I ordered takeout through DoorDash and it was a huge mistake . I ordered a Cuban sandwich , tostones , and a flan . I was notified my order was ready for pickup . I drove to the spot and it was kinda hard to see , it's very small , sort of a hole in the wall kind of diner. I walked inside and I told them I was picking up my order and I gave them my name and they said the order was never placed and that they were also out of the items I had ordered . I was just baffled , however I did get my money back .

The food was good. We tried tostones, empanadas, Jibarito, white rice and beans, baked chicken. The atmosphere needs a more Caribbean vibe like music, tvs, paintings/PR artifacts, etc. The staff was friendly but you need to ring a bell for service.

For me, what stood out the most was how upbeat and friendly the servers are. Living up here, there isn't much variety as far as food goes so when we heard about this place we made it a point to get there! It's a decent sized space and you seat yourself. There are a few other rooms available (I guess they're used for parties?) The menu has a good amount of variety with, of course, the staples. Roasted pork, empanadas, pasteles, rice and beans, mofongo, chicken, etc. We had the empanadas sampler, tostones-and I had the beef with rice and beans with plantains. The food came out hot and fresh and the taste was worth the drive from Canton (about an hour- which is good for north country lol). This is a family run restaurant and they are very friendly and upbeat. The mother (and I guess the one cooking in the back) made sure to come out and speak with us which I thought was a very nice gesture. The prices are fair for the amount of food you get and I love the Goya drinks ( they have Malta and pineapple soda:-))

A Caribbean flavor in NNY AND it tastes pretty good!

Tucked away in a very unassuming parking lot is perhaps one of Evan's Mills best kept secret. I am talking about Pan de Vida (Bread of Life) restaurant right in the middle of town. Food there is very authentic in keeping with Puerto Rican dishes and flavors. Yes, it does lack the ambiance of a Caribbean place on the beach, but this is upstate NY. When you go, I recommend the tostones to start with and follow that up with a cubano sandwich. You won't walk away feeling hungry.

Who knew there was a good PR restaurant in the North Country, I sure do now! It's a small place with upbeat music playing in the background. My husband and I were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and were told we could sit anywhere we would like. Our waitress was absolutely amazing, very on top of everything and if we had any questions she said she would be happy to answer. We both ordered their special that was on their board (2 empanadas and a side) and we also added a small order of green plantains togo. The food came out hot and it was delicious. The prices are good for the amount you get. This is a must try, we can't wait to go back.

My husband tried this place first and he insisted that I give it a try. We finally went for dinner and we both had the Cubano Despeinado sandwich. I was impressed! It doesn't look like much but it's full of flavor! It was super delicious! We will definitely making this a restaurant we visit often.

It's hard to find this type of food here in upstate NY without traveling super far. With that being said, Puerto Rican food is one to be highly criticized do to it's "Home made, like grandma made it" demand. We all know if grandma didn't make it then we can never give it a 5, so that's why it has a 4 from me. I appreciated their homemade touch and tasting their take on food from the island.

Got the tripleta and an empanada. The empanada was pretty good. The tripleta was a little lackluster. It needs some sauce

The food and service are unbelievable. This is definitely a hole in the wall that is worth the stop! The empanadas are out of this world.

Flavor is great. Mofongo was amazing but portion size seems to be much smaller than what I'm used to at Carribean spots.

Such a disappointment following two recent visits to this establishment. As a frequent traveler…read morewith extensive experience dining internationally, I was particularly looking forward to experiencing authentic Jamaican cuisine. The staff was nice, however the food that make the cut My first visit revealed limited menu availability, resulting in my ordering a chicken soup, it had a nice flavor and no meat. But because it was late, I tried this place again the next day. My second visit, undertaken with the hope of a more positive experience, unfortunately proved more disappointing. The lunch special, priced at $15.50, consisted of a single chicken thigh and a meager serving of rice and beans. The accompanying pumpkin chicken soup seemed significantly diluted from my previous visit, lacking meats and no dumplings. The oxtails were old and had a foul smell to them as well as the rice was mushy... maybe two days old... yes old!!! I trash them. The health department really needs to check this out!!! The overall quality of the food fell short of expectations, particularly Jamaican's are known for good food, and considering the price. Its like kids playing in the kitchen! While I understand that this may be the only Jamaican restaurant in town, this does not excuse the provision of subpar food at inflated prices. I believe there is significant potential for improvement in both portion size and food quality to better reflect the pride and culinary excellence typically associated with Jamaican cuisine. I hope that my feedback will be considered constructively to enhance the dining experience for future patrons.

Ordered from here twice. Both times the stewed chicken was good and fresh. The cabbage stands out…read morefor being seasoned as well.
