Fortuna's is a small store, family owned. This review is solely in regard to their food. The birria tacos are chefs kiss! The sopes are also great! They hand make them and you can tell have the authentic Mexican taste! They do have a small staff. All the workers I encountered were super friendly. More importantly, they have a bunch of variety in their small store and it's not crazy overpriced like some other Mexican stores. They do carry items from Mexico and you can also send money to Mexico or other places if needed. I def recommend ordering Mexican food here! It's decently priced and fresh! read more

She only likes the pork I went to the taqueria part and I said I good morning before I could say anything else both the lady n gentleman there told me I had to go to the line where the cokes were and get in line and that there was a sign stating that's where they take orders not there ok I went ordered two tamales paid n waited a couple of minutes my name was called and I was told there was only one that's when I said that's why I wanted to ask before I ordered but you rudely told me to go to the line and made it seem like I couldn't read or was a dumb ass for not following instructions if it wasn't for my mom I would not go back and this isn't the first time shit like this has happened don't get me wrong great food but poor and stupid service staff read more

Don't buy from here! My parents went and got a pound of chicharrones and they were burned. When my dad tried to return or get his money back they denied it. I called them and said they better refund or return the "owners" name is Gabby, she was so rude about the whole situation and kept our money! please stay away! All of my Hispanic coworkers say that this is the best Mexican food in the valley. After trying it for myself, I can confirm the rumors. The storefront is very unsuspecting and can accurately be defined as a hole in the wall type establishment. It is half grocery store half order at the counter food service. It seemed as though most people were coming in for the food. I ordered a carnitas burrito, as I was told their carnitas was amazing. And it was. The meat alone made the burrito really good. I have never had carnitas that was so juicy and also flavorful! And the price can't be beat! I paid $5 for a huge burrito that I was able to get two meals out of. Someone also brought some of their breakfast burritos to work and I devoured it. Maybe I was just really hungry but I think it is more likely that this place truly is something special. I went here with my mom to pick up some Carne Asada tacos for dinner. The place is hidden and a hole in the wall but most restaurants in Livingston are. I had a small issue with the man who assisted us and made our food. He was attentive and kind however the only thing that bothered me was he would pick up the establishments phone to answer orders while making our food....all without washing his hands or using any type of gloves. Great place and a staple of the town. Small hole in the wall but it has been here for years. They also sell medium. or large servings for your parties. Chile Verde, colorado, carnitas, and birria is awesome in taste. They serve these in combos, tacos or in burritos. There are tables to eat but not for alcohol. Place is always busy. Menudo and birria are very good. I wish they served more 'accoutrements' with the menudo. I have to ask for cilantro every time and sometimes I still don't get it. The carnitas are really good. You can get them as a plate, in a burrito, or in nachos. All good choices. I think you get more with the plate and they give you a tortilla so you can make your own burrito, so to speak, and get more carnitas. This is my go to spot in Livingston. it's a mom-and-pop shop, family owned, and delicious. The bakery is always cranking out hot tortillas and sweet pastries. I always appreciate there in Louisiana them to make me a vegetarian burrito complete with rice, beans, a touch of cheese, cilantro, onions, salsa, and avocado. They always make me the most delicious burrito with love and care. I will grab a Mexican soda and I will call it lunch for under five dollars. read more

This place looks like a little whole in the wall, but the food is delicious. Hands down best food in the town of Livingston. They sale tacos, burritos, food plates, carnitas and chicharrones. If you want a large quantity of food for a party you can order from here. They also sale masa for tamales prepared so you don't have to worry about it. Ordered a huarache with steak. So delicious. Their sauce wasn't crazy spicy and hey didn't overload it with beans like other restaurants do. The seating is minimal but it's very clean and just enough so you can eat and run. My family also ordered and they were impressed as well. They had the Chile verde and it was spicy but that's why the "Chile" is in the name. My daughter had a pastor taco. The pastor is a little spicy as well but tender cooked just right. The staff is very friendly. This little restaurant is within their little grocery story and it's so clean and quiet. I'll be back to try more items off of their menu. The prices are decent as well.
