5 stars for the salon, 1 star for Bianca. I went to Panache for an updo in June. When I called to make the appointment I didn't have a preferred stylist and so the receptionist scheduled me with Bianca. I went with a friend and was nervous when we arrived because she realized it was the same stylist she had issues with with an updo earlier in the spring. Moving ahead - I sat down and showed Bianca what I was thinking for the style. Her response was a flat "no". She said I didn't have the necessary length and was unwilling to compromise to still give me the same look and style. Bianca wanted me to give her free reign to do whatever she wanted (curls pinned on top of my head) which I was not comfortable with as I was attending a VERY important event. She then suggested a French twist. I hopped on Pinterest and found a modern take on a French twist and she agreed. Fast forward to my hair downed in hairspray, teased to high heavens and up in a very traditional, 80s pointy cone head French twist. Not at all the style I was going for. I asked her to take it down and pin it all much lower, less pointy. Bianca became very frustrated with me and the situation. She yanked a hair brush through my very teased and tangled hair. After trying to "fix" it other staff members got involved. Amanda came over and made some suggestions on how Bianca could achieve the original style I wanted. Bianca refused and Amanda offered to take over. I was on the verge of tears and googling DIY updos so was VERY thankful when Amanda had room in her schedule for me. Amanda was wonderful!!! Very sweet, friendly and competent. She was able to do the original updo I wanted beautifully. I was so impressed with her work and the staff member who stepped in when things were going south with Bianca. Later on, the owner heard about the incident and called me personally to follow up and apologize. Again I am very impressed with how she handled the situation! The salon itself is lovely. I've already been back for a cut and style with Amanda and it was wonderful. I would advise others to be wary about scheduling an updo with Bianca unless you are able to do a consult beforehand to be sure it is a style she is capable of accomplishing. read more

The skills are there but good communication between client and hairdresser isn't. Hard to reach hairdressers or get through to someone in the shop. Miscommunication or none at all. Feels unprofessional. When a client isn't liked, hairdressers gossip. There's lack of accountability when things don't go well, and refusal to work with clients when something is questioned even politely. Hairdressers drop the ball too easily instead or working with clients to find a solution. Everyone has problems but personal issues seem to be taken out on the clients without really knowing them. The vibe feels tense. As for the clients?... Clients should keep their personal stuff out of the shop too and stay professional. This might help limit some issues but still be aware that if your aren't liked as a person, you'll still get gossiped about, haircuts will be taken out on you and you will get the boot if you try to get it corrected. When a hairdresser doesn't have time to fix it? That's your cue that you aren't welcome there. Bad hair cut more than once? That's a cue too. Time to go to a different shop. Professionalism does not exist any longer and the client is no longer right, even when they are. read more

When I arrived I was greeted warmly by Yazmin, the angel who was to do an amazingly great job cutting and coloring my hair. I didn't have to wait at all and was escorted immediately to Yazmin's station. Yazmin got me water and a magazine, and throughout the appointment we chatted amiably with ease. I can't recommend her highly enough. She even stayed a bit later to recommend some killer products. I have reasonable expectations; but for the last few years, nobody has gotten it quite right. I came prepared with a pic showing what I'd like and included my normal disclaimer about my reasonable expectations, specifically that I didn't actually think I'd leave looking like Ali Larter. She did a great job interpreting my request; I'm thrilled with my hair and have received numerous compliments!! This place is in a great location and has a relaxed atmosphere. They were also courteous enough to call me with an alternate suggestion when they couldn't accommodate my first request for an appointment. It was worth every penny! I'd go back anytime. read more

I have been searching for a stylist for quite some time, I finally found one, her name is Day. I had a bad haircut and color from another salon, the colors in my hair were so bad, my hair was red/Orange and gold/yellow, and I had a dark line around my head from the way they put the foils, I didn't think I was going to be able to do anything with my hair, but Day assured me she could fix it and she did!!! She had to do a color correction and recolor it, I was worried that the bleach would damage my hair, but it turns out my hair is not damaged at all, Day really knows what is best when it comes to color and corrections, I will not trust anyone else with my hair except Day from now on. This is a great salon all the stylists were pleasant, and best of all they don't over charge like most salons do! Give Day a try you will be so glad you did. read more

I have been going to Vanessa since the beginning of her career. Let's just says it's been a few decades. I have followed her to every salon she has been to. I will not see anyone else. She not only does a wonderful job with my hair. She counsels and guides her clients to make sure they are making the right decisions with their hair. If they need special conditioning from to much sun or summer swimming she will talk to them about it. She loves her clients. It goes beyond her clients. She gets to know their families. She cares deeply. She truly wants them to be happy and will make every effort to do so. She greets them every time with a friendly face and smile and says have a great day or evening when they leave. There I was. I was sweating profusely because I knew of the pain I was going to endure. I am a male arriving here to get my eyebrows waxed. I was not prepared. Then, like a shining angel, she sat me down in front of here. Her soft hands barely grazed my skin as she swiftly removed all unnecessary hair that bundled atop my eyes. I could not believe it. I have to say this is one of the best salons I have been to in a long time. Every time I want to change my hair color or get a new cut its always a struggle for me because I am the type of person that visualizes what I want but I can never describe it well. First things first, Day is very professional. She looked at my hair and explained to me every detail of what she was going to do and why she was going to do it that way. Before going to her I had went to someone else and that person ruined it and failed to do what I wanted. There was no blending at all and I hated the line that was left on my hair, there was absolutely no transition. Love this salon!!! Called Panache at the recommendation of a friend. Asked for Amanda and got an appointment for the next day. When I walked in, the ladies greeted me and gave me a tour. It is very clean and decorated tastefully. I had brought my five month old son with me, but it didn't bother anyone! Some of the stylists even played with him while I got my hair cut. Amanda did a great job. She did exactly what I wanted and paid about $30 for the wash, cut and style. She also instructed me on how to achieve the same look at home. I will be going back. read more

I have had Maritsa do my hair for 2 years now and am so pleased. She always makes time to squeeze me in as I am an over the road truck driver and have trouble making my appointments on time. I have shopped around for the best hair stylist to work with my curly, dry hair including a decent amount for pricing, since I have moved to the AV from WA state. It took a while but here it is.
