    Chicken tenders
    Lindsey D.

The food here the first time we went was not good so this time we only got the chicken tenders. I will say they were much better this time but I hate the fry mix. I would rather just pick my type of fry. We also didn't get any sauces except ranch so we had to ask for more. The upper cabanas are definitely my favorite area because of the nice pool in front. You do have to share with the cabana next to you which I don't love but it's not to bad. The biggest negative for me was the fact that the cabana seats were insanely dirty. There was stuff caked on them and weird stuff stuck to the cushions. It looked like they were never cleaned. The other thing is, there's no curtains or anything on the cabanas. So if you want privacy from the crowds or to hide the sun, you can't. The tv controls also only work about 50% of the time.

    Couch #4

Booked a couch earlier this week for my birthday! It was free for locals with a $50 deposit, which could be applied for food and drinks. I was sad the adult section was closed because the main area was packed with kids. Our couch was away from most of them, which was nice. The checkin process was really easy and the attendant had the best energy. Once we got to our assigned spot, our server took quite some time to get to us. It was hard to flag her down throughout the day, I could tell she needed some backup! The have daily drink specials for their pitchers, beer, etc. Food was fairly priced and we split a chicken nacho easily. Overall, it was a nice hot day but the pool water was so warm there was not much escape from the heat. We would come back to explore cabana options.

Yelp Elite Vibes at One of My Favorite Vegas Pools - Palms! Big shoutout to Kayla and the Yelp team for hosting such an amazing event at the Palms Pool -- hands down, one of my favorite pools in Las Vegas! From start to finish, the experience was everything a summer day should be: relaxing, luxurious, and full of good vibes. The setup was beautiful, the music was just right, and the energy was so chill. The cabanas and poolside service made it easy to unwind, connect with fellow Yelpers, and soak up the sun without a care in the world. The Palms team truly knows how to create an oasis just minutes from the Strip. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this spot deserves a place on your must-chill list. Gorgeous pool & cabana layout Relaxing atmosphere perfect for a weekday escape Impeccable service Great drinks + snacks Elite-level hospitality Thank you again Kayla + Yelp Las Vegas for showing us such a fabulous time! Already counting down the days until the next event. #YelpElite #PalmsPoolVibes #VegasViews #YelpEvent #PoolsidePerfection #SupportLocalVegas

A friend suggested we go to the Palms Pool for our birthday weekend. She reserved a couch o & day bed for $100 deposit. Checking in was very easy, we arrived at 11am. They searched our bags for outside food/water, just a heads up! We enjoyed having great seating and service. The waitress and her helper were both extremely kind and friendly. The gentleman staff member went above and beyond several times by moving our umbrella! We couldn't be more grateful to him. There is a 21+ section to get away from those pesky kids. I really appreciated there being two separate areas! The water was cool and refreshing. Drinks were incredible. 10/10 recommend the watermelon mojito!

Palms Pool at 9am, 4th of July.

Love that we can be at the pool at 9am as soon as they open. Found our usual spot to lay out and enjoy some sun while some of our family members enjoy the pool. Great way to start our 4th of July. One of the things we enjoy about Palms is that they don't get too crowded. Also security at the pool and check in area are always so helpful and courteous. You can also order drinks whether alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks and snacks like chicken tenders and fries from the pool bar. They also have several pools. You can also see the upper balconies are smaller pools.

The pool was busy for 2pm which is about an hour before check in. Not bad waiting 20 minutes for lunch. My friends enjoyed their French fries and sliders cooked medium. The chicken nachos were well seasoned and had plenty of toppings. I wish they came with salsa and guacamole for the price of $19. The servers and coctail waitresses walked around and checked in on us a few times. They always look like they are having a good time dancing or singing along to the music. The music was at a decent volume but when you are in the cabana it muffled the sound which creates a more relaxing atmosphere. It's a nice touch to have a seperate adult only area and as we were leaving we asked if all the cabanas are adult only. The staff member confirmed when you make a reservation request for free cabanas for locals online its for the 21 and over area only.

My girl Cassandra did her best One thank you guys for having us and we appreciate such good hospitality. She was very attentive and knowledgeable. We definitely appreciate coming and will be back again.

Palms used to be the go to spot back in the day but over time it fell off. This was my first time back since the mid 2000s and I was impressed with the makeover. The space is huge with two large pools and cabanas on the second level with private plunge pools. They also have bar/cafe area where you can order food and drinks. It was free for us as locals to visit & towels were also provided. I liked that it wasn't super busy and they had a DJ playing fun music. Overall I had a great time & enjoyed the food too. I'd definitely come back again.

As a fun activity for us and the kids we opted to try one of the free cabanas for locals for when the kids got out for the summer. You can reserve online and they take a $50 deposit which can go towards your food and beverage when you get there. I love the fact they offered this especially for those with kids because things can get super pricey. They have different specials for every week day for alcoholic beverages as well as offer a food menu. We received one of the cabanas on the ground floor with a small pool/jacuzzi right out front as well as by the main pool. It was a fun day out with the kids and service was great. I would love to do another cabana in the near future.

Free entry for everyone 21yrs+! Every day of the week! We went on a Saturday morning/early afternoon and had a great pool day! It's not like the typical Vegas pool party- more calm and relaxing, which we were looking for! Drinks are about $17/$35. We didn't eat while there but the food looked delicious. The music wasn't blaring but just loud enough to enjoy- a variety of music! Great place to go catch a tan and enjoy the sun!

My husband and I decided to take advantage of the locals deal where NV residents get a free cabana Monday - Thursday. You do have to put down a $50 deposit in the event you don't show up; if you do check-in on time then that $50 is a credit toward any food/drink you purchase. I will note that their website is NOT up-to-date. You are not allowed to bring in empty reusable water bottles anymore. The security personnel was quite rude about it and said too many people were sneaking in alcohol. I asked if we opened our bottle so he could see it was empty if that would be acceptable, he said, "No. either throw your bottle away or take it back to your vehicle". Since it was a nice Hydroflask, my husband walked it all the way back to the car. When we checked in for our cabana I wanted to confirm that we were on the 21+ side as I had requested online, we were told that the entire pool area, upstairs cabanas included, is only 21+ Friday - Sunday. Kids are allowed in all areas Monday - Thursday. Again, something that was different from what their site said. Anyway, we were escorted to our private cabana on the 2nd floor. Cabana had a TV, but only 5 channels to choose from, a ceiling fan with 1 speed, a locked safe, and sofas. Only 2 cabanas upstairs had lounge chairs to lay out in the sun, we asked if there was a way we could get some lounge chairs and we were told, "No, sorry. Each cabana has their own unique furnishings and this one does not have lounge chairs. The furniture is moveable though, so you can push any pieces of the sofas out to lounge on". You're not allowed to sit or lay on the edge of the semi-private pool in front of your cabana, so if you want sun you have no choice but to move the heavy furniture outside of the cabana to sunbathe. When we moved pieces of the sofa out into the sun, the empty space under the sofa was disgusting with all sorts of debris, trash, and stains from spilled drinks. Cleanliness was not a top priority, clearly. Cool to have a private cabana, but man what a pain to enjoy if you're looking for some time in the sun. It was nice having a semi-private pool, but obviously you do have to share it with the cabana next to you. We were mostly lucky in that the cabana next to us was another local couple who were fairly nice, but they did kind of commandeer the pool at one point and kind of made it their own for 30ish minutes. I felt bad though for another couple a few cabanas down that had to share their pool with a family which included several children, also the 2 girls in the cabana opposite of us that were clearly uncomfortable sharing a pool with a group of douchey frat boys. Definitely a gamble in how your cabana experience will be, not knowing who you'll have to share your semi-private pool with. Our waitress was really friendly, although when we initially asked for cups of ice water we were told we had to order one of the bottled water options; that just increased our annoyance with their new no reusable water bottle policy, but we digressed and each ordered an $8 bottle of Topo Chico. Like all Vegas pools, drinks are spendy! We each ordered a 12oz cocktail, I got a piña colada and my husband got a pain killer - $17 each. We were then hungry for lunch so ordered chicken nachos which were $18. They were filling, but felt a little overpriced. Once we ordered a few cocktails and food, then all of a sudden our waitress was able to bring us free cups of ice water. Even if you're sober, expect to spend money on some sort of beverage since free water only comes after you spend money on other beverages & food items first. Despite the little annoyances, we mostly enjoyed our time here. It was nice having a cabana to relax in and not having to search for a decent poolside lounger. I may consider taking another day off work to take advantage of this locals deal again before kids are out of school and run rampant. Although, not sure I'd want to spend $50+ again on drinks/food when I can go to The M for $10 and bring in my own Hydroflask for water...

We sat for at least 20 minutes before anyone would help us even though they kept coming to our area. We finally asked Mike, who was working the line, and he said another guy was supposed to help us. That guy was Tanie, who continued to ignore us. Finally Mike just helped us even though he was supposed to be in charge of the line. Now lets talk Tanie, he couldn't function because he was too busy being a complete jerk to everyone, including the employees. He was the least functional bartender, but certainly the loudest. He was constantly screaming at the other bartenders, then he yelled and mocked a customer because they didn't tip, and roped the other bartenders into joining him. It was so uncomfortable. The vibe was so negative. It was very windy that day and at one point, the wind knocked over my husband's drink and spilled it all over the bar and our stuff. The bartenders all made a big deal of scolding him loudly for spilling as if he was a child, and then NONE of them offered napkins or a rag or anything. They just ignored us after yelling at us and left us there in a huge puddle, so we finally just left and went to the bathroom to clean off our items. I have never been so uncomfortable or felt so unwanted or had such blatant and purposeful bad service. Tanie especially was a full on villain, just bullying everyone around him.

Located right next to Cowabunga Bay off of Fort Apache Rd., I arrived right before 6am when the pool opened on a Tuesday morning. There were already about six people there waiting for the doors to open, including my pal. Once inside, all of those people scanned themselves in since they were all in possession of passes (you can purchase a 90-day pass or an annual pass at discounted rates). Since this was my first time, I paid the $3 fee for adults 18-54 years old (it's $2 for 3-17 year-olds, and $1 for those 55 and up). If I had read the rates at the desk, I would have realized that it would have only been $1 for me since I qualify for the senior rate now--ugh! Oh well, next time. There are several lifeguards on duty. I didn't have to share a lane while I was there, probably because it was so early. The water was just the right temp, too; not too cold. The women's locker room has two showers as well as numerous lockers for you to use (bring your own lock). All in all, this is a great facility to get a workout done.

We tried to scout it out at night and we only found it after asking the security guard. They open at 9am and there is a line to get in. I was maybe the 10th one in. I was just checking it out as 9am is way too early for some pool time. At 9 am there was one woman already with her feet in the pool. The pool water is cool to the touch. Other people had claimed their pool chairs and were laying out. Myself and a handful of people were dressed and scouting out the area. They have 3 beautiful pools. All set up with lifeguards. They have a 21+ pool area and they have a staff member sizing you up as you approach. Apparently I look the age so they didn't card me. I'm feeling old now. They have one nautical pool that's a walk in pool. I was told it was perfect for toddlers. Since I'm toddler less I think I'll pass. My guess is there are lots of swim diapers and peek g I. That pool. Hopefully people are t too drunk and peeing in the 21+ pool. We arrived around 11 am for an actual visit to the beach club wearing our suits under our shorts and Tshirts. There were plenty of beach chairs left, but all the ones in the shade were taken. We found some near the middle pool out in the lounge chair corral. So many chairs lined up in the sun. We laid out between plunges for around an hour. I was turning blotchy so it was time to go back inside. If we had some shade we would have stayed longer. They did have padded lunge chairs with umbrellas and cabanas to rent for a hearty fee. We didn't want to spend the extra cash as we still knew it wasn't going to be an all day activity. I did get a virgin strawberry slush out of their slushy machine. It was very refreshing. I highly recommend them. Sadly they didn't offer whipped cream. We loved the pool area and would go back and stay here again for the lovely pool.

Enjoyed a staycation at The Rio this week (5/31 - 6/2) which meant 2 blissful pool days!…read more Ipanema at The Rio has 4 very sizable pools, one of which is 21+ over which is a perfect place for us childfree folks to relax and is where we spent our time. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to see that the free chaise loungers do not have umbrellas. Since my husband is like a vampire and requires shade, I paid the additional $56 for us to have VIP chaise loungers at the 21+ pool which had thick cushions, an umbrella, and side tables. When we checked in we were escorted to the VIP loungers and told we could choose any pair we wanted. They were very comfortable and offered full shade to my husband and I was able to move my chaise out into the sun. The 21+ was really nice with the pool being perfectly cool without freezing, but we were bummed that the waterfalls weren't on. Yelp reviews were absolutely correct as we did see that 90% of the free chaise loungers were in full sun all day with zero relief, so I'm glad we paid extra for guaranteed shade. We made note though of the areas where there was some shade since we'd be taking advantage of the free loungers on day two at the pool. We got there earlier and practically had the entire place to ourselves, so we were easily able to snag some of the few free chaise's that had some shade from the trees. Vampire hubby was happy with his shaded chaise and I was happily sizzling in the sun. Overall, I really liked this pool (we've been to a total of 8 resort pools over the last 18 months); I'd put this in my top 4. I liked the fact they had a 21+ area that wasn't a day club, just a relaxing childfree pool, the overall layout of the entire pool area was spacious and easy to navigate, and that they allow you to bring an empty Hydroflask / reusable water bottle inside to refill at the water station inside Bar Aqua. A few minor complaints is that this pool isn't open to locals unless you are Tier Azul (minimum) for Rio's player's club or you pay for VIP loungers/cabanas. This is also the only Vegas pool we've been to that had no umbrellas at all for the free loungers and very few side tables for them; very strange and kind of harsh for guests considering how brutal our desert sun can be - I personally don't mind since I love to tan, but my husband and friends don't share that same affinity for tanning that I do and require some shade. You'd also think The Rio would want to prevent guests who aren't used to the desert heat from getting sick with heat exhaustion or heat stroke by having umbrellas placed throughout the free lounge areas; thus reducing their liability, but what do I know I guess. Lastly, the cocktail waitresses were just okay. Service was very inconsistent between the two days and our primary waitress on day 1 was extremely pushy, constantly trying to upsell us when we ordered drinks and food which was annoying. Usually pool servers get the hint when you decline an upsell the 1st time... Despite my minor complaints, I did enjoy our time at the Ipanema Pool and I wish I could go more often as a local.
