Location is in visitors center in Katy Mills -city hall - nice just to walk around and stop for a good cup of coffee paired with with delicious freshly baked pastries, it's worth my drive. This is so far my favorite Venezuelan bakery - but strictly in the bakery sense of the word as you won't be able to find other Venezuelan munchies outside of Venezuelan (and American) baked goods. The golfeados were tasty, ham & cachitos were yummy (and I'm not usually a fan of cachitos), and the bomboloni with pastry cream was good too! I have yet to find something I don't like here. And they even have pan andino for sale here - which they were out of when I came. I have to also mention that they make great coffee as well as a great seasonal pannetone as well (available during the winter holiday season). Service is friendly, helpful, and full of happy people. Ambience is of a small shop with counter seating and one outdoor table for seating. Customer service was great! We ordered some pastries the Dubai Chocolate and the Nutella and they were so good! We also tried two pizzas, the Margherita and the Arugula, and both were amazing. The crust was nice and crispy, the sauce was full of flavor, and everything tasted homemade. Definitely one of my new favorite pizza spots in Katy! This wasn't my first time to visit this very interesting little Venezuelan bakery tucked into downtown Katy. I'd been here about a year ago and remembered having some nice pastries, and I might've even taken home some sourdough bread at that time. But recently (2025), a few videos have been cropping up online, and, when I saw that they are making a panettone, I took the opportunity with this trip out to Katy to pop in and sample one. It turns out they have a small portion for $10 and then the large one is $45. It had some nice chocolate flavor bits, but, in my opinion, was not one that I would look forward to having again (dry). I suspect one would want to steam it to reconstitute some moistness. Too much work for me. Especially at a $45 price point for the large one. Since it was lunchtime I decided to also sample one of their pizzas which I had also seen in a video, looking authentically VPN, with a puffy, inflated rim with lots of big air bubbles and gelatinization. Some videos follow, showing the guy shaping and stretching the dough by hand. My concern was, watching him, that the pizza dough was having every bit of air and bubbles beaten out of it by his technique. Additionally, it looked like with all the flour he was putting on it, that it was going to lose a lot of the dough hydration ( good hydration, that can result in a truly spectacular pizza). A much wetter dough is what I hoped for. What I was observing was one similar to the underwhelming ones at Coppa Osteria. I've spent a lot of time in Italy. I've had a lot of pizze. I've even had some good ones here in greater Houston. And I've even had some pinsa here, thanks to a good friend who makes a spectacular Roman style pinsa. So I knew that I had to try the pizza today and evaluate it. There were a few bubbles but, as suspected, they'd beaten all the air out. It was not a great pizza dough. But it did have chew and some flexibility. It wasnt a dry, matzoh cracker crust. The sauce was tasty but pretty salty for my personal tastes. But others might not find it so. You might ask, well, why didn't you talk to them and have them make it right for you? But you see, the thing is I wanted to see how it comes out of the kitchen, what the kitchen staff says "this is perfect and we are satisfied with this product that we're putting out". For me it's more important to know what the kitchen feels is a good product to sell. And then again you get into the question of authenticity versus did I like the taste of it?. Perhaps in Venezuela this is the style of pizza that has evolved. And if this is authentically prepared as it would be in a Venezuelan restaurant in Venezuela, then I cannot criticize it for authenticity, and I can only say that for my personal taste, it was not enjoyable. Rustic vibes, old town feel. Medals and plaques everywhere from races, marathons and triathlons that the owner clearly raced in. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got the iced lattes -- vanilla and caramel flavors. Small to-go cups with plenty of ice. Good bold flavors. Great coffee. We ordered the cheese roll, ham and cheese cochita, and Dubai croissant. Cheese roll- 3.5/5. Good flavor but felt like it could have been served hotter with more of a melted cheese texture. Ham and cheese cochita- 4.5/5. Reminded me of a ham and cheese kolache at kolache factory. Diced ham and very good bread texture. Dubai croissant- 4.5/5. This would have been a 5/5 but the croissant wasn't flaky like a typical croissant. Idk if that's how Venezuelan pastries are served but I prefer warm flaky pastries. I know the trend of Dubai chocolate is raving and didn't have high expectations for this pastry but dang, this pastry may have spoiled me honestly Venezuelan Roll- in my humble opinion it is okay if youre looking for a savory option. Felt like he was rushing me as I was trying order and seemed annoyed when asking questions. I don't like how there aren't prices on the items so when they ring you up you end up with a pricey bill. Let's be honest. Instagram did its job and sent me and two coworkers all the way to Old Town Katy for the Dubai chocolate croissant, and whoa, it did not disappoint! I also had a "cheese roll" which was like a small cinnamon roll but with their homemade bread and cheese, just rolled up and heated. But it was the freshest bread. It wasn't doughy or hard, it was like "looks are deceiving" because you would think by looking at the roll, it was going to be super hard when you bit into it. They have an open case with all of their items on display and who knows how long the roll had been there, but I can tell you that it tasted as though it had just come out of the oven. My coworkers bought more because they have family to take it to. One got a guava & cheese roll and said it was divine - the combo of the savory and sweet with the light dough. If you like kolaches, you need to go to this place and try the cachitos, it is a staple of Venezuelan cuisine that resembles a ham and cheese kolache, but Pan pa Venezuela brings an elevated take on it with perfect texture and balanced flavors. Their panettone, an Italian sweet bread that is a holiday tradition in Venezuela is so good that I'll recommend you make sure you are not home alone with that thing, because you'll eat it all. Man, I should have written this review a year ago. Shame on me. I live about forty-five minutes west of Katy so I'm not in town very often, but when I make the trek into Houston I try to hit all the places we don't have in my little town. And, quite often, I'll make an effort to try something new. Last fall, my Mom was visiting and I had three of my kids with me. We were coming through Houston and I think I just noticed Pan Pa' Venezuela on the "maps" app. I figured we'd swing by on our way home and give it a try. The place is pretty little - just some bar seating at the window inside and a few outside tables out front - but so cozy and warm. The bakery case is filled with beautiful pastry accented with pistachio, guava paste, chocolate...yum! and they sell several loaves of bread. My Mom is one of those annoying gluten-free people (sorry, gluten-free people...) but Pan Pa' Venezuela had a loaf of gluten-free bread and I bought it for her. After she left town I ended up finishing the loaf - it was dense, flavorful, and slightly acidic. Not at all your Roman Meal or American Wonder Bread, so if that's what you're used to it might not be for you, but I love a weird loaf of fresh-baked bread. The pastries are delicious, not too too too sweet, and their coffee is legit. Yesterday I tried (read: "ate a whole baguette with my man") and it was easily the best baguette I've had in Texas and I am a total "I used to live in France, harrumph!" bread snob. In fact, while eating it my man said, "Why don't we just buy a half-dozen of these and put them in the freezer?" Not a bad idea. I also brought home a guava roll that ended up eating with Brie cheese and charcuterie. So good. Last, the people who work here are just the nicest, down to earth, sweetest people. I think most of them are either from Venezuela or elsewhere in S. America. Maybe they all lived in Venezuela? I dunno...I've never even been to Venezuela. This is starting to get too long and rambly but the point is this: If you love "real" bread, if you're looking for a special dessert treat, if you want to try something new and give Starbucks a day off, come see these people! It's a location that's easy to get to but not one you're likely to stumble upon, which is why I am writing this review, in the hopes of spreading the good news and helping them share their deliciousness with more of Katy. There is a respectable selection of croissants and next on my list is the chocolate croissant which the owner assured is 100% real chocolate. (For Nutella lovers there is a Nutella option). I couldn't pass up on the baguette available because I had plans to toast it and serve with options of bruschetta, ham and cheese. It's a denser baguette but sliced thin is perfect. Upon arrival you're greeted with a hip modern bakery/cafe atmosphere. The bread and pastries look artisanal and the allure of sandwiches brought me in. It's small, so you're immediately at the counter once you walk in, I felt like I was bothering the cashier by taking A moment to look over the menu and options and questions were greeted very abruptly. I wish I could say that was the worst part but be prepared for the sticker shock when they spin the iPad to give you the total... After I took my coffee, I sat to set up my laptop and work while I waited, like you'd do at a cafe... but spoiler alert, there's no WiFi.
