We LOVE Pampered Pooch. We had our first ever boarding experience there and couldn't have been happier with the results. It was clear that our two dogs were well cared for and "pampered" while we were away. PP sent us a midweek report card with updates and photos that helped put us at ease and we were also able to check in on the dogs via their webcams. The true proof came a week later when we returned for daycare. Our two dogs rushed into PP and ran to the staff with wagging tails, ready to give kisses. The fact that they were so excited to return after being boarded there speaks volumes! We can't recommend PP enough. read more

Loved this place until today. Apparently they cant keep my dog from "stealing" the spray bottles they use to discipline the dogs. Not an issue at home so that tells me the trainers make it a game... Have previously offered to replace the bottles for them but now left in the lurch for upcoming vacation. Our pup is sweet, non aggressive but big and active, sorry $35 a day wasn't enough to get your staff to provide basic care.... In fact the go to response from your staff from any difficulty was "have you considered a shock collar?" Anyone that is familiar with the Great Pyrenees breed knows this is the exact OPPOSITE of how these dogs need to be managed... Expressed my displeasure about this situation to staff when picking up my dog from her final stay only to get a call from the owner later accusing me of screaming and swearing at staff which I can assure did NOT happen. Returned the call to discuss this ridiculousness but have not heard back - and at this point continued discourse is pointless. Thanks for giving us a push out of your shitty facility - I'll be sure to let our referrals know how we were treated! read more

Okay, I will begin by saying I am a crazy dog mom. I researched high and low to find the best daycare / boarding facility that I could, as soon as Winston was old enough I signed him up. They require a 2 hour "interview" to make sure he is a good fit and will do okay with the other dogs, at the end of the interview they give him a little report card..talk about the cutest thing ever! Anyway, he has been going for daycare on Tuesdays and Thursdays for about 3 weeks now and it is THE BEST! The staff members are so friendly when I'm dropping him off or picking him up, and I love being able to see him on the webcams. (They also post cute little pictures on their Instagram so you get to see that your little munchkin is having a good day.) They are truly top of the line and I couldn't be happier that I found them. read more

To say my Yorkie loves Pampered Pooch would be an understatement. He gets so excited to go there that he does circles in the parking lot until we get him into play. I love their webcams for checking in, and their friendly, dog loving staff. They have great hours 7am-7pm. I loved this place and had previously brought my own dogs here. Eventually, I applied here for a job. It's not an issue that I didn't get the job, but it was an issue that they couldn't be straightforward with me and tell me I didn't receive the job. I totally understand that a lot of places don't tell you unless you ask yourself. But, I even emailed the manager myself about my application status and in return got no response. I was just ignored. It really sucks seeing a place I love so much be unprofessional and not straight forward. Especially when I went out of my way to ask. It seems pretty easy to understand that the ethical protocol for employers is to notify all applicants of their status. Especially when asked. I do wish this place the very best! Although I hope they will work on following through with people who take the time to fill out and application and come in for an interview. Edit: After reading other reviews I am very surprised by the way this place replies to people. When someone has a bad review or complaint sometimes the responses are so rude. The passive aggressive replies calling people "bitter" and calling people liars. That's very uncalled for. As someone who works in customer service, it is to my understanding that for good customer service the customer is ALWAYS right. I was able to bring in my 3 lb maltese, Gimchi for his first daycare experience today. I called them super late on Memorial day, and Keith returned my phone call in an hour. Impressive! He was very friendly on the phone and made me feel comfortable bringing in my puppy. I was able to send the first time registration form via e-mail, so it only took 5 minutes to enroll him in the morning. When I got to work, I was able to check out the play area through their web cam. It was good to see that Gimchi was running around and having so much fun with the other puppies. The facility is clean. The owners/staff are friendly. The web cam to monitor your baby online is a huge plus. If you ever felt nervous about bringing your dog to a daycare, try them out. Especially while they are running the free evaluation promo. You will be so glad you did as you watch them have so much fun on the cool web cam! :) read more

I am not typically one to write a Yelp review, but I am hoping this will help other crazy dog parents like me! I was so nervous about taking my pup, Penny, to any daycare and I combed through reviews before going with Pampered Pooch - and I am so glad I did! Penny is seriously OBSESSED with PPP - it's ridiculous. As soon as we get near the building, she is crying to get out of the car and when we do she pulls as hard as she can into PPP and toward the door back to the play room. She loves going to daycare and it gives us such great peace of mind knowing she is having a blast and will be a tired puppy that night! We recently boarded her at PPP for the first time (again I was spazzing about leaving her) and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. She had so much fun playing with her friends for four days. When we brought her home, she acted completely normal, not traumatized or mad at us for leaving her. When we brought her back to daycare two days later, I was nervous that she wouldn't want to go back out of fear of us leaving her again, but she seemed even more excited than usual! I ran into a small, insignificant communication problem with booking an appointment and the staff went above and beyond to appease me and my little doggie. The owner, Keith, was so friendly and nice I'd bring my dog back here again and again just for him. I've taken training here, and she's excellent. We've also done daycare. What can I add to all the other great reviews...Keith and Trycia have a business model that was so well planned, even in this economy. They get it that people feel that their pets are family and they keep their clients engaged. Keith is a marketing genius! You never have to wonder what is going on with your pooch, he lets you know via Twitter, FaceBook, Yelp, blogs, etc. He has cameras and an iPhone app that allow you to check and see what your dog is doing and he understands that some of the dogs (parents) are a bit high-maintenance. Our dog starts to get excited the moment we turn the corner, he can't wait to go to PPP. The minute he gets in there he is running for the staff and wants to get back to the play room - there is no looking back. I really don't know what there isn't to love about pampered pooch. After moving to the "Burbs" from downtown, I had heard review after review about pampered pooch. My last experience at an un-named downtown daycare, my dog showed up wet and shivering and dirty, and the employee without a care in the world, I was desperate :) The employees at Pampered Pooch are amazing and so kind. They know the dogs by name, give a report card after the first visit, and the most important, they make me feel so safe sending my puppy here. I leave for work and know that he is not only in great hands but is having a blast and incredibly safe. My dog is about 20-25 pounds, and has a ton of energy. Other places used to put him with the "big dogs" where I think he was a little overwhelmed. Here, I can actually see online that he's with tons of pals in Canine Cove. I truly would recommend Pampered Pooch to anyone in the SW Suburbs area! read more

I've used this place a couple times for doggie daycare for our 40 lb Beagle/Boxer mix, Charlotte. Our dog is very high energy so it is helpful to let her have a day at Pampered Pooch once in a while during the winter months when we can't spend as much time outside. The Location is easy to find and easy to get to. They have an assortment of doggie treats, leashes, and misc in the lobby area. Their staff has been very freindly and helpful. They do a good job at screening incoming dogs to make sure everyone is up to date with vaccinations. The price is typical for the area. I plan on trying out some of their other services in the future! read more

Our high energy Springer Spaniel, Sully, runs to the door the minute he gets out of the car. The owners are friendly and there are trainers onsite. They have cameras too so you can watch him at work if you can get access. There is paperwork and an evaluation visit requried prior to a full visit. This part was annoying and made us feel like he was applying for prep school. However, it was nice to know that they may only take dogs that play well with others. The place does fill up, so make sure to call ahead. This playground helps my guilt of being at work all day, I know Sully is safe and having fun..a tired and well socialized puppy...is a happy puppy. read more

It's hard to find a trustworthy place for boarding and this is our daycare of choice now. After trying several other local dog daycares I can honestly say that PPP is clearly the best. I have been bringing my rescue dog (that was abused and has many trust issues) here since they opened and I couldn't be happier. I really like that my dog has the freedom to play/exercise all day both indoor and outdoor unlike other daycares. Also the fact that I can watch her on the webcam while I'm at work is a huge plus. The one thing that sets PPP apart from other places is that they strive to do everything they can to make the experience fun for both the dogs and the owners. Little things like holiday cookies, birthday celebrations and Halloween costume photos for the dogs, makes their time there special. The owners Keith and Trycia as well as their friendly/attentive staff are absolutely the best when it comes to keeping the daycare clean & tidy and making sure the dogs get enough exercise and plenty of belly rubs. This place is the creme de la creme of dog daycares! I've taken my dog to several places and this one is my favorite for several reasons. 1. You can book online! Their website allows you to see availability, make a reservation request, add services or treats, set up feeding schedules, and more. It's SO convenient. 2. They have cameras so you can check in on your pup. I'm embarrassed to admit how many times I watched my dog the first day she came here. 3. They require a negative fecal exam. I thought it was a pain to get it but am now happy I did because I know my dog and all the other dogs there don't have parasites. 4. They separate the dogs by size and temperament. My dog is 19 pounds and I worry about her playing with a 150 pound dog! 5. They encourage you to text them with questions, etc. which is so much more convenient than phone tag. Each time I've texted, they've responded very quickly. 6. They have an indoor AND outdoor play area and take the dogs outside daily. I love that - not all places take the dogs outside! 7. Their week day hours are super convenient! They open at 6:30a for drop-off and are open until 7p for pickup. Like many other places, they have your dog undergo a 2-hour trial where they make sure your dog will play okay with other dogs. They do charge you for this. At the end of the trial, you get a report card saying how your dog did. For daycare, you are welcome to bring food from home for meals but they do not provide food for dogs. For all these wonderful services and benefits, you do pay the price. A full day of play plus an ice cream treat for my dog was $37.63. A standard full day of play without ice cream is $31 but they have packages you can buy to knock the rate down to as low as $23.50/day if you buy 30 sessions at once. Their prices are competitive with other highly regarded daycares in town and I think it's worth your money! I appreciate that they list prices on their website and allow you to generate an estimate for the reservations you make before you book. My dog loves Pampered Pooch and I love Pampered Pooch. Their A+ service, easy communication, and wonderful staff make this a place I keep binging my dog back to! read more

PPP is truly a five-star business. Why? - Our dog Linny LOVES to go there. She's way more excited to go to PPP than she is to see us, so we'll have to work on that. Plus, she's always exhausted at the end of the day, so she definitely gets her playing in. - Webcams. It's always fun to check in on what she's doing throughout the day and see who she's playing with. - The staff. I haven't met one staff member who doesn't genuinely care about Linny. If there's any issues at all, they've notified me immediately. - The hours. I tend to work early in the mornings, and they've always been super accommodating when it comes to scheduling. PPP is not all it's cracked up to be! Yes, the staff puts on the act but you never see what's happening behind the scenes. The web cams only show certain areas and I have on more than one occasion seen my dog being teamed up on and she's a 70lbs lab. My dog gets along with almost anyone and any dog but she definitely gets nervous when we take her to PPP. So we have stopped! For all of you that are singing their praises...WALK YOUR DOGS!!! No wonder there is never openings at PPP....you all drop your dogs off every day! Get up 20 minutes earlier and walk your dog! It's better for them and they don't end up running on cement floors all day with over aggressive brats. read more

Was such a loyal customer of Pampered Pooch. Until recently, when they showed true colors of absolute laziness with our 10 month old English bulldog. Licking/sniffing/humping got him permanently kicked out of daycare after only being there for two hours at a time for the two days he's been back since a 3-month break for neutering. Licking/sniffing/humping is something that I see happen with other dogs throughout the day on the monitors, so it makes me realize that the attendants are not as trained as they advertise to be. Instead the attendants spend time on their phones and chatting opposed to actually having the patience to deal with these situations when they occur. To receive a text within the first two hours of him being back of a behavior that will get him kicked out and wasn't talked about prior, is quite shocking, esp. to not offer to work with the customer on it. Talked to other dog daycare providers locally, they all had the same response- those behaviors are normal, even with neutered dogs, so it was shocking to hear that he got kicked out on his second visit back to his beloved daycare because of it. Not to mention that after all of our love and support, the attendants didn't even say goodbye to him at the LAST pickup. Definitely take your furbaby elsewhere to folks that know how to handle dog behavior without over reacting. read more

Our dog is new to day care and showed a little anxiety but they went out of their way to make it right, keep her happy, and make it a fun experience. I am also very impressed how they texted me to let me know how my pup was doing throughout the day and if there were any changes which there were... she was having fun playing in the pool, running with others, and that they figured out what was causing the anxiety and fixed it! We took our dog here for an "interview" in an attempt to find a kennel for when we go out of town. The lady said that our dog, who only barked twice, might have to have an electric "bark collar" (aka: collar that shocks our dog if he barks-they also go off if dogs nearby bark) if he stayed there. I tried to be objective but when I walked into the place and saw dried dog poop and hair at the front door and two employees in there working.... with no interest of cleaning it up... I was thrown off. I asked about rates and decided not to bring my baby girl here. Instead I drive all the way out to Maple Grove just to board her at PetHotel because I KNOW she'll be taken care of. Our Yorkie Sophie loves PPP. She is a very energetic puppy who needs to be entertained. Sophie is a regular on Wednesday's which is a nice break in the week. PPP does a fantastic time of wearing her out. The owners and staff are wonderful. I know that she is in good hands when I drop her off for the day. I also like the quick response by email or phone. On a side note: The charity work that PPP is involved with is absolutely wonderful. They are always joining other organizations or charities to make animals lives better. I can't say enough great things about the PPP! I have been taking my beagle there regularly for daycare for over a year and she has also boarded there. She was there for almost two weeks earlier this year and I never had to worry about her. The owners and staff give every dog and owner personalized attention and are very responsive. (They also support local dog rescues and many local small businesses - which is nice!) The play areas are a nice size and they limit the number of dogs so it never gets too crowded. (The downside to this is that they are often full - so its a good idea to call for a reservation). The staff keep everything very clean......I have heard stories of dogs coming home smelly from other daycares or boarding places, but I have never had this happen at PPP. I plan to continue to bring Ellie at least one a week as long as I can fit it into my budget! read more
