Unfortunately this experience was not a good one I did…read moreadvise the lady that answered the phone that my was short-but you could mos def braid it. I have very soft curly textured hair. I've had it braided a trillion times (and while it was short) Get there (7:30 -just needed to be there on time & by the scheduled time)and no one is available for my 8:00 am appointment. The lady tells me it's too short and I probably can't get it done-but they have short hair braider. I wait, another lady says nah we can't. Ok so I leave out and the young lady says hey come on back we will do box braids. Get in there and take my seat. Lady still saying hair is too soft & short. Oh boy! She applies some slick grease (or gel) to my hair and the hair slides right out. I've never had this happen before. She started talking with the other lady basically saying she doesn't want to do it- it's too soft & short. I tell her, never mind. I'll skip it. She said come back in two weeks and maybe then. How about come back never! This was so humiliating & I've seen many people braid "shorter" hair. I have about an index & a half length and the back is probably pinky finger length. Literally wasted two hours. Please ask people respectfully of hair length or ask them to send you photos of their current hair state. I had no idea that this would be an issue. Do better please & don't just make it about money per se. I was hurt! No vibe

I just finished getting my hair done at Simone's, she is really amazing!! If anyone asks me for a…read moresalon in Atlanta I will direct them to her. She is very sweet and friendly, and I've been to a lot of Dominican Salons (and salons in general) where that's not the case so it was much appreciated. Beyond the hospitality she was really thorough and knew what she was doing. I got the Brazilian Keratin Treatment; I went in there looking like a Raggedy Ann Doll (long week) and left looking like I had a runway fresh relaxer (and I'm natural). I really appreciated the whole experience. The process took 6 hours :\ but Simone even gave me her fruit she'd brought for a snack since I'd been there so long, really amazing woman and salon!

(I should've known then) Business owners should never arrive after their customers. I get my hair shampoo'd and I got a color rinse. She rolled me and placed me under the dryer ( I thought she forgot about me ) she finally takes me out and styles my hair, now this is the tricky part. My hair was actually wayyyyy longer than it is now and it was beautiful!! I got to give her props for that, however a few days later my hair started shedding like crazy . I cried b/c I could actually run my hand through my hair and chunks of hair were coming out. I haven't been back and don't plan on it.

Today was my first and last visit to KBB Salon. I booked a wash and silk press and, when I arrived,…read moretold the staff I had an appointment with Kelsey. I was told to have a seat, only to later realize Kelsey had been standing there the entire time and never greeted or introduced herself. About 10 minutes later, she came over and said she was running behind and someone else would wash my hair. Another employee did the wash and that part was fine. However, for my 11:45 AM appointment, Kelsey didn't begin working on my hair until around 1:30 PM after finishing the client before me. When she started flat ironing my hair, I asked what type heat protectant had been used. After that, the appointment went downhill. She asked if I had been to the salon before and implied I didn't understand how silk presses work. I clarified that I was simply asking what brand and type of heat protectant it was, but she never answered and continued working while repeatedly sighing. She burned me with the flat iron a few times and didn't respond when I mentioned it which made me really uncomfortable. When it was time for a trim, I looked in the mirror to see where she was cutting. She snapped at me to keep my head facing forward. I explained that I just wanted to see what was being cut since I hadn't had a trim in a while. She then abruptly turned the chair, sighed, and demanded I tell her exactly how much to cut. Since she had never done my hair before, I told her I preferred her professional opinion but still wanted to see what was being cut. She began talking about how damaged my hair was and suggested cutting several inches off. At that point, given her attitude, I no longer felt comfortable letting her cut my hair and asked for the minimum. The long wait alone wouldn't have stopped me from returning, long waits are common at salons in Atlanta. But the poor attitude and lack of customer service were disappointing. Everyone else in the salon was pleasant, but Kelsey's demeanor made the experience uncomfortable. For the amount people pay for hair services, basic consideration and respect should be expected.
