The restaurant looked great, ample room for large and small parties, and nice booth arrangement. We had no reservations, but we were seated immediately. Nice! Ruby seated my husband and took our drink order, she was quite pleasant and professional. Our server, Yera, took our order; she was excellent guiding us through the menu items. I ordered the Queso Birria Tacos and my husband ordered the Gordito Sampler, atlas I have no pictures to share. But, our food was amazing . OMG, my first bite sent me into another dimension! When my mouth exploded with flavor I knew then that I was in for a very enjoyable dining experience. The portions were huge, you won't leave Pancho Willies hungry. To the cook and all kitchen staff that helped, my taste buds are giving each of you a standing ovation. Staff checked on us regularly which was bonus for us. Also, Ruby was truly helpful answering my question about my tacos. I was thankful that she was patient with me. Kudos to the restaurant staff for providing excellent customer service. Again! Unbelievably great food and excellent service!! Julie was our server and she was extremely kind and attentive... and patient. (Admittedly, we took our time - which, IMO, is a good sign of enjoying food you actually like and are not just shoveling in your face.) She also noticed our "couple struggle-bus" moment deciding btw refried or black beans - and totally made us both happy, unasked. (That's a good and smart hooman!) It had been awhile since we enjoyed our favorite Mexican restaurant so had to come! Ordered on the rocks margaritas. Not up to normal standard. A bit on the bland side and weak. We told the waitress but she didn't offer to exchange them so I asked for an additional shot of tequila. She brought two and I hoped she'd adjust the bill but it was not. We did however enjoy our food! The steak on the fajitas was so tender and plentiful with crisp hot vegetables. My pork taco had huge chunks of meat and the enchilada came loaded with cheese and sauce. I opted for double rice and it didn't disappoint. Never can eat it all but great the next day! Another fabulous date night out at this Sparks institution for 40 years. I remember coming here with my Gram after church when I was a kid, and its still just as delish as it was then. That's something that not many restaurants can say! Great margaritas, friendly service & platters the size of hub caps make for memorable meals! I went here this evening with family and Miguel was our server. I asked for a medium steak and it came out a little more pink than I expected. I asked if they could throw it on the grill a little longer and instead Miguel went above and beyond getting us a new steak and it was perfect. Came in on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner for 1. I was seated right away which was nice because sometimes there's a wait. Staff were friendly and extremely attentive and constantly walking around checking on everyone. I ordered the ribeye because I know they have one of if not the best fajitas in the whole city. The ribeye did not disappoint at all. It was cooked perfect, and it was very juicy. It came with a chipotle butter on top that I could've done with out (I like my steak to taste like steak) it wasn't bad, just added a flavor that wasn't needed for a great steak. I chose Spanish rice for my carb and it was good, nothing special. If you know western village you know that majority of their entrees come with seasonal veggies and this time I had squash that was cooked well, not mushy at all. I definitely enjoyed my food. Those of us long-time locals know that sometimes the best restaurants are those hidden in casinos. This restaurant is a staple for Mexican cuisine - and as it currently stands, is one of the best in the area as so many others have gone downhill. We arrived around 5:30 on New Years Day and we were seated at a booth right away with no wait. The restaurant was fairly busy but it is deceiving how large it is inside. The restaurant does not have a smokey smell and is clean. There were Christmas decorations set up and the ambiance was nice. We started off with the chips and salsa with some guacamole as well. Really enjoyed the flavors of both! My husband got the chicken and steak fajitas and I got the combo plate with the chicken enchilada and the pork tamale. The fajitas come out smoking hot and sizzling and my husband couldn't rave enough about them. They come with many sides and the portion really is large enough for two people. I enjoyed my dish as well - the tamale really stood out to me as my favorite. I loved the dough on it - sometimes it's not thick enough when ordered at a restaurant and this was great. We ordered the Sopapillas for dessert and they hit the spot. They are served with a scoop of gelato from the shop next door. It took a while to arrive to our table as compared to how quickly everything else arrived, but it was worth the wait. We enjoyed the experience overall and will be back! read more

Five of us went here for dinner on a Thursday night. The place was packed. However, we were promptly seated, and our server arrived shortly thereafter, and took our drink order. He was really pleasant and very nice. I had the torta sandwich with steak. It was huge and delicious. It also came with a hefty serving of rice and beans. I actually took half of it home for another meal. And the chips and salsa were always promptly refilled. We were celebrating a retirement and the server brought over a complementary piece of cheesecake with a candle. The ambience is really nice for a Mexican restaurant. The wait staff was attentive and caring but not intrusive! Julie was phenomenal! We Started out with warm chips and mild salsa. My entree, pork chili verde was delicious and filling and could only finish half, at best. The Spanish rice and black bean sides were prepared with finesse, way beyond the normal faire. When I moved here in 1991, and this was the place to come. Tonight, the food was terrible. The service was substandard and no one seemed interested in rectifying the issue. Free chips and salsa is always a good start but be careful they are addicting and when your food comes, we always say we shouldn't have eaten so many. The Gordito is my husband's favorite menu item. It comes with 5 different items and rice and beans. Burrito, taco, enchilada, tamale and a Chile Rellano. I really love the steak and shrimp fajitas. Such great portion sizes for the price. The only complaint i had last night was the delay in taking our order. To be fair the server had a lot of tables to attend to but it took almost 20 minutes after we had our drinks for him to come take our order. After that though we had no issues. Drinks were refilled quickly, our food came out in a decent amount of time and the manager comes around and checks on you as well. We went on a Friday night for some dinner here...I read the portions are really big, so hub and I decided to split a three item combo; ground beef taco, chili verdi, and ground beef enchilada. We ordered two cold beers and they brought a huge basket of chips and a big bowl of salsa. Our waiter was wonderful... our food was ok. The enchilada sauce on the enchilada did not work for me...it would have been better dry...the taco was over stuffed with meat, but was also missing something spice wise...the chili Verdi was very good and very spicy...best part of the meal. The inside area is so beautiful...but the food is just not matching...I really hope it gets better in the future, however I am pretty certain I will not return. Located inside Western Village Casino in Sparks, I was told Pancho and Willies was the place for good Mexican. I will say, I was a bit concerned when we got to the casino, the exterior is a bit weathered but once inside the restaurant, that was another story. Pancho and Willie's is easily the nicest Mexican restaurant, in terms of decor and ambiance, in Reno. I don't know when it was renovated but the place felt clean, new and refreshed. Being from Los Angeles, I judge Mexican Restaurants by the quality of the chips and salsa on offer. Unfortunately the chips were of the mass produced variety and not the freshest, although the salsa was another story. Rich with flavor and all sorts of goodies, the salsa was delicious with just the right amount of kick. Our Latina wait staff added a level of authenticity to the experience. Don't worry, they all spoke perfect english ! But a nice touch none the less. My wife and one other split the Beef and Chicken Fajitas. A beautiful presentation, rich with peppers and onions, the plate looked amazing. I tried the steak, absolutely delicious and flavorful. The chicken was a bit on the dry side, perhaps a bit too long under the warming lights. Now I normally don't rave about the side dishes but the black beans were prepared and presented beautifully. An incredible blend of black beans, corn, onions and tomatoes, then topped with Queso Fresca. A chef's kiss. Our friend ordered the Tacos al Pastor. Five street taco sized tacos, filled with tender pork. The meat was tender and flavorful. Also served with rice and beans. Not feeling overly peckish, I ordered a simple plate of Ground Beef Enchiladas (a la carte). It is often said that if you can't do the simple things well you will never do the special things great. This was definitely true for the Enchiladas. The meat was flavored in a way that was just magic. I can't put my finger on it but the taste was amazing. Wrapped with soft corn tortillas then topped with Enchilada Sauce, then finished with melted cheese. Perfection. I would give a ZERO if possible Went there 5/24/26 for my Birthday. Ordered, brought chip n salsa to table, dipped and a HAIR was on my chip. I notified / showed buster, completely disinterested. I told her to cancel our orders, never saw server again. Upon exiting I stopped and informed the hostess who was standing directly to the manager and the response was "ok", not a word from the manager. Customer Service 101, ACKNOWLEDGEMENT goes a long way. Their menu is on iPads, so you have to scroll through to see all the options. We kicked things off with two Panchorita margaritas, which were a solid choice and a great way to start the meal. For dinner, I ordered the Chicken Nogales Enchiladas, which sounded promising with chicken breast, mushrooms, roasted garlic cream sauce, and cilantro. My husband went for the pork carnitas, ordering them crispy, thinking they'd be crisped on a flat-top--but instead, they were deep-fried. Thankfully, he still enjoyed them, saying they were light and tasty with all the usual toppings. Unfortunately, my enchiladas were a letdown. We have come to Pancho & Willie's for years. It has been, what we consider, upscale Mexican food. This particular visit, it fell short. Maybe it is because of the Holiday season, I am not sure. My wife ordered the combination plate with tamales and Carnitas with Colorado Suace. But the pork was very "Gristley". I ordered the Baja Fish and Chips, a little greasy for my liking. We ordered additional Salsa for the chips, but it never came. We always liked the ambiance and are locals, so I am sure we will come back this summer. read more

It is located inside Western Village Casino. Western Village was built in 1983 with three restaurants. It's been years since my husband and I have been here. The last time we were there it was just so-so. The food this time was beyond scrumptious and flavorful. I got the Flat Iron Steak. Our waitress said that it was her favorite item on the menu. It came with a Southwest Loaded Baked Potato, with flavorful taco meat, cheese, green onions, bacon, and guacamole crema. It was so yummy. The flat iron steak was cooked to perfection to my liking medium rare. The side dish of vegetables was also good and paired well with the steak and potato. My husband got the enchiladas with beans and rice. He enjoyed the whole meal. We can't wait to go back. We also got their delectable guacamole that went well with the free chips and salsa. The chips arrived warm. It is always a treat when tortilla chips arrive warm. There is something so comforting about this. The one improvement that could be made is the salsa. It was not as tasty or flavorful as the salsa you used to get here. Everyone from the hostess, waitstaff, and cashier were kind and helpful. The restaurant was busy. But, everyone still made a point to make you feel welcomed and appreciated. Great customer service. The ambiance is inviting and friendly. I love that there are little pockets of tables that are out of the way making it feel romantic. As well as, tables for families with kids. Both booths and tables are offered here. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from a Mexican restaurant inside a casino. But lemme tell ya, this place was rocking. If you're looking for delicious food and perfectly tasting margaritas priced to your liking, this is your place. A good Mexican restaurant meal starts with some good chips and salsa, Pancho & Willie's Cantina has a med heat hearty red salsa not the typical watery salsa you find in most Mexican restaurants. I like my salsa hot so I asked my waiter if they had anything hotter and he came through with a hotter green salsa that was pretty tasty. Chips are nice and crisp and not greasy. I could of been done here but I had thoughts of that gooey queso fundido running in my mind; I had to have it! Again, not greasy as I was expecting with queso and chorizo. I ordered 2 Machete sized margaritas, a guava and a mango, each were 7 bucks! These things are huge! I almost never order house margaritas at Mexican restaurants because to be honest, they are not very flavorful. These margaritas were done right! They do not come salt rimmed so if you like them salty, make sure you tell them when you order. Another thing I shy away from in Mexican restaurants is the fajitas, in this area they heavily marinate and season the meats and I can't even taste the real meat anymore. I am glad I went for it here. I got a huge pile of perfectly rare beef skirt steak over a sizzling cast iron plate full of onions and green and red peppers. Even though the meat is pre seasoned, it isn't overwhelming, the meat is still tasty. Overall, I was very happy. Black beans were yummy and rice was decent. Customer service is top notch here. Took the family there to celebrate our daughter's birthday with our two grandsons. The food was amazing. Probably the best nachos I've had in 40 years.
