Panchos Tacos will serve an entire fish- with everything still on! I'm a huge fan! You had me at 'served complete with head still on!" Yum. Ok- disclaimer- I asked them to serve my fish that way- but regardless- they did- and that was amazing! Really authentic. We tried the chorizo queso for an app- which was soooo good. And with a huge margarita- it def fills you up- And don't overfill on chips and salsa!- Because the entrees are so worth it. I had the Pescado Jarocho (whole fish simmered in chipotle sauce) and my friend had the Fajita de Camarones. Both were outstanding- but my whole fish was perfect. The fish was served with bone- so the meat was succulent and had a nice spice from the chipotle sauce. Sides were the staple rice and beans- but should not be passed up- because the beans were outstanding! While the whole fish isn't the prettiest- it makes up for it in its five star flavors. I came here with some coworkers on our lunch break, otherwise I probably would not have gone on my own. I was really surprised at how good it was and will definitely be back. Parking is a little sketchy but the restaurant is very clean with ample space and fun decor. Good authentic Mexican food, very affordable. I had bistec tacos, my friend had the fajita gringa and it was all delicious. I heard that the Barbacoa is not recommended. All meals come with fresh chips and salsa, and home made hot sauces that are excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and food came promptly. I'm dying to come back and try a margarita from Tequila Corner. Will be back soon! read more

Let me preface with, I'm from Texas so I knew not to have high expectations. A coworker recommended this place so I decided to give it a try. I ordered a cóctel de camarón (Mexican shrimp cocktail) no bueno. The sauce tasted like mostly water with a splash of tomato juice and it was very sugary. I couldn't eat it. My daughter ordered flautas. Can't go wrong with shredded chicken wrapped in a corn tortilla and deep fried right? Sigh, whatever sauce they put on top was pretty gross. The margarita was barely ok not sure what exactly they rimmed the glass with. It is over priced and the service was only ok. I will not be going back and do not recommend it. read more

I am madly in love with this place and have been for a long time. The tacos, tamales, enchiladas and burritos (can't speak for anything else) are authentic and delicious EVERY TIME. Service is friendly and speedy. Their mole sauce is the bomb. If you like spicy I highly recommend the enchiladas a la diabla. Tasty smoky spicy goodness. Tacos with guacamole and their red sauce is heaven on a plate. Their rice and beans mixed with some hot sauce, chopped onion and cilantro and drizzled with lime juice is bangin'. Yum. The tacos were good but the service was bad. We ordered tacos al pastor they had no pineapple and didnt have enough meat. We ordered over the phone for pick up our food was missing an order we had to wait, I was going to get aguande tamarindo which is suppose to be made from real fruit they had this artificial sugar, it turned me off so I ended up not getting itThe owner was very nice he gave us 2 free sodas for the mistake the staff made. read more

This is the best Mexican restaurant in the area. Second in CT only to Tequila Mockingbird in New Canaan (and significantly cheaper). It's genuine Mexican. It may look like a dive, but the people are awesome and the food is great! They also have an impressive tequila collection. You can enjoy the futbol game on their big flat screens or they may have some great Spanish soap operas on, but you won't be able to pay attention because the food is so good. I've been to a lot of Mexican restaurants (and regular restaurants in Mexico) and this is the real deal. They know what they're doing! Enjoy! A menu full of fairly priced, genouse portioned Mexican yumminess. The food is great and the staff/owners are pleasant. You just can't go wrong here and you won't go broke either. If your into margaritas, tequila and such. They've got the mixology chops to put you in AA, before you make it halfway though their drink menu. Treat yourself to a CocaCola made with cain sugar and served in a glass bottle! Because unlike Americans, Mexicans refuse to drink Coke sweetened with lab chemicals and shipped in plastic, made from oil. It can get loud in the dinning area. There's no sound muffling carpet or ceiling tiles. All it take is one upset toddler, to let fly a scream and the water glasses on all the tables shatter. Also, theres a jukebox I've never seen a customer put money into. But every now and then, like magic. It starts playing some Mexican top 40 song at max level. Regardless, these are small issues to deal with, for the wonderful food thats served with with a smile. read more

Great price and selection on Tacos. 2$ each and you can get a 8-10 different types. I had 2 Pork, (Al Carbon & Carnitas) and 1 Lengua (beef tongue), The tacos are served with onions, cilantro, lime and radishes. They also bring two housemade hot sauces with them. All three were really good street style tacos. I also had a tamale which was huge and also tasty. The Margaritas were just average though. There is metered street parking or a lot across the street available after 5. This place is worth a visit. read more

Clean restaurant. SLOW service, even during a slow mid-day meal. There were 2 other tables in the restaurant but the waitresses were busy watching their shows on the television. Not very attentive. I used to bartend down the street to pay for college, and I would get some interesting characters come in to the restaurant. There was a burrito on the menu, and in all honesty, it wasn't that great. So, I was always surprised when people from the southwest would come in to the restaurant I was working at, order the not so good burrito and then say it was the best they could get in the northeast. Little did they know that right down the road was a Mexican restaurant that was better than you could get in the U.S., and just as good as the better restaurants in Mexico. While I was in college, this was the go-to place for Mexican food, and when I'm in the area and am meeting people, this is always my first choice for place to meet up. Many of the people I know who grew up in Mexico agree, this place can't be beat. Just moved to Danbury and was hoping to find a go to Mexican restaurant but Pancho's Tacos is definitely not it! I knew we were in trouble when the chips arrived cold and needing salt and frigid salsa that was the worst salsa I have ever tasted I mean Tostitos salsa is ten times better! I had to add hot sauce and salt to be able eat it! The guacamole needed garlic, lime and salt. My husband's carne asada was tough and tasteless! The one dish that was decent was a dish called Frijoles Deep which is a sort of chili made with beans and chorizo topped with cheese and served with tortillas. I was going to El Coyote in Brookfield for lunch and decided to try a new place. After looking at Yelp reviews I decided on Pancho's Tacos on White St in Danbury Ct. The restaurant itself was nice and clean, the staff was very friendly. The margaritas were large and tasty. I ordered a steak burrito, it came with yellow rice, guacamole, sour cream. It was tasty and large as well. I personally feel drinks were a bit pricey, but all in all I would return. read more
