I have been traveling the world for the pass two months as a final hoorah before I get a big job to help set me up for my schooling, little did I know that I would be low on money after my long journey around the world. I went up to the register to purchase a shirt, hat, and air freshener. $35 was taken out of my account which was all I had at the moment (which I had no idea). I asked the man helping me if he could cancel my purchase so I could keep my money, he had asked another employee what to do and she said the purchase would have to be finished since the card reader had taken the money and needed the other $13. The man called up staff to the register, and for the few minutes I was waiting, my cousin came up to see what was going on and finished the payment (which I am thankful for). I have worked retail before and I know that the purchase could easily have been cancelled. As happy as I am to have gotten to go to one of these stores, being able to have money in my account would have been a whole lot nicer.

All at a reasonable price. Me and my husband rented a skim board one day, which was $20 for 24hrs and a surf board the next, which was $25 for 24 hours. Inside the store you will find a variety of clothing, shoes, sandals, sunglasses, bags and my favorite....carver decks for all the long boarders out there. Private surf lessons are available, along with paddle board tours and lessons. Overall this a great place to check out whether you are a beginner or expert and looking for a good place to rent while on vacation. The best things for me as the parent were 1) the price and 2) the flexibility. $10/ hr can't be beat. And for novice surfers, the fact that they could try and then come back and switch boards if needed took a lot of stress off of us to pick the perfect size or shape. Very happy we chose Jack's. *note that driving directions took us to a different business parking lot. Jack's is a kiosk in the parking lot in front of the pier.

Next time, I would also supplement with surfboard rental for $10/hour or $30 per day to practice in between lessons. Season ends labor day so if you're interested in lessons after this, would recommend calling. Recommend coming during the week as the beaches are less busy. The surf lesson hut is right at the edge of the beach and the parking lot near the hotel's water park area. Check in and signing waivers are at the surf shack. Open cubbies (not secure) to leave towels, sandals, small ice cooler etc behind the shack. Outdoor open shower for general use to rinse off afterwards located behind the shack on the way to the beach also. Parking: Booking instructions say that there is a white 2-story parking structure across the street (unknown cost) as I did free street parking.

I was so happy to find a surfboard finally in a store! Paid with cash, and went on my merry way. My aunt and parents also looked in this store. Fair warning they do have lots of political stuff in here, so avoid if it's not your cup of tea. it is a big store though with lots of selection of garden stuff, and kites of course.
