Went for lunch today, prices are high for typical Mexican food. The server was great. I ordered panchitos nachos, hubs ordered fajitas plate. (Beef n chicken) I had full large order of panchitos nachos with chicken. The beans were dry, chicken was dry. The first batch of chips they brought with salsa were stale. The second basket was much better, not great but they had crunch at least.. We ordered queso for the chips. Bland melted cheese made up the queso. Overall not impressed at all. We went to have lunch and the place was pretty quiet. The food on the other hand was amazing. This hole in the wall Mexican restaurant is family owned and run. We ordered the chicken chili rellanos and the shrimp quesadillas. The rellanos were delicious and the shrimp quesadilla was large and tasted great. The hot salsa and regular salsa are fresh made and tasty. The hot is sneaky hot. We recommend this place and will frequently be eating here. Also they offer free margaritas with our meal. read more

Great little hole in the wall Mexican food place. Has a family run atmosphere to it. It's not fancy but the food is good and here's the kicker- they give you free margaritas! Quite possibly the last new, to us, Mexican restaurant to try in Granbury. And what a surprise that we, inadvertently, saved the best for last. Thuy does not normally pick Mexican as a lunch, or dinner, option, but as we heading down Weatherford Hwy (51), and Thuy was hungry... And here we are (were) for lunch. Wow, so glad we did. I had a new item, not even on the menu, a green enchilada. It was served with beans and rice. The green came from tomatillos, so it was a bit sour. It was also super tasty. Thuy had the chile relleno, also with beans and rice. It was battered and deep fried, which is not our fav way for a relleno. We prefer grilled, but that's rare to find. We will ask next time. While Thuy did not eat most of the coating, the relleno was none the less very tasty. Oh, chips and salsa was served. Light and crispy, with a tasty red salsa. It was a bit, for me, on the mild side. I asked if they had something a bit spicier, and they do. This bowl was a warm green salsa that had more kick. Perfect! Before we left I asked about BYOB, and the answer was yes. But also, after 5pm, there are complimentary margaritas. We were too early for this option, but one thing that we are sure, there will be a next time. So Panchito's is cute, and the servers super nice. All of the above combined for a very nice dining experience. Bottom line: Our new favorite place for Mexican, in Granbury! read more

With such good reviews, we had to stop. Chips and hot sauce were good, mild enough that Glenda got to have some. The chicken on Glenda's quesadillas was pretty dry, but the cheese, sour cream, and guacamole made it good enough that she enjoyed them. My beef chili rellano, on the other hand, was great. There was a lot of beef and cheese inside. The ranchera sauce had just the right kick. I don't like mexican rice, but the beans were really good with the chips and hot sauce. Wife had the Country Breakfast Platter and it was FIVE STARS. I had the Sausage Chilaquiles. I give it 1-2 STARS. The warm corn tortillas with butter were a nice surprise. Iced Tea was fresh brewed and excellent as well as the coffee. Service was above FIVE STARS. Restaurant was very clean. The wait staff was very attentive and prompt with refills and responding to requests: Only the Sausage Chilaquiles keeps this review from being 5 Stars. This was the worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. Not Mexican at all. I had enchiladas verdes and they used canned chicken and their salsa verde had no flavor. My husband tried the fajita enchiladas and they put Hormel Chilli as the sauce over the enchiladas and it was so disgusting! Never go here it's the worst! Our enchiladas were barley warm, and you know that's not good for enchiladas. Apparently they have free margaritas after 7pm limit 2. We were not made aware of that or offered to us by the staff (although we saw 2 vaqueros drinking margaritas). read more

We recently moved to Granbury and have been on a quest for best tex-mex. Panchito's was recommended by a local. We have tried it on. Weekday at 4:30 (empty) and on a Friday evening (full house). Both times were really good. We have only tried the enchilada's but they delivered. If you have a massive appetite, you may not be happy. Most Mexican restaurants serve really large portions and I usually wimp out. This place is just right. A few extra touches. Most plates come with a few jalapeños along with fresh lettuce and tomato. AWESOME! Chips and salsa are very average. Oh yeah, one more thing...... Free margaritas. And they are very good and not stingy with them. Our favorite for now!! Came here for lunch on a Sunday with my girlfriend for the first time and we were not impressed. We both know what good TexMex is and we had high hopes. The complimentary chips were stale and the hot sauce was not bad but it was served in little plastic cups that not only did not hold much salsa, but cmon, this place is so cheap that they don't want to spring for bowls? We both had enchiladas with chili sauce. Most places normally serve three enchiladas for the price, 12.50 and the enchiladas were small with little cheese and the beef enchiladas were plain ground beef with llittle to no seasoning. The rice and beans were passable and the service could have been better. I honestly can say that it would have been better and cheaper to buy a frozen food entree. We willl not be back and the search for decent TexMex in the Granbury area continues. Amazing how these restaurants place little emphasis on food quality, price and service and then wonder why they go out of business. Granbury needs a Mettitos or Animias, hell I would prefer a Rosa's over the crap served at most TexMex restaurants in this area. read more

Ordered the kids meal chicken strips and when I asked if it came with gravy, I was told yes. Then was charged $1.50 for her gravy and 1.50 for extra gravy for my chicken. My dinner came with a salad and since they do not have croutons, I asked if I could have a couple crackers to go with my salad. Then was charged .75 for a couple of crackers. (I've never been to a restaurant that charges for a few crackers so I was just suprised). We also asked if we could substitute sliced avocado for guacamole and was told yes. Then when we received the bill we were charged $3.00 for the sliced avocado. I understand if they can not substitute something but they should tell you when you ask instead of saying it's okay, and add extra to your bill for it. Overall the food was okay but definitely not worth coming back for. Fries were burnt, quaso wasn't good, chicken fried chicken was soggy and small, chips were stale and service was lacking. read more

We tried this Mexican diner for the first time last night and it was heavenly, from the freshly made salsa/chips to the heavenly guacamole (really the best I've ever had) to our meals.... truly an Amazing experience! We really liked it! My husband and I had lunch here based on the ratings and enjoyed everything! The waitress was very attentive and sweet. We started off with chips and a cup of queso (standard) with an order of flour tortillas. He ordered the Burrito Platter and said the meat was very tender! He really liked the spice level which made his nose run and hiccup bc he's very sensitive to spice. I ordered the Tamale Platter with a crunchy taco a la carte and enjoyed the tamale sauce that had a little kick to it. We finished with sopapillas which were sooooo delicious, I ordered another one!
