I recently found out a Ponchos was still open in Houston area and I had to go for nostalgic reasons. After 30 years from the last time I had it, it hasn't changed a bit. I had the regular stuff 1 of each. But the real reason was for the sopapillias and to raise the flag 1 more time. If your from Houston you may remember this restaurant one was on 45 north at Tidwell plaza, the other near Almeda mall.

Classic that needs an extra TLC. Service and atmosphere: Outstanding service. Very friendly and helpful staff - five stars. The restaurant still has its charm but may need a bit of refresh in my opinion. This buffet was famous for raising a flag at the table to have service members to get you more food from the buffet area. Food: The food was okay. The buffet offers typical Mexican food options. A bit more variety would be a bonus. Pricing: $

I was on the north side of town and decided to stop at Pancho's because of nostalgia. The picadillo, chile soup and crunchy tacos were my favs. Everything else tasted the same. They also bought out our sopapillas 5 minutes after we sat down so they weren't warm when we were ready to dig in. Overall I'm happy I tried it again 30 years later but I'll probably never return.

First Pancho's I've seen since the 80s. Very exciting!!!

I love Pancho's. I haven't been to one since I was a kid in the 80s. I found this one outside of Houston on my way to visit my kids and it is great! Food was hot & delicious. Service was good.

My husband grew up on Panchos and really missed it so while traveling to Galveston we had to stop in for lunch . He said it was just as he remembered.

I used to go to Panchos as a kid, and unfortunately it's lost all authenticity. The service was about the only good thing about this restaurant. The ambiance of the restaurant was bland and boring. I expected more be so close to the holiday of Día de los muertos. The food itself was bland and very Americanized and lacks all flavor.

Wow. Food was good! All you can eat. Tamales, enchiladas, tacos and so much more. Soups and nachos, and chips and salsa. Go, go, go. And the dessert bar and sopapillas. Yes please. Raise the flag and the service is there instantly! Can't wait to go back!

I'm impressed!!! We've been to several Pancho's that have been shut down and all seemed very ran down. This location is clean, food was good and staff is very friendly and attentive. Plenty of seating too and the decor is very colorful and upbeat. As items ran out the staff was very quick to fill it.

It's really kind of sad because I remember poncho's Mexican buffet being very common in the greater Houston area in the 80s and 90s. The service was excellent. Everybody that we came across was very welcoming and accommodating. There were quite a few people there and it seems like a place that you would go to if you want to feed a bunch of little ones or you have more than two or three in your party. Unfortunately, I didn't really think the food was that great. The only thing that I found halfway decent was the tamales in terms of flavor. Well, the Mexican rice was good, but it's extremely dry. The sopaipillas seemed like they were made from tortillas. We went for a drive here since this location is all the way in Humble. It's okay.

In many ways, Panchos Mexican buffet is like your typical Tex-Mex restaurant. It has an assortment of enchiladas, tamales, beans, rice, soups, and stews. What sets Panchos apart from other Tex-Mex restaurants is the fact that is a buffet with service meaning if you decide you didn't get enough of a food item, just raised the flag on the table. Someone on the wait staff will refill that item. Of course specialty items like fajitas are available. But not on the buffet as but a straight menu order. Also don't think of leaving this restaurant without getting its complimentary hot and fresh sopapillas. The is of restaurant quality although the food selections are limited to the basics. This Panchos is the last remaining one in the Houston area.

The Order Status for food I NEVER PICK UP BUT WAS CHARGED FOR!!!

We ordered pupusas, barbacoa, and a burrito. The pupusas were AMAZING (we got the kids' one), and they came with rice and beans that were also really good. My mom had the burrito and felt it could've had more flavor, but overall the food was still solid. The staff was super friendly, the bathrooms were clean and nice, and it was a comfortable spot to grab lunch. Definitely a great place to stop if you're hungry and want a satisfying, casual meal. Serving tacos in the Humble TX area since 2022, Nando's Tacos (not to be confused with the chicken…read morerestaurant) serves up delicious full size tacos. My brother and I stopped in for carryout breakfast tacos on a Sunday morning. Alas, they didn't have brisket breakfast tacos, but had some good alternatives. Their flour tortilla is the choice here, and I believe it is Sonoran style: good enough to just eat by itself. My absolute favorite was the barbacoa ($3.25), very tender stewed beef with added onion and cilantro...not meant to be a breakfast taco I think. The other 3 tacos I tried did have egg. The potato & egg ($3.25) had big chunks of potato and plenty of egg: very filling not particularly tasty. The chorizo and egg ($3.25) was was prepared together, with the small chorizo pieces mixed in with the egg. And the fajita and egg ($4.79) used two slices of skirt steak flavored with fajita flavoring...for my preference, works better in skillet fajitas than in a breakfast taco. They also have menudo on the weekends, and both their corn and flour tortillas are homemade. As mentioned before, the flour tortillas are really good, and the barbacoa is definitely worth a visit.

Between the family, we tried the barbacoa, chicharron, chicken fajita, and a fajita quesadilla. The fresh homemade tortillas really make a difference in every bite. I'd read reviews mentioning they were huge, but honestly, I didn't find them particularly oversized. Not a complaint at all, just not what I expected going in! My daughter loved her quesadilla and especially the cheese pull, which passed her personal "cheese test" with flying colors. The chicharron in salsa verde was a standout for me, perfectly seasoned, with no need for extra salt or salsa. Personally, I'd ask for the onion to be chopped just a bit smaller but that really is the only "complaint" I have. I also ordered the charro beans based on earlier reviews, and they were every bit as flavorful as promised. I'm already looking forward to trying their fresh-squeezed orange juice on our next visit. The staff was wonderfully welcoming from start to finish, and my husband, who went in with low expectations, was blown away by how delicious everything was. We're both so glad we gave this place a try. If you're looking for comforting, well-seasoned food in a warm, inviting setting, Nando's Tacos is absolutely worth the visit.
