I'm surprised that this place has such amazing reviews, even recently. I ordered 2 sets of tacos--Asada 1 plate and then carnitas and al pastor the 2nd plate and my husband and I were not impressed. A bit disappointing considering the recent reviews are amazing. The tacos weren't good nor bad. If I give them a score it would be a score of 5 out of 10. The red salsa was watered down and the green salsa tasted old. The tacos were also cold. I don't think I would be going there again. It's a shame considering Lakewood doesn't have a lot of taco places that are rated good. Nevertheless, the place on the inside looks clean. Lady who rung me up was a bit moody and didn't have a warm aura. Overall, okay tacos but wouldn't go again.

Busy and smells yummy! Can't wait for our food!

The food at Taco Unico is delicious. Very authentic. The barria tacos were amazing. The smothered fries were tasty as well. The giant margs were pricey but yummy.

Loved that we could stop by one of our "go to" Mexican food places near the climbing gym. We were hopefully that there would be enough space / open tables with the limited capacity. Thankfully, we snagged the last table. Yay. Ordered my normal enchilada Verdes. My partner had street tacos. House margaritas, chips and their fabulous green and red salsa made for a perfect meal. This is authentic Mexican food. Staff are always friendly and attentive. The interior decor is very simple and basic, meaning the food is the star here - as it should be. So glad to know they're pivoting amidst the pandemic and doing well. All the basic COVID precautions are in place, so please, stop by for either dine in or take out :)

Food is very tasty and customer services was on point. Love supporting Family ran restaurants

Stopped by this place on a whim and in dire need of a michelada. The food and service were great, but the menu didn't have prices. The total came as a surprise--pretty expensive.

Best Fajitas in Colorado. Great lunch or dinner spot on Sheridan. The 3 things that make these fajitas so wonderful you ask?: -homemade flour tortillas -homemade refried beans -high quality chicken grilled to perfection I've eaten here multiple times and only ever ordered the fajitas. I'm gonna continue to dine here at Taco Unico and try some new dishes soon. Friendly staff, FAST service, and the pricing is unbeatable. I don't know how they create such high quality food and sell it very reasonably. I highly recommend you try Taco Unico. I almost forgot about the salsa! They bring out red and green salsa and they are incredible!!

The birria tacos are a must. So flavorful. Ceviche platter is amazing to share. A little pricey but good food and drink

10/10 service, I love coming here on my days off or even to pick up lunch for work. The service is amazing, staff is friendly & the owners come out to check on the customers when they can. Food is amazing, I've never had an issue with my order. The environment is so welcoming , the staff has always been well behaved even with the not friendliest customers. I definitely recommend coming here for any of your Mexican food needs!

    Birria tacos with consommé

Low key joint on south Sheridan. Probably no more than 15 seats inside, most customers were eating big meals and drinking. Most conversation in Spanish. Stopped for some tacos and a margarita on a hot day. Very friendly service, huge marg, great tacos. The pickled red onions are, as far as I know, not standard to birria tacos and were a nice welcome bit of crunch and acidity. My only *very* slight complaint is that we weren't warned that happy hour started in two minutes so we paid for two margaritas when it would have been 2/1 two minutes later, but that's on me for not noticing (and that's all done on a computer anyways - no one's fault but my own). I give a strong endorsement for this place.

    Best pancakes!!

Very delicious food! We were just trying to find someplace new, and this place did not disappoint! They even made me pancakes after breakfast hours!!

Glad to find this hidden gem in Lakewood! The waitress was super friendly, the food was delicious, and surprisingly affordable! Best Chicharrón burrito I've eaten in Colorado. Can't wait to go back!

I told her I was making sure there was an outlet before I ordered anything and she responds, "there's one over there and over there for paying customers." I just got there. There's no reason for her to assume I intended to just sit there, but even if I was, is the disrespect and hostility warranted? Couldn't tell you how the drinks are because I left. The last thing I need is to be paying too much for a beer while getting hate from someone I did nothing offensive to. Night Owl is great and the blonde bartender there has an incredible memory, very attentive, and has always been welcoming.

And then…read morethere are moments when they are just heavy objects being pulled toward the earth by gravity, wanting nothing more than a chair, a cooked piece of dough, and a cold glass of beer to dull the edges of the evening. The remarkable thing is that the second quest often yields the greater joy. Five of us, all varying degrees of exhausted from a long day of sightseeing, stumbled into Odell Brewing's Sloan's Lake Brewhouse at the corner of 17th and Perry. We were not looking for a miracle. We were looking for a soft place to land. We ordered our dinner, then ventured up to the rooftop patio, which looks out over the lake. I'm told that when the entire surrounding landscape isn't engulfed in flames that you can clearly see the jagged spine of the Rocky Mountains from up there. It is a very fine place to sit while the planet rotates away from the sun. They have a second bar up there that is just as well stocked as the one on the main floor, and the space was filled with the pleasant, low-grade hum of people who were glad to be alive and not currently looking at a screen. The kitchen turns out scratch-made pizzas, so we ordered a Margherita and a Garden Harvest. You must understand something about the five of us: we come from Central and Northern New Jersey. In our part of the world, opinions about pizza are not casual preferences; they are inherited like family heirlooms or chronic joint pain. To say that a group of Jersey natives found these pizzas to be genuinely good is a small miracle of regional diplomacy. They weren't trying to imitate a New York slice. They were just honest, well-baked pies with fresh ingredients, which is an honorable thing for a pizza to be. Then there was the beer. According to their website, this location houses a 10-barrel pilot system where they brew experimental, small-batch R&D beers you can't get anywhere else. I believe them. The fruited sour we sampled was bright and lively, the sort of beer that makes you wonder why so many other breweries get the style completely wrong. The porter was equally memorable, rich, dark, and smooth, with deep roasted notes that made it far too easy to drink. It was a beautiful piece of liquid craftsmanship. The staff was fast and entirely devoid of the plastic, rehearsed cheer you so often find in corporate franchises. They brought things out before we had time to grow cranky, and they seemed genuinely glad we had wandered into their corner of Denver. We had expected a purely transactional exchange of money for calories before going to sleep. Instead, we got a rooftop at dusk, exceptional beer, and the sudden, sweet realization that the day had ended exactly as it should. People are strange, fragile creatures, but occasionally we stumble into the right table at the right time.
