We went to the restaurant last night for dinner. There were 3 of us. One was young with Latino ethnicity. She had a very good experience with her food and said it tasted authentic. My husband and I are experienced diners. We felt the service lacking. My husband asked for water 4 times. We asked for guacamole as an appetizer and never received it. They tried to deliver it after the meals were served. As the prominent Mexican restaurant in Brookfield. They need to do better. The food was good. The salsa could be thicker. The Sangria is expensive, but it is delicious. They need to slow down and improve service. The restaurant ambient is well done. We will try the new restaurant down the street next time. read more

Authentic Mexican food with amazing service. Our server, Orlando was so nice and attentive. The queso was super delicious. It had onions, peppers, chorizo and ooey gooey melted cheese in a little pot served with fresh flour tortillas. The chicken quesadillas was tasty and served with fries. The fajitas was super fresh and sizzling hot as it came out the kitchen. Fajitas had steak and shrimp and served with flour tortillas, guacamole, very rich and velvety sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes. Rice and beans were such a good compliment to the dishes. We finished the meal with churros and ice cream. The margaritas were very good and they're not stingy with the tequila. The ambiance is very colorful like an authentic Mexican restaurant. One of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a while. We came here on a Friday night and upon walking in it was so loud I couldn't even hear the hostess. We were seated in the bar area which was busy and beyond loud (and yes we did take into consideration that it was a Friday night). My party and I felt like we were shouting to talk and couldn't hear one another. The chips and salsa were great, chips warm and salsa fresh. We ordered mild guac which was also fantastic. The chips, salsa, and guac is why this rating got a star higher. I had personally ordered the burrito grande however I asked to have no meat just everything else inside. I was brought the veggie burrito which I discovered in my first bite. Not only did I not order this, but it was truly gross. The vegetables were cold and they were vegetables that shouldn't have even been put in a burrito. I sent the burrito back exclaiming it's not what I ordered and they brought out the burrito grande which after one bite I also couldn't eat. It was gross and this simple modification shouldn't have been so troublesome, they could have also simply said no to it. We also ordered steak chimichangas which were ok, nothing special and not the worst. The cheese quesadilla was also average. As for the service, it was so busy in the bar area it was hard for any of the servers to move around. Our service in particular wasn't great - after my order being wrong we didn't get an apology and didn't see our waiter. I've been here numerous times and have never had this experience, but that was my last time I won't be coming back. read more

Phenomenal place! We did a gathering for a girls dinner and it was a blast. The ambiance is amazing; it's lively, but yet cozy; at times it did get a bit too loud making it hard to hear one another over the mariachi music and the surrounding people. The restaraunt was also extremely packed which made it a pretty loud place in overall. The service was on point. Our waiters checked on us constantly, and our food came out quickly. The food was delicious. I was not able to get pictures of everyone's meals - sorry . You will enjoy coming here. If your coming on a weekend make a reservation otherwise your wait at the door will be awhile. For my GF/DF people: I alerted them of my allergies. They assisted me in altering my meals. We came here for a date night. We got a spot right in front so I couldn't tell the whole parking situation. There is a sign that says no parking for restaurant past this point, so parking may be an issue at times. There's inside and outside seating. The staff was very friendly including the Mariachi Band that came to each of the tables. There was music playing when the band wasn't. The decor was authentic and cool. The food was very good. They give you chips with fresh salsa to start. It was good, but very filling. I almost had a problem finishing my meal, almost. We got the chicken tamales as appetizers. They were very good, especially the sauces. They were full pieces of chicken, I've only had shredded with tamales. I had the number one combo. All the combos come with rice and refried beans. I wasn't the biggest fan of the beef chimichanga but the sauce was very good. The chicken enchilada tasted a lot better. I think my favorite part was dessert. We got the churros with ice cream. A nice surprise was that the churros were stuffed with dulce de leche. The mix of the churros with the ice cream hot the spot. We will definitely be coming back for more churros. read more

My wife wanted to go out for Mexican for our anniversary and despite growing up in Brookfield has never been here. As any good Mexican restaurant is, they immediately brought out bowls of chips and salsa which were decent and needed to be refilled in short time. Meals were good, particularly the mains. First of all, the prices have increased to a significant degree - a tiny (and I mean tiny) weak margarita is now $11.00 and the large version is $22.00, plus most menu items have gone up while the portions have gone down. Ordered the fish tacos and instead of getting a nice filet, it was just small diced-up pieces of fish mixed with the vegetable fillers. Been here a few times. The drinks are great, the food is kind of mushy however. The service is usually excellent. They have a live mariachi band (which reminds me of the tv show Silicon. Alley). The food is consistently good. The salsa and chips are fresh. I ordered the Vegetable Chimichangas and they were delicious. They stuff the chimichangas with a nice variety of veggies (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, tomatoes, onions). They are fried perfectly and covered in a red sauce. This is my favorite go to meal. My friend had a combo platter and enjoyed it. They add guacamole and sour cream which is a nice addition. The service is very good. I don't want to be the kind of person who posts a poor review on Yelp gratuitously, so I have some misgivings at the outset. I'll share as a preamble that there's a category of people who'd be expected to think this joint is great - and I don't want to take that away from them. I'm one of those persons with higher expectations, in line with the intended style, price point, and presentation. If you're like me, this is for you. I'm not going to waste my time trying to sound like a restaurant critic picking apart each thing I ate, or waste your time reading that. I will tell what I found less than satisfactory or sub-par (again, keeping a reasonable yardstick in mind for the intended market, price point, etc.): waitstaff attentiveness; quality of ingredients, as sourced by their suppliers; accuracy of execution of dishes as described on menu (i.e. does the presented dish accurately reflect the menu description); quality of execution (i.e. how well the prep and line cooks do their job). As a broad truism, I'd observe that Mexican cuisine in the Northeast US pales by comparison to what's commonly found in the Western US. Certainly, there are plenty of Mexicanos in the greater NY area, and I don't know why we wouldn't expect them to be capable of offering the same quality food I've had in California, Texas, or Mexico itself. To state it plainly, this is Mexican food for white people who don't know the difference. If you're in the Danbury area, you're better off finding a place where no one speaks English, and doing the best you can with your high school Español. I can recall one such place in downtown Danbury that was entirely appealing. There's a cold truth to restaurant dining: you'll pay about the same, given underlying operating costs, for a mediocre meal as you will for an above average one. Spend wisely... read more
