I havent been here years never thought the donuts were special. Though I haven't visited in person in about 5 years until this morning, I recently had their apple fritter a week ago which a coworker had brought in to work. It left a very waxy film in your mouth unlike donut mill which makes exceptional apple fritters. I assume they use some solid frying oil like shortening or something. But the real reason for leaving this review is as I came in. I asked for a round glazed cinnamon roll. It was 6.95. An apple fritter was 6.95. A dozen donut holes was 5.95 a glazed donut was 2.95. Are you absolutely out of your mind? The donuts are so mid tier and youre charging more for that filth than a local bakery does for their pastries. Absolutely out of your minds. We would always make fun of this place because the lady would be so obnoxious and always be like and then and then and then what else what else you want what else you want and then what else you want. Like nothing I want one donut that's it. Thank god she wasnt there this morning and it was some other gentlemen. I gladly told him I didn't know donuts were so expensive and I walked out. I've driven past this place all the time, but never stopped. I came in today, because they were doing a fundraiser for autism. Which I thought was nice. The donuts looked great, and I like the reviews, but this time I came for the Chinese food.. The space is very clean, and the lady who runs the place was very, very friendly and helpful. All of the food looked good. They have both fried and non-fried options. I went for the two item combo, and instead of fried rice and chow mein, I had steamed rice. I ordered the non-spicy curry chicken, and the chicken with carrots and broccoli. Overall, the food was good. The chicken was tender and flavorful, and in both dishes, the veggies were perfectly al dente. The rice was also the perfect texture. On the curry chicken, I don't know if there was a misunderstanding on either of our end, because I did get a spicier chicken dish. it was well within what I'm comfortable with spicy, and the flavor was very good. It just wasn't what I was expecting. But hey, it happens. While food was very good, it was just a tiny bit oily. I could feel a tiny bit of the oil on my lips. Again, I do realize that that's how they cook the food in the wok. For a very large plate of food, I only paid 12 bucks. Extremely reasonable. Worst Donut Shop Experience of My Life. Stay Away. I don't even know where to begin. $37.50 for a dozen donuts. Let that sink in. When I had the audacity to ask what justified that price, the owner didn't just fail to answer -- she turned immediately hostile, became openly rude to me, and then tried to enlist other customers in the store to gang up on me. In a donut shop. Over a price question. Rather than addressing my concern professionally, she attempted to drag strangers into the confrontation -- what should have been a straightforward conversation between a business owner and a paying customer turned into something embarrassing and hostile. A business owner who responds to basic questions by belittling customers and stirring up conflict has no business running a business. On top of that, the store itself was visibly dirty. Cleanliness is non-negotiable when you're handling food that people put in their mouths -- it's the bare minimum. The hygiene standards on display were deeply concerning and off-putting. This place deserves zero stars. If you value your money, your dignity, and basic food safety standards, do yourself a favor and drive right past it. I will not be returning. read more

Everything about this place is Cap and Overpriced!!!!! The "Breakfast Burrito" was the size of a McDonalds breakfast burrito literally only tasted cheese and was mostly egg OVERPRICED* the Blended drink was good and the "BEST DONUTS" NO it tasted like other food and was not that good maybe the best for this town but I give that whole things 2-10 . I want to start by saying I wasn't actually able to try the donuts here. I went at around 6:20am. The front door says they open at 5am, this has been changed. I tried the door and it was locked, so I went to the drive thru. After a few moments a man came to the window. I told him I thought they opened at 5, he told me "no, it's 6 now, but we don't have anything ready. We make everything fresh, we only have old fashioned ready now." I told him that it was ok, and left. I understand making everything fresh, and changing your hours, but I was still told you open at 6am. I was there after 6 and yet still nothing was ready? This is a small donut shop but busy. Donuts are the king here. Bigass apple fritters that are as big as a dinner plate, and just plane awesomeness. Only donut shop around with curlers daily. It's easy to build a box of several different delicious fried flour combinations, my recent visit and $18 bucks later for a big box full. Baking fresh daily and throughout the day, especially for the apple fritters - they go quickly. Also does express style Chinese food to go. Haven't tried it yet, but it all looked great and if it's as good as the donut side of the shop should be pretty good. Plan to grab some the next time I'm in the neighborhood. I have lived in Humboldt for the last 10 years, and this by FAR is the best fast food chinese spot I've had! I absolutely recommend this spot over the mall chinese fast food restaurant. Also, I ordered a donut with my meal and it surpassed even Don's donuts for me! Holy smokes! I'm trying to lose weight, but finding this place has got me questioning how committed ill be! So I grabbed a quick ham & cheese croissant for the wife and I at Happy Donut today and the service was pleasant as usual. I get home and pull them out if the grease soaked bags and we cut them in half. To my surprise, I don't find any ham or cheese?? Upon further destruction of the croissants, we find one (1) slice of ham and no cheese??? We think, where did it go.... Hmmm, maybe they forgot to put it in there... weird... After spending $16.80 for 2 non-ham & cheese croissants and 2 donuts, my wife decides to take it back and inquire. She drives across town and speaks to them, where she was rudely told, they put 1 1/2 slices of ham in each one, there are no returns(which I understand) no refunds and no replacements.... WTF!! The food is marginal at best, but the attitude sucks.
