Lots of choices, quick service, food taste and quality not bad, price point could use some improvement, I do recommend though.

It was a Friday night. Thinking they closed at nine, I went to dollar tree first. I pulled in to the restaurant at 8:02 PM, and the gentleman, I assume the owner, told me that they had closed at eight. However, he said, come in, and he would make my food for me. Thinking it was something simple, I ordered the house special chow fun, not realizing that I was ordering something with three proteins. Still, he was very nice, and said no problem at all. It had the chow fun noodles, chicken, beef, and shrimp, and some veggies. My order came out quick, and I was on my way. The food was very good. Ordered by phone in advanced for pick up to-go. When we got back home the chow mein had atleast 85% oily onions, cabbage and veggies and only a few burnt noodles with chicken. I asked for light veggies. The chicken fried rice was burned fried rice, it looked and tasted burnt. I was sad to have had this experience as this spot came recommended. Read positive reviews about the orange chicken but I found it to be overly breaded with a thickness that was not appealing to me. The broccoli beef, however, was really tasty, with a good proportion of beef:broccoli. The fried rice was pretty good - not overly oily as I have found some to be. The chicken chow mein had a little of very nice fresh vegetables; I didn't find the dish to be particularly flavorful, however. Soy sauce helped bring it to life. A couple of us had lunch on Thursday. Overall the food was very salty and greasy. The saving grace was the hot and sour soup. The soup was excellent. Otherwise too much salt and MSG. I was bloated the next day from all of the water retention form the excess salt. read more

In the past the food was delicious. Last Thursday I ordered Chinese Chicken Salad to go. It was only chicken and lettuce with a little bit of dressing. No napkins or a fork. I'm so glad that I was the one who ate the glass because I was going to serve it to children. Ordered take out and was extremely disappointed. Overpriced and low quality. The Chicken Chow Mein was 95% onion and cabbage with a few noodles and a couple small pieces of chicken. The batter used for the szechuan beef and sweet n sour pork was soft and chewy and everything tasted like old rancid cooking oil. The sweet n sour sauce had no flavor. Although the prices were fair, the food was not to par. I got the veggie chow mein and it barely tasted like anything. It had that yummy smell first and then I took my first bite and was disappointed. It had a heavy onion taste and that's about it. I also got the fried rice with pork and the mar far chicken and both were just as bland. With our combo was a wonton soup that tasted like lightly salted water and the wontons themselves just tasted like the beef within it. The saving grace was the crab fried wontons. I decided to give the place a try as I had been curious about it for a while. I went during lunch to check out the specials. As expected, there were several different combinations available. I settled on the less-adventurous choice of orange chicken, fried rice and fried wonton. The place was fairly quiet (though not dead) during the lunch hour. I was told to choose my seat, and the tables and upholstery were reasonably clean. Service was fine. Nobody really checked on me from when the food arrived until the point when I got the check. The food was decent. I chose wonton soup as an appetizer. It arrived in a glorified teacup with two wonton, which I thought was a bit skimpy. The broth was pretty bland. The orange chicken had a lighter color (more golden than brown) and consistency than I'm used to. I did like the fact that it appeared to be healthier white meat as opposed to the traditional (but to be fair, generally more flavorful) dark meat. The wonton were fried well though there was minimal filling. The rice was unremarkable. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication where I had requested more hot peppers in my chicken, but ended up with a lot of diced green bell pepper added to the chicken. Oh well. Additionally, when I requested garlic chili sauce, it was brought out in a small bowl similar to a teacup without any lid. The bowl was cold so it had probably been sitting in a fridge. In the sauce I saw several bits of rice, which indicated that the spoon had probably been in contact with someone else's food and dipped back into the sauce where it stayed for an undetermined amount of time until it found its way to me. I may return at some point but nothing about my initial visit inspired me to return any time soon. read more

My friend and I were starving in Myrtletown waiting for my car to get fixed and had passed this place prior to going to the mechanic so on our way back we decided to try it out! It's a small business obviously family owned, decor is meh it's not somewhere you'd go for the atmosphere--to be fair we were there to EAT haha. Anyway we were looking at the menu and realized we were just in time for their lunch special! The highest prices on those was 7.99! And this includes either a soup or salad. I ordered the Orange Chicken special which came with fried rice, orange chicken, fried wontons and my friend got the Tofu and Veggies Stir Fry special which came with Wontons and steamed rice--we also ordered a side of vegetable chow mein (MMMM!!!). Their orange sauce was soo good I could totally taste the orange-ness, like they use fresh oranges in their sauce, their fried rice was also really good. And the wontons were good, fried but crispy not soggy or too greasy. The vegetable chow mein was absolutely delicious and they're very generous with their veggies and portion size overall. My total was 8 dollars and some change I was really surpised! I did leave a well-deserved tip for the kind lady. I will be going back very soon to try their other specials! After Liu's restaurant went under, this became our go-to local Chinese restaurant. Until the Covid 19 pandemic, which forced them to go takeout only. They reopened dining in recently, and it's not the same as before. Service has become hit or miss, with overtones of anger and hostility along with a subtle dollop of poor, poor pitiful me. The portions are lots smaller, and the food itself has deteriorated in quality and tastiness. Kind of sad to see the effects of the pandemic on a business that was thriving. read more

Nice quiet place to eat. Food is decent. Mu Shu Pork is a favorite for me. Would like it if the brought back the Bao (BBQ Pork Steamed Bun) Customer service is always good. Well, this was my 3rd time there and probably the last. I wanted to give my comments in hope that they would improve. the table was not properly cleaned and was sticky. I only got 1 napkin and need 3 i got one fork and needed a spoon and knife to cut the pork appetizer. I got my beer and she poured only half into the glass(?) my shoes were sticking to the floor I ordered the Coconut Shrimp which was bland and came with french fries that were good. ( $12) the BBQ pork was like something already made up and the fake red dye around the edges not good for me to see. not tasty the server never came back to see if I needed water or something else. the Chicken Fried rice lacked veggies and no flavor. all cost about $33 -not good. I dont think they will be seeing me anytime soon. read more

This is by far the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life, so bad that I actually brought it back for my refund where the manager (or owner or whatever she was) sat there and dumped out the food and soup I brought back into a bowl,in front of me and several guests, and was questioning how much I ate and yelling/accusing me of eating the food. I ordered the szechuan beef, not sure if you've ever seen it or had it, but what I got was absolutely foul. Deep fried pieces of rubber is what it taste like. And the sauce, gross. And it had NO vegetables! Their wonton soup only had like 4-5 little wontons in it, again no vegetables or anything. And I don't even know what was In my potsticker, definitely no vegetables, just some weird white stuff rolled in it. The chow mein was so soggy and oily and had half my noodles were burnt (probably from just keeping it on a warmer all day). Im new to the area and was referred by a friend to check out tea garden, Absolute horrible experience and I will never go back or recommend anyone eating at this disgusting place. And one of my fortune cookies wasn't even wrapped, but the other was. Absolutely nothing good about this restaurant. read more

This is by far the worst Chinese food I've ever tasted in my life! Coming from LA to the central valley and now Humboldt. The food gets more bland as I go north. This is my 2nd time trying this food, thank God I didn't have to pay a cent either time, because it was ordered by someone for catering. As I watch everyone around me eat the food and not complain, I'm wondering if something is wrong with their taste buds. The chow mein looks to be days old and has NO flavor. Quiet little place which looked promising as the definition of a Hole In The Wall place. Wasn't worth throwing away but, the food was void of flavor. The fried rice didn't have veggies in it and their wasn't much flavor or meat, the pork chow fun had veggies without flavor as well. What I love about them is their large selection of non-coffee items for a non-drinker like me :) My favorite right now is their Electric Lemonades, you can add any flavor you want and you can have it just over ice, blended or you can add the smoothie mix as well...they are delicious in all the options!!!! The main course Honey cashew shrimp, same issue with the honey sauce being more a mayonnaise with little honey flavor. Wanton soup was hot water with 1 wonton, very disappointing meal.
