We were traveling south on I-81 in mid-Sept 2023, hoping to find a lunch spot with either Chinese or Thai food. This Panda Express in Bristol, Tennessee fit the bill. The restaurant is in a stand-alone building with free parking and with relatively easy access on/off the highway. There are also many other food choices nearby. Given that the Panda Express wasn't too busy, we walked along the glass-covered counter to check-out all of the food choices before ordering. We each decided to get a "panda bowl", which comes with one entree and a choice of side (lo mein, white rice; brown rice; or mixed vegetables). Tip: we realized only later that we could've selected two half-orders of the sides. There are also options for more food, including plates with two entrees and a side or family meals. Anyway, back to our orders. I selected the mushroom chicken with mushrooms and lo mein ($7.90), while my husband selected the honey sesame chicken breast with lo mein (also $7.90). I also got a small, self-service. fountain drink fir $2.10. We both enjoyed our food, rating it (4/5). While tasty, the quantity of the entrees was on the smaller side relative to the quantity of the lo mein. Service was great (5/5). Our server was Benjamin, and he waited patiently while we debated what to order. The cooks were also diligently keeping the good choices topped off. The restaurant was also clean. The tanked wee wiped down after customers left. Note also that Panda Express has a Rewards program. We didn't join as we don't have this restaurant near home. read more

First and last Panda Express i'll ever be to. Food was absolutely terrible. Noodles were dry and tasted like nothing, but so much nothing that it was nasty. Team members were nice enough, but service took forever with only 5 customers and a not very busy drive thru. The large drink is, as advertised. Very large drink for an amazing price. The food at this restaurant was never great but the last time I went there, last week, I ordered Teriyaki chicken. It was like a plate of pure fat. I threw it away after one bite. It isn't cheap but I wasn't going back to the restaurant and I certainly wasn't going to eat it. The quality of the food is so subpar. I would recommend it to no one. read more

I should know better than to even try. Picture this... We drive five miles to get Panda Express. It's 3:56pm. There are only two of us. There are NO customers in the parking lot. We use the drive through We order our food while dodging a SWARM of yellow jackets that are trying to get into the car. The girl taking the order tells us they've been "trying to get rid of those bees for a while but they keep coming back"... We pull up to the window and pay. The drive through lady gets our money. She THEN informs us that we need to drive to the front entrance and she'll be out with the food. Okay...no problem. Five minutes pass... Another car pulls around and parks next to us. Five more minutes pass... Five MORE minutes pass... At 4:15 he gets out of the car and politely asks how much longer the wait will be... She asks what he's waiting for...‍ Did I happen to mention there was only one other car there?! I'm in a silver SUV...the lady next to me is in a little car...alone. He tells her what we ordered and that we've been out there for over 15 minutes... Server says a few more minutes... He tells her that we're running late and would it just be possible to get a refund. She says it'll just be another minute or so. No apology. No solid explanation other than...we're waiting on steak I guess. We had ordered two plates...egg rolls with hot mustard and drinks. Kung Pao Chicken Teriyaki Chicken (no sauce) I had all vegetables for my side The steak entree with red bell pepper Orange Chicken He had plain white rice as his side Still...the only customers are us and the other car. Now we're at about 25 minutes... An employee with green hair walks out and gives the car that was there after us, their food and starts to walk back inside. And then...another employee walks to the door and hands the green hair guy our food. He turned around and brought it to us and as he's walking away says... Oh yeah... Sorry 'bout the wait. Now...here's the deal...they only had the two cars outside. There's no dining in their dining room so there wasn't a crazy distraction there. And...there weren't even any door dash or other delivery people waiting. So...we still can't figure out what the deal was. Oh...and I had ordered the teriyaki sauce on the side instead of pouring it on the chicken. He tries to call the number on the back of the receipt to do a review...and that had been disconnected. Oh well. We drive five miles back to the house with the food. Positives: His food was okay. My food was alright except: No teriyaki sauce No hot mustard No forks Part of me is like...okay it was $26 or so...and I shouldn't that much. But the other part of me was like...why did I do this again? I have never had a great or even decent experience there. I should know better. So that's that. C'mon man, Panda. Please do better. Barely any meat in the Kung Pao Chicken.. I told the Mgr about it and a smart mouthed girl with a name tag Alicia replied that it HAS got more veggies than chicken,,, I told her it didn't have but 4 or 5 very small pieces in it. Omg just finished my meal from Panda. I ordered Orange Chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. It's been... just okay in the past. Keep this cook! My food was perfect!!! The Kung Pao Chicken was actually spicy! I'm so excited about this! The Orange Chicken was better too; it had more of a glaze. Sometimes proportions are off but they seemed to have them down today. Disappointed... Only 1 vegetarian entree available super greens. It's barely warmed and practically raw and small portions. Kale contained large thick stringy kale stalks that were too stringy to chew let alone swallow. Chow mein is mushy along with the spring rolls. Come on how about at least one dish with tofu! First time I ever had pandas express. I was deeply disappointed. I went through the drive though so I didn't really get to really take a good look at my food. All of my food was dry and burnt. It was pretty upsetting. I ordered the fried rice, which were dry and stale. I tried the chow mein and it was like burnt dry spaghetti with some celery bits. The egg roll was so burnt that it just fell to ash when I grabbed it. The crab Rangoon was dry and gross. Lastly the spring roll was probably the one thing that was okay. Guess it was fresh? Basically, I never would go here again, I'd rather just hit up a local Chinese joint. This was a waste of money, that I just threw out. read more

Everytime I go here they are out of everything, or for what they do have there is a ten minute wait. The manager of this location needs to be fired, and be replaced with someone who understands how to order product. Before anyone says anything this was going on pre-pandemic at this location, so it's nothing they can blame on covid. Great, Chinese food with a wide variety of entrees & sides to choose from. Staff are always friendly & the food is always fresh & hot! Call-in/pick-up, use the drive-thru or dine inside (or out)..., lots of clean tables & seats! If you like your food spicy, try the 'Bejing Beef '...it's super crunchy & spicy or the 'Sweetfire Chicken'...it's lightly breaded/fried with loads of sweet peppers & sauce. Ok so my first experience at a Panda Express. I chose the Angus steak and the steak was globby and not delish but the veggies and sauce were great. Overall this is a good place to grab some Chinese but stay away from the steak. Ok so i always try to stop by here before going home. Omg they are always out of everything. people that work there is rude. No one even says hello. And never apologize for making us wait. Today i waited 15 min for teriyaki chicken. And not just that the portion was a joke. And again no apology or even sorry for waiting. I am never ever going to stop there. I read the mixed reviews and am not surprised. This area seems to not be able to put together or hold on to good staff (except Chick Fil E) and while you may enjoy a certain chain elsewhere, for some reason the ones in Bristol are not as well run. A broad generalization I realize. But my experience at this Panda Express has always been very good. I've eaten here mostly in the evenings, always at the drive through and about ten times total. read more

We have eaten at several different locations but this one was by far the most clean and friendly. We arrived at 9:15 pm and they close at 9:30 but the manager was extremely friendly and no one there made us feel like we weren't welcome to stay as long as we like. I love a Panda Express. But this one is the worst. I've been craving Panda Express Beef and Broccoli all day. I went to this location. Well Guess what... They had beef and broccoli. But it was all broccoli no meat in it at all. So I went ahead and ordered the chow mien and a fountain drink. The chow mein was so cold, the noodles couldn't be separated and my Mountain Dew was flat. I'm totally disappointed. I will not be back. I've gave them several chances over time. The first time we are here it was a mess. The drink machine was only serving two or three choices. The ice machine was broken. Seriously? They gave me teriyaki sauce when I asked for soy sauce. Really? The rice was dry and the chicken was burnt. The eggrolls were way over cooked and the wontons were chewy not crunchy. We were disappointed. I've had several great experiences and great meals from Panda Express. I first ate at Panda Express in Pearlridge in Honolulu years ago and have eaten at several in other locations around the country. I was very happy when this one opened at the Pinnacle. My visit yesterday was to the drive through; my concern was that the speaker at the drive through seemed muffled and was a bit difficult to understand. I don't know if the speaker had issues, or the young man using the headset was muffled in what he said. I will happily share that the KungPao Chicken and the Beijing Beef were both excellent. I also had a chicken egg roll which was spiced perfectly, and two half orders of fried rice, which I thought was great. I can't speak to interior cleanliness, but I can certainly report that the product was cooked to order, it was served quickly, and it was more than satisfactory for the price paid. read more

I have eaten at this restaurant only twice. Each time I ordered the beef and broccoli and both times received two or three thinly sliced pieces of beef which were small in size. I had so much broccoli that I believe it was an entire head of broccoli. I threw most of the broccoli in the garbage because it was way too much to eat. The service took 15 minutes in the drive through where we were the only ones there, not to mention the order being wrong and having to drive back to get a refund and refused an additional free side to replace the one we originally ordered. However, I have to say I was horribly disappointed, I decided to try the Beijing Beef and Chow Mein, the sauce was ok at best, the beef was either over fried and broke apart trying to eat it or extremely rubbery. The noodles were dry and tasteless and everything was cold. I decided to go through the drive though due to the convenience. The person taking my order was nice enough I guess, so plus one star.
