Thank goodness that we stopped in at 85 degrees bakery - Katy for a quick snack on the last Sunday in December 2025. I ended up saving these delicious treats for dinner on Monday when dinner plans that evening fell thru. We arrived at 85 Degrees Bakery after having lunch at Supreme Dumplings - Katy nearby. My friend decided to pick up something for their family and I was like okay, let me pick up something too. My friend, her husband, and I went to town here and we all picked up something for later. We probably spent about a good 1/2 hour here looking and seeing what we wanted to purchase. In the end, I found 4 items that seemed to be the best items to purchase. Anything chocolate and pastry like was the best choice for me. The prices here were decent and moderately priced at around $3.25 average per item. I also gotten a strawberry banana smoothie to go as well. For the most part though, the experience here at this 85 C Bakery here in Katy is almost the same as in my hometown of Honolulu, where we have 85 C Bakery there too. The bakery itself is rather small but has everything you'd like from an Asian style bakery. Felt pretty good and nice to have the Asian influence in South Texas when you are away from home. I enjoyed my time here at 85 C Bakery and if you're into delicious snacks and pastries, consider coming here. It's a Starbucks alternative for sure and you get a better assortment of options to choose from, as well as delicious smoothies too. As soon as I paid for my purchase, I drank that smoothie like it was my job before we got back into the car. It was quite refreshing and enjoyable. The overall experience here at 85 C Bakery - Katy Texas was very pleasant and refreshing. It was a short stop on the way to Katy Mills Mall on a Sunday December 2025 afternoon. The service here was good and fast while being friendly and professional. The bakery itself was very small, but good to walk around and definitely felt like home. I had to wait about 5 minutes before leaving because they had to make my smoothie and it was not made beforehand. Everything was nice and definitely a place where to go to enjoy the little things in life that you take for granted every day. And so, if you find yourself in the area of Katy, Texas and want to indulge yourself in some awesome pastries, chocolate or other confections, consider coming here to check them out. It's a bakery that is open to anyone and everyone who loves delicious pastries and desserts. The smoothies are pretty good too and refreshing. Definitely recommended if you are in the area I want something other than the usual assortment of burgers, fries, and soft drinks. Not sure if we have free Wi-Fi, but we did not stay long to test out that theory. The place was air-conditioned, but we did not know if it was actually on or not. What I said, 85C bakery is a good place to come to when you need something other and candy or fast food to fill the mid hunger slot in your day. It's physically located at 23330 Grand Circle Boulevard and it's part of the West Side Mall - Katy. It was also pretty close to supreme dumplings, where I had lunch for coming here. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, they have plenty of parking for you to choose from. But best bet is to come here early to secure the best parking spot available. Not sure if there is regional public transportation system here in Katy, but probably best to have your own ride, a rental, or friends who are willing to take you around town. Then there's always Uber or a lift who can take you on command, but it does cost money for you to do so. With that said, 85C bakery here in Katy, Texas, where a lot of happiness is these days, is the place to be where you want to have snacks at your convenience. It's not really in Houston but it's worth a drive if you're headed out that direction. I'm not sure if they have mobile ordering or not but maybe that could be the case if you want that option too. Do yourself a favor and come out here for your next snack attack. If you're in the area and love an alternative to fast food options, definitely come check this face out. I was in the area and decided to stop by to try the delicious pastries. My friends and I each got different things to try. When we walked in, the store was bright, clean, and organized. They do not have much seating inside or outside. We were a bit confused on how to place our order. You grab a tray and gather the pre wrapped pastries that you'd like. Once done you head to the register for checkout. The cashier was nice and helpful. We chose a jalapeño cream cheese pastry, tiramisu, and the mojito cup. Each dessert pictured was very tasty. I enjoyed the jalapeño cream cheese pastry and the tiramisu the best. I wish this restaurant was in The Woodlands, Spring, and Humble area. I'm a 85C bakery fan and usually stop in no matter what city I visit. Got myself a sea salt coffee and a mango brulee cake. Great for a quiet morning to sit and watch the rain. Location is small but clean and they had a good variety of pastries. This includes my most favorite: taro mochi boroh! It's always worth a stop and they have great monthly deals on their app. read more

Good Bakery, different pastry options, smoothies, teas. Service is ok, not outstanding. ambiance is ok. Main issue is that when we choose Iced tea or other Iced drinks, there is too much ice cubes. When asked for NO Ice the employees say that it is NOT possible, and reduced ICE then they serve the drink lowering the level of the drink because it is the Manager's Owners Instructions. We stopped here twice today - first because we wanted a late breakfast and second because we forgot something at kinokunya and decided to get a treat Overall it was a fine experience but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here Parking: The parking lot is deceiving large. We had no problem parking at 10am but when we came back around at 5pm we couldn't find a spot anywhere. Selection: There's a pretty good selection with quite a variety. Some of the more cream based ones were way too sweet for me. Big fan of the match one ! The layout of their shelves makes it a bit hard to take in all the options before the people behind you in line start squeezing your forward. Line: Speaking of the line - it gets super packed ! It does flow pretty quickly but the whole place was full of people both times we came in. Drinks: They have a good selection of coffee, tea, and Boba drinks as well. I had a milk tea Boba which was pretty good Seating: We didn't really have anywhere to go eat our breakfast so we decided to sit there. There were about 6-8 bar seats at the window. I was in Katy Asian Town for snacks and thought to stop by 85°C Bakery Café at Katy Grand for a quick grab before a long drive home. First thing I saw was the Buy 3 Get 1 Free moon cakes with a pretty red box. But there was only one flavor of moon cake. So, I asked an employee about the other flavor. Reply was "sorry we don't have any more red boxes." What? Then, you need to take the sign down or put a note saying no more boxes. I was not very happy at that point. Personally, 85 degrees is just okay to me. I only go if my dad has rewards or when they're having a good promotion. They do have a lot of selection from their bread to cakes to drinks though. My go-to items are the tiramisu cake and sea salt coffee, both of which are not too overwhelmingly sweet and have a nice creamy taste. I don't care too much for their bread oopsssss, but I know some friends who absolutely love them! Parking lot is big, but it can fill to the brim during the busy hours with all the other food spots there. Service is always good!! I enjoyed this bakery very much. The prices are amazing and I wanted to get a ton of treats to take to a friends brunch and these were perfect. I like how light and fluffy a lot of goodies here are and never overly sweet. The cases and displays are clean and the check out process was super fast and easy. The coconut cream roll was an instant favorite. There is plenty of parking. Inside there are counter height tables along the outer edges for seating and some lower set tables toward the side to enjoy your treat in house. I was looking for a mango cake and visited Paris Baguette before stopping by 85°C. There, I noticed an 8" mango crème brûlée cake priced at $39. Curious about the filling, my husband asked a staff member--a young Asian man with glasses--what was inside the cake. Instead of a helpful response, the worker seemed annoyed and replied, "What do you want to know?" We were taken by his attitude. It was a simple question about a cake, and there was no reason for rudeness. Rather than engage further, we decided to leave. With plenty of other bakeries just minutes away, there's no need to tolerate poor customer service. For reference, I previously made a purchase at 85°C's Chinatown location years ago but wasn't particularly impressed with the quality. Unfortunately, this recent experience didn't encourage me to give them another chance in the future. I ended up getting a mango cloud cake $47 at Tous les Jours which was only 2 minutes away inside H mart. read more

Made a pit stop for some pastries. Loved their mochi egg tart...it was the best item I got there. That was 5 stars. I didn't enjoy their German egg custard was ehhh. My mom lovessssss 85 degree bakery. They have many locations in California too. My mom loves the regular coffee here and all the different pastries they offer. I got the mango strawberry smoothie because I was craving something sweet! The smoothie is huge and sweet - not the refreshing vibe I was going for as it was more on the dessert side but it was still yummy. This location has 2 gender neutral bathrooms in the back. Off course with no compromise on taste, everything that I've tried taste delicious. The savory food are delicious too, however often times they are cold and hence, feels like not fresh. Would be good if they could store it warm or warm it up for those who wants to eat there. Have been enjoying their hot and cold drinks too. They have a tight limited seating area. 85C bakery has always been my fave since I was first introduced to it in Cali. Their egg tarts are the closest to the ones I've had at a bakery in Sydney. The cream cheese buns and milk buns are good, too. I tried the garlic cheese bread, which was absolutely delicious. I'd buy more of that! It would pair well with Italian food or by itself. The bread is slightly sweet like a Hawaiian roll. I saw an elote bread and was intrigued but didn't buy. I think I would eat the elote on top first, then the bread. Oh, another go-to is the sea salt or sea salt caramel iced coffee. The lines here weren't long, but the parking lot is busy cause of the other restaurants nearby like hot pot. It takes me about 20 minutes to get back to my house and driving the speed limit, it's still too hot to drink by the time I get home. We've been here twice, and the only reason it hasn't been more times is because I was then away for months, and because since I got back, we've only visited Katy once in a few months or so, whereas we used to go twice a month or more. What to eat: Egg Tarts (hot). Guava Cheese Strudel. Brioche. Fruity drink: Lemon Black Tea w tapioca. King Grapefruit Black Tea if they'll make it (they won't). King Grapefruit Green Tea, not as good as the black. What to milky drink: Sea Salt Iced Coffee. Sea Salt Iced Caramel Coffee. Sea Salt Black Tea. Also great to eat: Choco Bun. Taro Swirl. Coconut Tart. Not as good: Coffee Bread. Regular Milk Tea. Anything with green tea. Marble Taro. Red Bean Bread. Some of the customers here we're not so friendly and some of the service was lacking something. Other aspects of service were pretty good. More detail on drinks: - Lemon Black Tea is heaven. Get it with tapioca. Subtle and not too sweet. Tastes homemade. Perfect. - King Grapefruit is a huge grapefruit in a huge cup with delicious black tea (if they go off menu for you, but they won't), or mediocre green tea, excellent with boba. - Sea Salt drinks are heaven. All these are iced, not hot. The Coffee, Caramel Coffee, and Black Tea are all addictive and divine with Sea Salt and Boba, but the Caramel Coffee is the winner and is the must try drink at 85. We didn't think that the baked goods were as hot or as fresh as the location over in Chinatown. The drinks are pretty good though as always. But the freshness is so exemplary at Chinatown (some of the time, but not all the time), so the colder and less fresh stuff here isn't quite up to scratch. And of course they flatly refused to make us the King Grapefruit with black tea - so does every location in Houston. However a couple of the Dallas locations will do it for us, and we love it. So I can't give it more than a 4, all things considered. Conclusion: Order the Caramel Sea Salt Iced Coffee. If you love lemon or grapefruit, order those with black tea. Now I have to go and visit an 85 location after writing this review, because I have 85 problems and the pastries and drinks here are more than one. read more
