After that, we got our baked potato with every single topping you can think of, including Wagyu carne asada. This dish is big enough to be a meal for one on its own and aside from a twice baked potato, this is probably the best type of baked potato you can get, considering how all the toppings go together. We also got a corn and pepper dish that tasted pretty good, but the star of the night was the porterhouse. For $99, the 38 or so ounce steak was the highlight of the night. It came with a chimmichuri and a salsa side and tortillas, plus the meat was cooked so perfectly. It had the right amount of fat on it and was just a really well cooked piece of quality meat. That porterhouse really ended the night and made it all worthwhile. The service here is super attentive. The ambiance is nice and seems like a great place to celebrate any type of event. Walking in, it was nice to see the space reconfigured to allow more kitchen and pastry case space. Plus the interior is a lot more warmer with wall color and vibrant art work which is enhanced by the natural light. This makes for a more pleasant dining area. I was kind of overwhelmed with the immense selection and variety in the wrap around pastry case. I'm glad that the counter person was patient with me as I seriously gave consideration since clearly I can't say - one of each please, lol. I ended up exercising restraint and selected two ham and cheese empanadas with chimichurri and two chocolate covered chocolate alfajores with dulce de leche as takeout. The Homie ate one empanada with chimichurri later that day. I ate mine the next day with the remaining chimichurri. We can both attest that the quality has remained despite the near five year hiatus. The alfajores also was delicious, no surprise there. Next visit, I'm going to inquire further about the assortment of pastries in the front pastry case. There was no individual signage displayed during my visit. Again, glad to see another indie business survive post-pandemic and during these challenging economic times.

It was a busy Thanksgiving weekend. They are located across the Farmers Market. Got two each of the beef and chicken empanadas. They are both tasty and delicious with lots of flavors but they are unreasonably priced at $8 a piece which wasn't stated anywhere on their menu board and only got the shock when I paid for them but the beef is made with lean ground organic beef and the chicken with organic shredded chicken breasts. Maybe that's why? I dunno, organic tends to be more expensive. Each beef or chicken empanada was garnished with onions, garlic, olives, pimientos, raisins, eggs, red & green bell peppers, some yummy spices and sauteed in olive oil and butter... that's a lot of stuff crammed in those empanadas. They also have salmon empanadas and ham and cheese empanadas. I'd probably get my empanadas elsewhere but this was the touristy Pike Place after all. Review #3615
