My prescription wasn't called in until November 16 ... after I called the office numerous times and spoke to the manager katherine who's always at a meeting and when she calls you back, she's immediately on defense mode ...then They called it into the wrong Pharmacy and left me with no medication for 5 days , manager acted like it was no big. I want to add, I am an active cancer patient, I finally called to refill my prescription and they retracted the prescription ??! the question is why because their office is not fit to service patients in the medical field. I spoke to manager Catherine today she didn't let me speak rather said what she wanted and hung up the phone on me after telling me that I told someone that I was leaving the practice which is a complete lie and she said I should go find another office so now I am a cancer Patient left without my medication... which is illegal, they need to give me 30 days to find another physician.... I should add they want me to leave because I'm not things that are unprofessional and dangerous to any patient in that office.!! when I asked the manager Catherine for who she reports to and I want a phone number to administration. She hangs up on me... This office is a complete joke!!

I am an active cancer patient needing my medication. I was left for five days without it. I spoke to the manager, Catherine who really couldn't give a crap.. then when they finally called it and they called it into the wrong when I called note to them the proper pharmacy to send it promised they would send in the medication as I had no more left and no one called it in so I was left five days without medication Monday morning. I called the office again. I asked to speak to the manager the prescription was filled month later. I am calling the pharmacy for a refill as I had four refills on the medication and the pharmacy tells me that the prescription was retracted. I called the manager at this office again who told me that I called the office to say I was which is a complete false accusation. I didn't call anyone. She told me. I should go to another office and hung up the phone on me when I asked her who she reported to. ... this office is a hazard and it's run like a circus.!!!! I do not recommend

They will state that is not true, but IT HAPPENED. When the PA was asked "So, if I had been vaccinated I could have been seen in the office?" the response was "Yes". Her care for her patients is impeccable and I have followed her wherever she went. I have always recommended her to other friends and coworkers when they are looking for a physician and they have also held her in high regards because of how great of a physician she is. Dr. Deberry is very knowledgeable and is very friendly and patient. When I have needed to be referred out for other medical concerns, she has made great recommendations / referrals. She takes her time with you and does not rush like some physicians may do. She explains things in detail and you leave there with a good understanding of what's going on with your body. I highly recommend her for anyone that's looking for a physician.

I would not recommend going here unless you want to be taken advantage of and pay for things you did not ask for. Dr. Wallace at Roper St. Francis Primary Care took advantage of my college age daughter who simply asked for a well-women appointment that is covered by our insurance. My daughter first had to pay for a "new patient" appointment before she would even schedule a well-woman exam. During that appointment Dr. Wallace requested my daughter get testing for something she was already being treated for by a different professional. My daughter told her she was already paying a lot of money to have this issue resolved by a different professional. She assured my daughter she would label this testing as preventative care so insurance would cover it 100%. Well, she did not label it as preventative, so now we are paying $390 for a test my daughter did not even need in addition to $120 for a new patient apt that was totally unnecessary and my daughter still did not get her well-woman check. So she had to schedule a second apt for that. At her well-woman check, (which only lasted 10 mins because Dr. Wallace was 45 mins late and had one foot out the door before even walking in) Dr. Wallace mentioned my daughter's test results, which were completely normal and we already knew from my chart. However, because Dr. Wallace spent 2 mins talking to my daughter about her "normal" test results, we were charged an additional $113 because it was not part of the well-woman check, so we were charged an additional appointment fee for information my daughter already knew and did not ask for. I talked to our insurance company and the front desk at the doctor's office and they agreed we should not have been charged. However, when talking to manager, she refused to help us out or adjust any payments. So now we are being charged $623 for a well-woman appointment that should not have cost anything at all.

Finally after 3 weeks of waiting I get a phone call asking if I was trying to make an appointment. Which obviously I don't live in that state anymore and told them that the first time I talked to a lady in the front. I would not recommend going to this doctor's office they are too short handed and they don't listen.

That said, I literally haven't seen such horrible parking options for anywhere this far out from the main part of the city. Not only is parking horrible, but many spaces don't accommodate SUVs as in you'll hit other cars opening the door, even when both are parked perfectly in the lines. In other words, be prepared to make a little walk. Next, I'd advise getting there early. I had an appointment at 8:30 and when I was done, exiting the lobby at 9:30, it was packed. As for precheck-in I highly advise filling out everything at home before coming in as it will drastically speed up the process. The lady at the desk was extremely nice but it took 15 minutes past my appointment to be called back and I was 10 minutes early. The nurse was extremely nice and we had a good conversation while she conducted her work; she made me feel "at home." Btw, they need to deep clean the place. Mold is on the ceiling tiles by the ac vents, cracks in the walls and dirty carpets which I've literally never seen at any PCP before and I've lived everywhere. I mention that b/c elderly with colds might be vulnerable to such things. Also, I found giving blood there takes a bit of time. However I'm happy to report I have difficult veins and after feeling around for a while, the tech hit it on her first try. It might be me as I just moved back to SC but things just run slower here. As for my doctor Rochelle Elayda I found her very knowledgeable while being straightforward and receptive to suggestions based on my previous doctors. Moreover, she's quick to respond to questions and concerns via the website. I do appreciate the fact she went through all my history and a previous lab panel in setting a baseline health check with her. She gives the impression she cares and that I was in good hands. This is a difficult review b/c my mother also utilizes this doctor. I asked her about writing this review and she responded "you better not write that" while my thoughts are "I always write in honestly and love which perhaps good things will grow from it." We both profess Dr. Rochell Elayda is a perfectly suitable, capable and gifted physician, there are other aspects of my visit that's beyond her control - ie the office manager, that need a little TLC. It boils down to the doctor which is outstanding so I suggest starting with her when making your decision on if this is the place for you.

Some healthcare facilities here clearly just push patients through and you barely get 5 minutes of the doctor's time. You won't get that at Carnes Crossroads Primary Care, or any MUSC facility for that matter. Dr. Bigelow was highly recommended to us. He has very good bedside manner and I appreciate that he actually takes the time to listen to what is going on. Plus the MUSC MyChart app is very useful for tracking test results and for communicating with your healthcare team. The only problem that I have is that everyone else in the area must be going here too because it's near impossible to get a same day appointment. I was told if you are sick you can almost always get an appointment same or next day, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. For example, my son has a possible infection and called 8am Monday morning to schedule an appointment and the earliest they could see him was Wednesday at 4pm. So it's kind of a catch 22: you'll great health care here but only if they have the time to see you. Even with that, I highly recommend going here.
