Yum! Can't go wrong here. Rosales is a very well known, and therefore, very well visited bakery in the Highlands. Absolutely worth it! Delicious rolls, conchas, and churros. Everything in the cases, from cakes and cookies, and there were multiple cases, looked delicious. Rosales offers lots of snack and meal options for any of your cooking needs. Prices are reasonable as well. There will be a line when you visit, and that's ok, as the gals working are ready to get you through the line-they work fast. Rosales Mexican Bakery reminded me of the panderias in my hometown in NM. It was fitting that we visited on All Saints Day, one day before Dia De Muertos. The smell of fresh-baked goods that greeted us as we entered the small bakery was a welcoming embrace, flooding me with memories of my loved ones. The prized baked items were behind the cash register--the bolillos (oval Mexican bread with a crispy crust and a soft center) and the pillowy conchas in many flavors (vanilla is my favorite), which often sell out. Churros were also selling quickly at 75 cents each and had to be ordered at the counter. These looked deceptively small, but they were crisp on the outside and thick with a dense, fried dough on the inside, which was very filling. Reasonably priced and delicious. read more

My friend grew up going here often for a sandwich and/or treat, so she brought me here as my final lunch before heading to the airport. I'm sure I'll have to come back and try other pastries, but I ended up grabbing one that seems like it might have strawberry in it? I didn't ask questions so we'll see how that goes lol We also ordered the ham and cheese sandwiches which come with avocado and tomato. Rosales Mexican Bakery on W 32nd Ave in the Highlands neighborhood. It's a small, family-run Mexican bakery and store with some of my favorite essentials when I'm craving something from back home. Their pan dulce is made fresh on-site, plus they offer tortas, tamales, salsas, Mexican candy, and more! I can't wait for winter so I can enjoy conchas on the regular. My Order: Conchas (strawberry, vanilla, chocolate), bolillos, mantecadas, carrot cake, cinnamon roll, sugar donuts, pineapple jam danish, cuernito con queso. Best Bite: Hands down, grab the conchas! They're flaky with a perfect sugar crust and super soft. Pro tip: you have to ask for them because they're kept behind the counter and sell out fast. Came in for some pan de muerto for my co workers and students. I also got some mantecados for myself. The pan de muerto was pretty well received but I think may have been a day old. Overall not bad. The cookies were melt in your mouth buttery. Plus such a cute area. There are tons of pastries that one could gain some serious weight if not careful lol. Plus some other Mexican products to buy. I had a chance to visit this place as we were in the mood for an authentic pan dulce! It was suggested by someone else who I believe found this place through a list so we all visited Rosales for the first time. 05/10/2024 As we went through the bakery, you can smell the fresh baked aromas! We couldn't decide on the conchas, the empanadas, or even their elmo/cookie monster breads LoL We also purchased a budin (i may have misspelled it, but if you know, you know!) which is also known as a Capirotada. It had raisins and coconut! It was delish! I was saddened by the fact that they didn't have the puerquitos / cochinitos but the other bread made up for it. If in the area, I would definitely drive back there again just to be more mindful of the bread choices! The girl at the front counter just stuffed the breads into the bag and I felt sad because the breads kind of broke / fell apart thereafter, especially because the conchas had been kind of thrown in there by her as a second thought! I was in my "shop local" and "shop small" mood today. When this business came up in my "bakery" search I did a while back, for some reason, I didn't go. Whatever the hesitancy I had back then didn't exist in me today any longer so I wasted no time and hopped in my car. This is definitely a so-called Mom-and-Pop establishment. In the neighborhoods of Highland and Sunnyside where gentrification has become the norm these days, I appreciate a business that humbly exists without losing its true colors. Its appearance inside out looks old but they remain in their original state when it all began however many years ago. I like that, and I SUPPORT!! I absolutely had a hard time choosing which ones to get. Displays after displays of sweets tantalized me to the core. I didn't need to know what they were (I couldn't identify many of them anyway!! You can't be afraid to try something new and different, right?) so I placed whatever that caught my attention on the tray with tongs and headed to the register. A young lady greeted me in Spanish saying "buenos dias" which was immediately followed by "good morning " (she realized that I didn't speak Spanish; wish I did though!!) Some chicharrone pieces, one churro, and a square of some sweet pastry only came to $11 with some change. How reasonable! My purchase experience at this small business made me feel like I was in a very authentic store nestled in a town/city in Mexico. Churro was delicious. A bit of crunchiness on the outside but soft on the inside. It didn't disappoint me in any way! Square of pastry was also good! Tastes a bit like cheese cake but better than cheese cake. This is a dense cake but not too decadent with a bit of sweetness. Loved it! Chicharrone meat was good as well. It became a nice accompaniment to the salad I ate later. The bread is good but go elsewhere for bulk orders. I ordered 70 pieces and they put 50 in a flimsy box. They only cross folded the bottom. Sure I could have carried the box better if they had told me. The box opened from the bottom and into the street outside. Lady was accusing me of me of not holding the box correctly but I could have if they told me! She completely blamed me and never once apologized. Terrible service! Tasty local shop with a variety of freshly baked Mexican treats. There are so many good things to choose from- it's hard to decide. That said, I'm not sure you can go wrong. The other nice thing is that everything is pretty reasonably priced. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a stop. There aren't any tables though, so be prepared to take your cookies etc to go! read more

So many options to pick from, even the best tamales I've had since moving from Los Angeles 11 years ago. The prices are very fair, I got 2 large bags of pastries, and only spent $19.00. Awesome selection of baked goods and highly recommend. I'm rating two stars because of my recent experience. I love Tres Lacie cake, which I recently ordered. I was in on Sunday to pre-order for a party. Two were in the refrigerator, but they informed me it would be prepared fresh. However, when I went to pick it up they pulled the same one I saw in the fridge four days prior....and it had three "reserved" sticky notes on it. Was not fresh and was a great disappointment. Our featured sample was the tres leches cake. Made Mexican style, with a yellow sheet cake as the base, the flavor and texture was excellent and fresh strawberries added an excellent touch. Too many choices.... Churros were great! Looks ordinary but the baked goods are far from ordinary.

I was really nervous going for the first time! I have high expectations for my pan. It was a lot smaller than I expected but it felt homie. I didn't think I would be able to find a good panadería near by but the pan here is fresh and yummy! Definitely must try! Entering this place made me feel like a little kid who just entered Willy Wonka chocolate factory. Even though the place looks are extremely humble the choices and the smell of the bakery when you enter makes you emotional happy. We are not very familiar with Mexican bakeries so our choices were mostly based on how the baked good looked. We went with the Chocolot donut and some kind of huge biscuit with chocolate on top. The donut was average and we should have known better in choosing something more unique than a donut from a Mexican bakery. The biscuit was amazing and reminded us of some treats we had neck home in Kuwait. Each piece of baked good we got was 90 cent!!! For the money you get more than what you would expect. This is an authentic Mexican Bakery! If you love Mexican sweet bread, this is where you can find it in Denver. I am particularly a fan of the "conchas," and 9/10 times, they are fresh and delicious. The last time I got these, they were sitting on the cookie sheet / baked trays, in the metal, shelved-stands, behind the sales counter. Don't be intimidated by the iron bars fencing in every visible window on the outside, just pretend you're in the Bronx and come on in. They have shelves of cookies, breads, sweet rolls, cakes.. I mean every Mexican treat you can probably think of, they got it. Freshly baked and made with love right in the back. Grab a tray and some tongs and have at it. I'm not exactly sure what the pricing structure is like here, but the bf and I came in with our raging sweet teeth in tow and grabbed one of each thing that called to us. Any other dessert shop (especially in Denver) and our haul would've been an easy $17. Not here - only $6 and some change. I almost grabbed more. We were there pretty late in the evening (they close late everyday at 10pm) and there were a couple of folks with us picking their fave treats too. I love sweets. I'm picky about what calories are worth it though and tres leches always had a pass. That's what I had. It was delicious! They have a great selection of desserts, prices are decent, and I wish I could have tried more of them. You can definitely tell it's a neighborhood kinda place. The churros looked amazing so I just had to have one so I could review it and AWMAHGAWD!! Yassss hunnyyyyyyyy. I mean, yummy! I was slightly overwhelmed with this Mexican bakery coz there are so many pastries or baked goods to choose, and they are not labeled at all. Hence the "miscommunication" that might took place or since I am unfamiliar with any Mexican pastries or Mexican baked goods to begin with. I dont want to cause any inconveniences to the owner or even the staffs who are in this bakery store coz on the day I was there with N, this bakery seems so busy to the MAX that afternoon, August 12th 2012. Right after we went to Cake, we drove to Rosales Mexcian Bakery. Luckily we managed to find a parking spot near to Rosales Mexican Bakery. The smell of the baked goods and pastries indeed was welcoming to which I so wish I could have a "translator" to which baked goods or pastries to choose that afternoon. From the pictures I took of the pastries, I want to like them all, but perhaps my review might differ coz I want to return to this Mexican bakery perhaps with better knowledge of Mexican baked goods or Mexican pastries in general. They make all of their pastries in house and when I say the churros are to die for oh my gosh I had a caramel field churro so amazing they have a variety of pastries so you can go in and pick and choose what you want they're not really expensive. This was my first time ever going to a Mexican bakery and they did not disappoint they have set the new standard and I love it!! Lol me and my friend went back 2 days in a row. Thankfully Rosales is still here amidst all of the changes this area has seen in the past 20 years! Anything flaky, and covered in sugar is amazing! The small cookies that are 5 for $1.00 are super fresh and yummy! Rosales has the freshest mexican pastries around and they are super friendly. It is hard not to eat everything on your way home! They also take credit cards for purchases over five dollars, which is awesome, as you will find it hard to spend less than that amount with all of the tasty treats they have here. read more

All day, I was dreaming of pan dulce. Sweet, cinnamon and sugar coated bread that had been freshly baked...enter Panadería Rosales. Located on 32nd near North High, I wasn't sure what to expect, but as soon as we parked, I knew we were in for a treat. Literally. The windows are covered in bars (must mean that people want what's inside, eh?) and you can smell the delicious bread baking from the sidewalk. There were many people inside, even around 7:30 on a weeknight, and they stock various Mexican foods as well. We grabbed our tray and loaded up: everything from the polvorones to the conchas to the yoyos to the empanadas and various types of small cookies (they have a huge assortment, and they're five for $1). Hubs even grabbed a jalapeño and cheese bread for breakfast the next day. My favorite was hands down the yoyo. With a sweet cream sandwiches between the two sides, it was full of sweet cinnamon and sugary goodness. And it was nice and soft--not rock hard like it had been sitting out all day. I also liked the piedra (not rock hard like it's namesake suggests) dipped in my coffee the next morning and the empanada de piña. As we checked out, we grabbed a stack of freshly made legitimate tortillas. Giant and delightful--$5 for he bag, but worth it (though that more than doubled our tab). They also had bolillos, like sandwich bread, available for purchase. Bottom line--I'll be back. I'm just trying not to make it too often! read more
