As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by two gentlemen who were incredibly kind and welcoming. We headed toward the café area and it smelled amazing. I ordered an almond iced coffee, and my friend got a salted coffee (can't remember the exact name), but we drank them down so fast because they were that good. The balance was perfect--you can actually taste the coffee, not just sugar or milk like at other places I've tried. You can tell they really take pride in their shop and their craft. I had a simple custom request and the barista's reaction honestly made me feel uncomfortable for even asking. The facial expressions and attitude felt very dismissive instead of helpful or welcoming. I totally understand not every order is standard, but as a customer you shouldn't feel awkward ordering a drink. What made it stand out even more is that I had gone to Pure Grind Coffee & Juice Bar the day before, and their barista actually asked around and tried to help make my drink the way I wanted it. That kind of effort and kindness goes a long way. I'm big on supporting local businesses, so this review isn't about being dramatic just honest. Good coffee can bring people in once, but good service is what makes people come back. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

The environment is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the food and drinks are always warm, fresh, and delicious. Today there were two younger employees working. The young woman was handling orders, making coffee, and even going into the back to prepare food. She seemed pretty overwhelmed and honestly looked like she was doing the majority of the work on her own. At one point she asked her coworker for help with a customer at the front. He made the drink, but when the customer mentioned it was incorrect, he appeared frustrated. She immediately stepped in, calmly corrected the mistake, apologized to the customer, and made sure the order was done right--all while keeping a smile on her face. She answered questions easily, stayed kind and professional, and even managed to take care of what appeared to be a family member who came in, without letting it affect her work or service. She continued to apologize for the wait and stayed attentive to everyone despite being clearly very busy. Overall, the service was excellent, and her work ethic and attitude really stood out. This place really impresses me, and customer service like what she showed today will be one of the many reasons I will continue to return.

The biscuits were a little dry, but the gravy was super flavorful and it was a large portion for the price. I really want to try the churro waffle and the mini pancakes! My favorite baked good has been the red velvet macaron and the s'mores macaron decorated as adorable animals. Some local touches that makes this place special: a seating and toy area for littles, a build-your-own bouquet bar, and a super cute apparel stand with embroidered hats, sweaters and other accessories. Parking is easy, and there's cute shops in the area too plus the park across the street. We don't have pastry shops here in Modesto that you can enjoy besides Mr. T's donuts, but those are donuts (delicious) but I want croissants of various flavors! The Mexican bread sold here is mid and the village cake shop is not good!
