Not a bad place to get more traditional Mexican food. Super simple and basic food lots of bakery items to pick from, I personal can't eat them but my kid likes the "long John" she says its not as sweet as American "donuts" and so she likes theirs better. The Chile is not spicy but flavorful. I really enjoy their queso enchiladas and my kiddo like their Chile cheese fries. I had lunch there today and was very disappointed. I hadn't been there since before Covid when I really enjoyed it. Today I ordered the Chuletas (pork chops) and half the pork was inedible. Full of fat and grizzle. It tasted really good but too much waste. And the price was $14.99-not worth it. Maybe I ordered wrong. Seemed like a lot of people were eating menudo, caldo de res or some other soup. If chuletas are on the menu I usually order them because I really like them. Nice hidden gem! The variety of sweets was good. I would give it a 4 but the sugar donut was a little raw in the middle. To be fair the employee offered to give me another one at no charge which was a nice thing to do (I passed, but appreciate the offer). The conchas were a little dry but the pineapple coconut baked good was yummy! They also sell soups, which seem to be popular, there were people eating there and someone taking soup to go, that would definitely be worth a try! The sweet bread is either hard as a rock or it spoils by the next day. I purchased some bread on a Sunday (yesterday) 5/20 and by this afternoon (Monday 5/21) the bread was growing mold. This panaderia is known for selling old bread. Stay away from this place. Most people don't look on the inside when eating an empanada and I'm sure someone would've bitten into this and not noticed. There are some Mexican immigrants who abuse from new immigrants who come to the US and who are looking for a vernacular flavor, but are forced to pay excessive prices. In this "panadería", bread is extremely expensive, prices are not shown, and the final balance is a "surprise" to the customer. The flavor of the bread actually ranges from mediocre to so-so, and it looks pretty dirty. As a matter of fact, it was the owner who gave me the bread, and "pushed" the bread with his dirty fingers. We used to get these desserts we always called pan de quesos. They used to put tons of cheese stuff in it and it used to be my favorite! They started skimping on the filling but when we recently bought one it did have some visible filling which is awesome because it's delicious! It's basically a Mexican cheese danish. Had a sudden craving for menudo. It is definitely an acquired taste and decent menudo is pretty hard to find, especially mid week. Dropped by Panaderia Rodriguez based on a few reviews that mentioned their menudo. They are a Panaderia and taqueria all rolled into one. Service was very friendly and they filled the menudo craving surprisingly well. Broth was flavorful and not particularly gamy from the tripe. Large portion was a quart for$8.95 and it was full of tripe and not too much hominy. For desert, we had the churro filled with Bavarian cream. Very pleased and will be back. read more

I absolutely love this place! It's very authentic so don't go in there thinking it's the typical "New Mexican-style" of Mexican food that's common in Colorado. This is more from northern Mexico. What a super small, itty-bitty, delightfully filled Mexican bakery! I grew up with these sort of bakeries in my neighborhood, but with over time, I wanted to expand my cravings somewhere along the Lakewood side of Colorado. It's petite and family owned, and they sell all things Pan Dulce, Piedras, etc., but just because they sell pastries, doesn't mean they are lacking of actual food: breakfast burritos, tortas, churros, and horchata!! awww yah. I have been to many Mexican cafes and I thought the others were great. Then I just happened to drive by and see this tiny cafe. I bought pollo quesadilla. Best meal ever. Amazing bakery. A lot to choose from. Churros were perfect. Very friendly staff. Place was small, packed with people. They need more tables. Perhaps small tables outside if allowed. Seating was very limited for being so busy. I can see why they were so busy. Food was great, very hot (temp.). Even the other customers there were friendly and fun. Had a bad day before coming here. If I could give a rating of 0 I would. My family would religiously come here to buy pastries once every two weeks when I was a kid. I was craving a pastry one day now that I am older and so I drove to this very shop; I was only buying a single pastry. A pleasant lady was helping me with my order and the owner overheard that I was only buying a single pastry. The short mexican tempered owner rushed to the counter as if I had committed a crime exclaiming to me, "I don't do business with people that are only buying a single piece". I couldn't help but think, my family and I used to come here every two weeks when I was a kid after having gone to the laundromat. The tamale was very flavorful. But the churros are recommended highly. The seating is limited but we shared a table with the other local patrons. We are excited to return. And we will tell everyone. Absolutely horrible experience. Found a huge piece of hair in one of my tamales after having already eaten three of them and called if I could get a new batch or refund. They said yes over the phone but forgot to mention that I had to bring the tamales back. So I go home and bring them back and they start smirking and talking under their breath as if they're in disbelief that I actually came back. They don't give me a full refund which is fair because 3 were eaten but they tried charging me for the tamale that had a hair in it. The owner of the restaurant and someone who I believe to be his wife comes in and they too give me a hard time saying that the hair was probably part of the husk. I know what a piece of hair looks like. Don't eat here. I'll recommend going to Camargo's if you want good red tamales. This was my first experience at this restaurant and surely to be my last. My family who has given business here for years also plan to stop supporting this restaurant. read more
