are talking about and efficient, the equipment is high quality. I give them a 3 not due to the optometrists I've been Dr. Vu's patient for 9 years she gets a 5 but the front desk they get a 1 ... I used to love it here but they hired new girls and they never answer the phones it always goes to the answering machine. So I had to walk in to make an appointment and told them I called left several messages to return my call because I didn't wanna make an appointment without knowing if it was gonna be covered or not, Nope never got a call back. So the next time I went in to pick up my contacts I called the office while in there to see why they don't answer well sure enough she sat there eating a sandwich at the front desk and ignored the call. Guess that's what she gets paid for. I have gone to Doctor Vu for over 12 years. The ladies that help you are amazing. They will not guide you the wrong way. They know how glasses should fit your face and what is complimentary to you. If something is wrong they will spot it and have it fixed. Although in all the years going there only once did the glasses arrive and the size was wrong. I did not catch it, she did. I had my three youngest children's prescriptions done by Walmart Optometrist, as Palmdale Optometry told me it would take over 3 weeks to be seen for an appointment. I brought my youngest son Andre's rx into them. He is age 6. We had to sit a overcrowded waiting room. There is a toy room with a big caterpillar in it. My kids were sitting on it. The optician came from behind the desk to scream at my children for sitting in it. I think this lady is just very racist as my children weren't hurting anything and they are African American. After 30 minutes another girl calls us to the back and tells me to choose between 2 frames that clearly don't fit a 6 year old. I choose one just to get the heck out of there. They had no plastic frames at all. I was told it would be 1-2 weeks and I'll be getting a call. Please note I am a non practicing licensed Optician of over 18 years. (A.B.O. Certified) (NCLE Certified) and FNAO. I took my others kids RX's to Dr.Isreal in Lancaster. Those came in at 2 weeks time. I called every few days to check on Andre's glasses and was put on hold with the most suicidal music station known to man. After 15 minutes of them forgetting about me, it would put me in someone's voicemail. I've left messages and they ignore you. I called this past Saturday to check on the glasses as its over 4 weeks now. They said there not in. Tried on Monday same thing and also today. I was told this afternoon (again after I called not them calling the patient.) that his glasses were in. I asked when they arrived and why didn't I receive a call. She said they were checked in Friday afternoon. So I was lied to 4 days in a row. I immediately went across the street to pick them up and the girl had me sign in. I did. Then she hands me his case with glasses in them..... What is going on here??? No adjustments, no sitting in an adjustment table or being asked to read any of the reading charts. I told the lady she was absolutely ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. Please note the glasses didn't even have nose pads on them. Who in their right mind passed inspection on this? Do they even care? This could have cut my child's nose if I didn't look myself. Until I personally go back to work, we will be a Dr.Isreal Od office and will NEVER refer anybody to Palmdale Optometry! I pray this Dr Vu. Can revamp her own office and make it a professional practice. read more

The customer service has gone from a 10 to a 1. Dr. Vu is an excellent eye doctor that my family has used for years. As they have grown the service is just horrible. It seems as though they could care less if you set an appointment with them or not. I called in three separate times and was placed on hold for over five minutes and I had to hang up. At this point I'm done and will be taking my business elsewhere. I advise the Palmdale Optometry staff and Dr. Vu to sharpen up their customer service skills. I love this place. The office is very clean and welcoming. The staff is very busy but friendly. I had called in a couple weeks ago for a change in prescription, they seemed to be booked because they didn't have anything available for another week. I booked it because I didn't want to be a new patient elsewhere. I get there on the day of my appointment and it's fairly empty, I sign in and within 15 minutes I'm seeing Dr. Vu who is very friendly and very helpful. I order my new pair of glasses which I'm so happy I found some that fit my weirdly shaped face and big head and they tell me it might take up to three weeks to arrive. I left a little discouraged because I just wanted my glasses but I get a text message less than a week later saying they're ready! I go in a pick them up and they're perfect! How great! I have seen Dr. Vu for close to 10 years now, and have never received anything other than stellar service. My appointments are never far in the future, and because I commute to LA everyday, they are always able to give me an afternoon appointment. I have stepped on and crushed a pair of frames a few years back, and they swapped the lenses into new frames, free of charge, even though I bought the new frames somewhere else. Unless they were to do something drastic, and not correct it, I will be coming here until they move or are out of business. read more

Rude, argumentative, not willing to solve the issue in a calm professional manner. I picked up the prescribed glasses for my daughter. The lenses seemed to be out of the frame and looked very dirty. I told the staff "I don't think they are fit the frame completely. Look like coming off any time soon." She replied "because of your daughter's prescription is high." I went home, gave the glasses to my daughter. She tried them on and put them right away from her face. "I can't see anything. It gives me headache." After that, she never touched them. I went back to the office with the glasses saying "maybe you gave us a wrong prescription. She can't see anything and gives her headache right away." Staff different from the last time pulled out her prescription and said "these lenses are free. YOUR insurance doesn't cover the good ones. She has to wear them and get use to it. Your daughter needs to adjust to the glasses." with such an arrogance. I told her that my daughter couldn't even wear them for a second or she would get headache, and she couldn't see anything, how would she be able to adjust to the lenses?" She said "YOU DON'T GET ME. I'm telling you, this is the only option you have so you have to get used to it." She also mention that if I needed to get a better quality, "YOU HAVE TO PAY" but she doesn't offer anything. Then she put her words in my mouth. "Since YOU DON'T WANNA PAY, this is all you got." I never said I wouldn't want to pay. I always do for mine. But I never will for this optometry. Not with that ugly attitude. I've been going to this one since I moved to Palmdale in 2005. I'm never going back there. That staff member must be so happy losing 4 customers for something that she wouldn't even do that to her own son. (Yes, she had the nerve to tell me she wouldn't force her son to wear the glasses if he could not see anything and would give him a headache.) If she offered the pricing and how to go about it properly and professionally, I would just have replaced the lenses. read more
