    Golfeado

This is so far my favorite Venezuelan bakery - but strictly in the bakery sense of the word as you won't be able to find other Venezuelan munchies outside of Venezuelan (and American) baked goods. The golfeados were tasty, ham & cachitos were yummy (and I'm not usually a fan of cachitos), and the bomboloni with pastry cream was good too! I have yet to find something I don't like here. And they even have pan andino for sale here - which they were out of when I came. I have to also mention that they make great coffee as well as a great seasonal pannetone as well (available during the winter holiday season). Service is friendly, helpful, and full of happy people. Ambience is of a small shop with counter seating and one outdoor table for seating. Most people take food to go as there's not many nearby seating even though it's located in historic Old Katy.

    Chocolate croissant and Dubai chocolate

Customer service was great! We ordered some pastries the Dubai Chocolate and the Nutella and they were so good! We also tried two pizzas, the Margherita and the Arugula, and both were amazing. The crust was nice and crispy, the sauce was full of flavor, and everything tasted homemade. Definitely one of my new favorite pizza spots in Katy! The seating is limited, but we were able to grab a table outside and it was perfect. Can't wait to come back!

This wasn't my first time to visit this very interesting little Venezuelan bakery tucked into downtown Katy. I'd been here about a year ago and remembered having some nice pastries, and I might've even taken home some sourdough bread at that time. But recently (2025), a few videos have been cropping up online, and, when I saw that they are making a panettone, I took the opportunity with this trip out to Katy to pop in and sample one. It turns out they have a small portion for $10 and then the large one is $45. It had some nice chocolate flavor bits, but, in my opinion, was not one that I would look forward to having again (dry). I suspect one would want to steam it to reconstitute some moistness. Too much work for me. Especially at a $45 price point for the large one. Since it was lunchtime I decided to also sample one of their pizzas which I had also seen in a video, looking authentically VPN, with a puffy, inflated rim with lots of big air bubbles and gelatinization. Some videos follow, showing the guy shaping and stretching the dough by hand. My concern was, watching him, that the pizza dough was having every bit of air and bubbles beaten out of it by his technique. Additionally, it looked like with all the flour he was putting on it, that it was going to lose a lot of the dough hydration ( good hydration, that can result in a truly spectacular pizza). A much wetter dough is what I hoped for. What I was observing was one similar to the underwhelming ones at Coppa Osteria. I've spent a lot of time in Italy. I've had a lot of pizze. I've even had some good ones here in greater Houston. And I've even had some pinsa here, thanks to a good friend who makes a spectacular Roman style pinsa. So I knew that I had to try the pizza today and evaluate it. There were a few bubbles but, as suspected, they'd beaten all the air out. It was not a great pizza dough. But it did have chew and some flexibility. It wasnt a dry, matzoh cracker crust. The sauce was tasty but pretty salty for my personal tastes. But others might not find it so. You might ask, well, why didn't you talk to them and have them make it right for you? But you see, the thing is I wanted to see how it comes out of the kitchen, what the kitchen staff says "this is perfect and we are satisfied with this product that we're putting out". For me it's more important to know what the kitchen feels is a good product to sell. And then again you get into the question of authenticity versus did I like the taste of it?. Perhaps in Venezuela this is the style of pizza that has evolved. And if this is authentically prepared as it would be in a Venezuelan restaurant in Venezuela, then I cannot criticize it for authenticity, and I can only say that for my personal taste, it was not enjoyable. Authenticity always over rides personal taste.

Located in old Katy. We came on a late Saturday morning and the place was nonstop busy!! Constantly a crowd and a line forming inside. Luckily we were able to grab a pair of stools and sit to eat. Rustic vibes, old town feel. Medals and plaques everywhere from races, marathons and triathlons that the owner clearly raced in. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got the iced lattes -- vanilla and caramel flavors. Small to-go cups with plenty of ice. Good bold flavors. Great coffee. We ordered the cheese roll, ham and cheese cochita, and Dubai croissant. Cheese roll- 3.5/5. Good flavor but felt like it could have been served hotter with more of a melted cheese texture. Ham and cheese cochita- 4.5/5. Reminded me of a ham and cheese kolache at kolache factory. Diced ham and very good bread texture. Dubai croissant- 4.5/5. This would have been a 5/5 but the croissant wasn't flaky like a typical croissant. Idk if that's how Venezuelan pastries are served but I prefer warm flaky pastries. Otherwise pistachio and chocolate flavors were great. Will want to come back and try more of their sweet pastries.

Dubai bomba Venezuelan Roll Salami special

Venezuelan bakery! Like another reviewer I won't lie, Instagram intrigued me to come over here. Dubai bomba - this Dubai chocolate bun was amazing, one of the best things ive had. I know the trend of Dubai chocolate is raving and didn't have high expectations for this pastry but dang, this pastry may have spoiled me honestly Venezuelan Roll- in my humble opinion it is okay if youre looking for a savory option. The dough is fresh The salami special - this crust? Outer layer? Surprised me quite a bit. I enjoyed this pastry the most because of the crispy texture Matcha latte - I personally wouldn't recommend, there was no taste of the matcha. Perhaps spoiled by the matcha scene here in Houston.

I got drawn here through influencers. It was on nothing spectacular for me. I felt as if staff wasn't that friendly? Felt like he was rushing me as I was trying order and seemed annoyed when asking questions. I don't like how there aren't prices on the items so when they ring you up you end up with a pricey bill. The place is small and sometimes the line can be 4-5 people long. Nice decor inside but that's it. I felt like it was hyped by influencers. The taste of the items we got seem like any other bakery food. If anything maybe slightly better?

Quality bakery! Really cute decor and vibes. The selection is great. Lots of variety. They have sweet and savory pastries, bread, pizza, and paninis. We went for lunch. The place is small with only bar seats. Wish it were a bit bigger. Good selection of beverages as well. Services was friendly as well. Items came out fairly quickly. My only complaint is that it is a bit on the expensive side. Four pastries and a beverage was $30. The Dubai croissant was amazing.

Worth a visit (: Friendly and welcoming environment. The food is delicious, as if it was made by a loving grandmother. So many things to choose from; coffee, sweet treats and even meals. A place to keep exploring!

Place is really small, only one table outside to eat. Their menu is on this wooden board thing. It's not a place you can order, sit down and hang out. It's definitely a grab and go spot. The guy who took our order wasn't very friendly, and we felt rushed. He looked annoyed the whole time we were ordering, which put me off. There were lot of croissant options, but we wanted to try something different than your usual bakery croissant. We got the ham and cheese pastry, Venezuelan roll, and cheese roll. They were small, and for the price I wasn't really impressed. There are other Venezuelan bakeries that offer more variety and authenticity. To me this place wasn't worth the social media hype.

Friendly cashier and delicious pastries that taste homemade with care. Good coffee. Con: There are no prices on the menu--expect to pay at least $5 per item

One of my friends recommended this small, charming bakery in Katy's downtown area. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Everything I tried was delicious, from the flaky croissants to the savory ham and cheese roll and the sweet kolache. The friendly staff, with their smiles, made the experience even more pleasant. What I appreciated the most was their attention to detail in warming all my pastries to perfection, even though I did not requested them to be toasty. They went ahead go on the extra miles. This small gesture of care and attention exemplified their excellent customer service. I'll definitely be returning to this bakery as it has become my favorite pastry spot so far!

Today I went in and got the sea salt coffee, figured I'll give their drinks a try and plus they were having a deal. Bad decision. It was probably the blandest coffee I've had to date. I'm not even a huge coffee drinker so I'm not someone that's picky and particular with how their coffee is done. So for someone that doesn't care too much about coffee, dang it was a letdown. It had no salty flavor despite the name. Katy Asian Town is always busy, and it gets even more hectic on the weekends. There was a bunch of staff in the back and restocking all the breads around the store but only one person ringing up at the register. And I'm going to assume that one person was calling for technical support or something because he was on the phone while pressing buttons on the tablet. Or he could he be taking a phone order, who knows. The point is the other workers should have seen that he isn't ringing up anyone and the line is continously growing longer and longer. Management needs to work on having an adequate amount of staff or have rules implemented to help fill in other positions when needed.
