Intrigued as this is a chain that we aren't familiar with. It's super cute little burger joint that's drive thru only. They do have the tagline 'sudden service' for a reason. As soon as you pull to the opposite side of the building your order is ready to go. Beware if you feel pressured or anxious at a drive thru. Cashiers were super friendly and patient (remember our first time here). Pulled up and was told no shakes or fries were available. That was disappointing. So, didn't really get to have the full Pal's experience. Ordered the chili burger which was delicious and huge! Also got an unsweetened tea and a Mr. Enough (local herbal drink). All were good. We did have a local with us who assured us that everything is tasty there. Unfortunately, we only experienced a super limited menu, but had terrific service. read more

I got a patty melt, sweet tea, and a large fry to share with my wife who for some reason thought she could eat a big double with cheese WRONG...that thing was massive. Everything tasted exactly how I wanted it to taste, service was friendly and fast. read more

The food and drinks were very delicious. It's the service that I didn't care too much for the guy who was taking my money at the window decided to make remarks about me. I was nice as pie through the drive-thru. I didn't say anything to any of them because I just wanted food and I've worked in fast food. Classic burger joint with Mom and Pop old school feel. I ordered the cheeseburger and hotdog. Everything was fresh, made to order, and hot! My burger could have used a tad bit more seasoning but it was very good as is. The staff were extremely friendly and kind and made good conversation with me while I waited for my food to cook. on my way to the races and needing some nourishment, saw this place perched up on a hill and figured with a name like Pal's... so I made my way up to the window, took a quick look at the menu and went with a big pal, fries, and a coke - not a combo because they don't do that here, menu is ala carte. place your order on this side then drive around to pay and get your food on the other... kinda makes sense sort of in an odd sort of way 'cause you get to talk to a real person both times and I guess that counts for something. so I get my stuff and look for a small patch of shade and consume nearly all my fries in transit (go figure) got parked and tuck in to a surprisingly well constructed burger: 1/3 pound patty, lettuce, onion, tomato, and mayo on a soft firm bun and it maintained its burgeriness to the last bite - no drips, no spills, no problem :-) kinda wish I lived nearby so I'd have a clean comfortable place to sit and eat but when that's my biggest concern for travelling food I'm doing pretty okay. read more

i love pals. but, waffle house is not on yelp yet so i have come to here to rant about it. (the star rating is about pals) person 1 - waffle house is absolute shit, we were there for 40 minutes and we didn't get waited on . people after us didn't get served either -10/10 waffle house is the shittiest restaurant i've ever been to period. person 2 - one of my friends went up to the counter and asked if we could at least get our drink order as one of the workers were serving a table that was there after we arrived. person 3 - we had already sat down and another group walks in and sits down. long story short the only thing we had gotten was forks and straws, yet they had already gotten their food, we never even had the chance to order drinks. read more

Yesterday I drove from Damascus to Pal's in Abingdon and ordered 2 burgers, 2 frenchy fries and 2 chocolate shakes. They did not repeat my order to me, but I still drove around to the pickup window and drove back to Damascus. When I opened the bags, I found that they had given me 7....yes seven bags of frenchy fries, that I did pay for (stupid me). The people working there really need to repeat the order before charging people. read more
