This is a cute and delicious little Chinese restaurant in Eureka. The inside is simple but cute, cozy, and clean. Don't expect some grand Chinese palace, this isn't that. This is a small and cozy mom and pop restaurant. My cousin and I enjoyed the atmosphere for this reason. I ordered a small hot & sour soup as well as the Mongolian Beef. The small soup is in a bowl, so more than enough as an appetizer. If you don't have as big of an appetite then I recommend ordering a cup of soup, which is smaller. The Mongolian Beef was served with white rice and it was delicious. The onions and broccoli were perfectly cooked, and the beef had an excellent texture and taste to it. The white rice paired nicely with the flavors from the Mongolian beef. My cousin ordered the same as me and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was also excellent. My only suggestion would be to add a little more mushroom to the hot and sour soup but the soup was still very good as is. This is just a personally preference. What I did not like was that the egg rolls, while very freshly fried, were very oily ... literally leaking oil onto my hand and plate. Not sure the picture shows this well, but it was quite oily. The pork fried rice that came as a rice choice with the lunch special should probably be named "essence of pork" fried rice, but despite the minimal pork, it was good. I chose sesame chicken and my lunch companion had sweet and sour chicken. They were essentially the same dish, with just slightly different sauces. The portions were very generous. My friends and I were in search of some tasty Chinese food in the area for dinner everywhere we tried to go to were closed except this one. We were welcomed by a sweet older lady who seated us. She was great conversationalist and was helpful to our wants and needs. The seating was very comfortable and the decor is more retro and nostalgic to me. I ordered one of the dinner combos and oh my goodness there was so much food most of us could hardly finish our meal as we were stuffed. The server, who I think might have been the owner, was very friendly and trying really hard, but this was honestly the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life. The food took forever to come out. The fried rice was flavorless. Maybe they put a dab of dark soy sauce in it and that was it. Rice seemed fresh instead of using older rice so texture was weird. Szechuan beef was dripping in a sweet and sour sauce and in a pool of oil, was not spicy as I requested, and many pieces were stuck together and not fried the cook must have just thrown pieces in together because he was in a rush and so there were big clumps of beef that were not even fried because it was stuck together. The orange chicken was rock hard. Literally tasted so stale and hard, not crispy at all, just hard. The silverware was dirty. I will say, the prices were very good but I would have rather paid more for edible food. This is one of the few times in my entire life the food was so bad I couldn't eat. We paid and left and went and ate at another restaurant. I'm so disappointed. read more

Consistently bad food. The owner waits tables and her husband is the cook. They are very nice and charming. But their food is flavorless, too much oil and bland. The soups are disgusting and without any flavor, Specifically the egg drop soup - tastes the way dirty socks smell. Most of the dishes have very little meat. Strangely, all the different dishes look and taste the same with a sort of different sauce. The sweet and sour pork could break a tooth it's so hard and the orange chicken looks and tastes like the sweet and sour pork, and hard as a rock too. Always too much oil. Not worth the money. Last night we had an excellent dinner experience (for a reasonable cost) -- sweet and sour pork with rice & broccoli, garlic noodles, egg plant & tofu combo plate and ham fried rice. This place was a Chinese restaurant when our family first moved to town in 1974.   It's changed owners and names a few times over the years.   This was my first visit under this version of the restaurant.   I walked in, and the lady running the place was very nice.    I got my own menu, and found my own seat.   She came to take my order right away.   I looked at the menu, and decided on the Triple Delight  lunch special. The Triple Delight is Chicken, beef and prawns, with veggies in a Chinese brown sauce.    You have a choice of what you want for your sides.   I chose the egg drop soup, and the crab and cheese puffs.   It also comes with a choice of steamed or fried rice, I had the fried rice.  .   Lunch was good.   It was a lunch sized portion, so it was not huge, but it was just enough to fill me up.   The egg drop soup had plenty of egg, and was not oily or greasy at all.   It had a good flavor.   I liked the puffs.  I don't know if it was real crab or not, but the combination of the seafood and the cream cheese was a good mix.   The rice was done well, good texture, and was not overly fried or overly sauced.   There was a fair amount of the 3 proteins, They were not over or under cooked, and i liked the sauce.   The only negative, was the veggies were a *bit* overdone.   They still tasted good, they still had a bit of a "snap" to them, but they were also wilted a bit.   It was around $14 after tip and beverage.   A decent price.   I'd come back and try some of the other things.   Thanks!!!l read more

Find this place while stay one night at Eureka First , this is our first time traveling here , after a whole day driving we just need some food then rest ! This is a great option for Chinese food here in Eureka. Their orange peel beef is delicious! The chow mein isn't my favorite, but still worth it. And the owners/employees are always great, always so kind, and working so hard. One note is to plan on it taking a minute, they're always super busy. I'd suggest planning on it taking longer than the quoted time. Tonight I was quoted 25 mins a for a take out order and it took 60 mins. That's the longest it's ever been, but it's regularly longer than the estimated time. Highly recommend, it's worth the try! read more

Dinner tonight. The restaurant was super-clean. I was the only customer which was worrying, but the waitress said Wednesdays and Thursdays were very slow. I had Chinese chicken salad, orange beef, and garlic noodles. I asked for medium heat level and I'm glad I didn't ask for any hotter because it would have been way too hot for me to eat. The chicken salad was just meh. Iceberg lettuce, rice noodles that weren't particularly crunchy, small chunks of chicken, a scent of undetectable mustard, and too much soy sauce. Not recommended. But the garlic noodles were pretty good. Not too salty with plenty of garlic. The orange beef was pretty hot. The texture was... odd. Like breaded pounded round steak that wound up in a stir fry. Could have used more sauce, but overall pretty good. There was a little very good broccoli at one end of the plate and a small portion of steamed rice. Portions were very generous. I came here for dinner with my friend because she was in town. She wanted to come here so we gave it a go. We were greeted and seated instantly so that was nice. I ordered the egg young soup and the kung pao chicken. The egg young soup had decent flavor and I was surprised it had corn in it. I have never had it with corn before so that was very interesting to try. The kung pao chicken I ordered extremely spicy and I would have called it mild at best. There was a decent amount of food on the plate and I was hungry so I was a happy camper until I dug in. There was flavor but it was so light I could barely taste it. From what I could taste, it was ok. I don't know why the flavor was so watered down. I thought it was just me but my friend's beef and broccoli was the same way. Hers was actually worse than mine. It was like they forgot to season and salt hers. The meat and veggies were cooked well though. We need to get some flavor though. I took my leftovers home and fixed it to be a little better. Stopped in the evening hoping for some familiar flavors and while the service was great a and the people who worked there were fantastically pleasant, the ambiance and food wasn't what I was expecting. The inside of the building is spattered with teal and pink interior. After we ordered our food, the tables, walls and counter began to shake, and I could only think it was a very off-balance exhaust fan that was off balance shaking the place. It was quite an experience. When it comes to the food, I would say be careful of the level of spice you ask for. I generally don't shy away from spices and ordered "medium" heat- woo wee! Amazing service. My first experience hear was great, I defeinelty will be back. Clean tables and hot made to order food. I walked in and was greeted immediately. They offer a variety of lunch specials and daily specials. I was with a friend who knew the menu quite well. We ordered the salt and pepper shrimp and the chicken wings. Along with cheese puffs. So fresh and hot, I knew they were made to order. This is one of the few traditional chinese spots in Humboldt. Very tasty I highly recommend and will certainly be back! read more

That makes no sense to TURN AWAY business when you have over 45-50+ minutes to prepare a meal and have the audacity to turn us away when the restaurant wasn't even busy so I don't get how there could be "so many meals ahead they had to make that they couldn't make time for one more.
