Admittedly, I've been doing my own hands and feet for a year or so, so I'm not sure if manicures and pedicures have changed to where the nail shops no longer clean under finger nails and toenails, but I had to ask for it to be done for my toes, and the tech only cleaned under one hand. Neither the tech that did my nails nor the one that did my feet completely addressed my cuticles, they don't look as clean as they used to when I was still going to nail shops. I asked for "Cat Eye" and showed them exactly what I wanted from a finger nail example that they offered to me. There was understanding at this point. When it came time to do the Cat Eye, the tech did a design that I didn't ask for. I showed her exactly what I wanted. She asked if I wanted something different, [from the previous design she did] I said yes. I was waiting to see what I asked for to appear, it never happened. Again, my nails were still cute, just not what I asked for. As it was my first time getting Cat Eye, I wanted to know where we went wrong. When I was figuring things out aloud, I had to make it clear that I gave them their own example of what I asked for, and the tech did a design that was not requested. No accountability was taken on their side. Another tech interjected to provide clarity, which helped me understand the first tech better, but it didn't uncover a misunderstanding on my part. She even tried to attribute the misunderstanding to my lack of experience with Cat Eye. I've seen the style on numerous hands and I ask each time if that style is Cat Eye, that's all that I'm thinking that I need to request especially when given an example by the nail tech and told her that that's exactly what I wanted. It was very frustrating to have to keep my cool to avoid looking like the bad guy when voicing corrections that should've just been performed for a paying customer.

I went to the appointment on time and she handed me consent forms to sign. On the consent form, there was a note that I couldn't get a lash lift on acne meds. I didn't know that prior because she did not give me the form till I arrived. I informed her that I was taking accutane until last month, and she replied that I needed to wait at least 6 months until I could get a lash lift, which is true! She was very visibly annoyed so I apologized profusely for wasting her time (it was an encounter of less than 15 min) and that was that. Fast forward 6 months. The groupon is expired at this point because they expire after 6 months, but they are still usable unless there are price changes. You'd just have to pay the difference, which I was willing to pay! I made another appointment for today but I suddenly got very sick last night and went to the ER for severe nausea/vomitting. I informed the business owner of this and tried to reschedule my appointment. I was still willing and able to come in but I wanted to let her know in advance and give her the option to cancel because there's a chance I could be contagious. She, rightfully, did not want me to come yet still insisted I pay the cancellation fee, which makes no sense. I'm not trying to infect anyone, which is why I tried to reschedule in the first place. I was not a no contact no show. I did not choose to be sick nor did I need to inform her I was sick. I could have just showed up and gotten the service I technically already paid for through groupon, potentially getting her sick in the process but I didn't do so because that's messed up. The fee is only $20 which is not a big deal, but it's the principle of the matter. It makes no sense to tell the customer not to come and still make them pay for not coming. It's like I'm being punished for honesty. Don't bring your service here, she doesn't care about her clients.
