The amount of time it took to get our food was outrageous. Just for chowmein it took 20 minutes and they're were only 2 people here.

Pretty bad. Painfully slow. 8 employees. No one could ring up my food. Avoid this place.

The Kung Pao chicken was also super tasty if you like a bit of a kick you might want to ask for some extra spice next time. We also really enjoyed the shrimp fried rice and those yummy egg rolls you get two per order. Just a heads up though the portions for dine in felt a tad on the smaller side especially for the sesame chicken. On the service front it was a bit hit or miss. We found ourselves with empty drink glasses for quite a while and it seemed like the staff mainly came by to take our order and drop off the food. However, there was a really sweet young kid at the register who was super helpful and friendly he definitely brightened things up. Finding the place can be a bit of an adventure. It's tucked away in a cozy corner right next to the grocery store so you really only spot it once you've parked. Oh and a quick tip make sure you don't mix it up with the Korean restaurant nearby. A couple of minor bummer moments the chicken lo mein wasn't quite what we hoped for. The noodles were super thin and crunchy rather than the thicker, chewier kind we expected and sadly they were out of egg drop soup that day which was a shame. Despite a few little things the delicious food definitely makes it worth checking out.

My husband ordered the BBQ Pork Lo Mein, and picked Wonton for his small soup. I picked the Chicken Chop Suey, Hot and Sour Soup. They also included a (huge) veggie egg roll and hot tea which was great! The portion size was a lot larger than what I was expecting... Which is awesome! The restaurant was packed, everyone knows a good deal when they see it. They had lots of people stopping in and picking up orders too. Will definitely be back!

To clear things up about their dining area, they have 2 small tables outside and 1 small and 2 big tables inside. Small tables - 2 chairs. Big tables - 4 chairs. On weekdays, you don't need to make a reservation. On the weekends due to their limited dine in area, I would recommend a reservation to be safe. You can make a reservation through Google/Yelp or phone call. Parking is easy since it's in a strip mall. There is also a 3% charge if you use plastic. Just a note, I tried looking at their food pictures on their website, but it kind of runs slow. Sometimes it would freeze. I think they need to fix it. I would return here to try other items. I would highly recommend ordering off their Malaysian menu instead of the miscellaneous. Don't order orange chicken or General Tao's chicken. Very cringe because you can get that literally anywhere. Get the Malaysian food because it's hard to find in Illinois. The owner is very sweet and the service is attentive. We ordered lor bak, nasi lemak, Hainanese chicken rice, hokkien mee, and kuih talam. Just a FYI, the portions are very generous. For 2 people, I would recommend ordering 2 dishes. Prices are reasonable for what you get. A pot of tea is $6. -lor bak 5 - I highly recommend this appetizer. It has crispy pork sausage with shrimp fritters, beancurd, and cucumber. It comes with two sauces. Everything was delicious. -nasi lemak 5 - I love the chicken rendang. The meat is very tender and it has a deep flavor. You can taste the spices that went into it. -Hainanese chicken rice 3.5 - I gave Penang Malaysian Cuisine a 4 because the rice was delicious. HD's version, the rice was not as moist and flavorful. The chicken was not bad, it's about the same as Penang's. It could be a bit more succulent without the sauces. -hokkien mee 4 - this won't be as tasty as in Malaysia. I liked the big pieces of shrimp, an adequate amount of sliced pork and hard boiled egg. The broth is still very good. If it's your first time having this, I still recommend it. -kuih talam 5 - I would suggest this if you like pandan. It's not sweet. It has a soft and bouncy texture.

I asked for shrimp with garlic sauce but received chicken with garlic sauce instead -- and honestly, it was still amazing. The fried rice wasn't my favorite, and the egg roll was just okay, but overall it was a great experience. This past Thursday, February 19, I decided to order online while on break. I placed my order at 6:05 PM and didn't receive it until 6:55 PM. Unfortunately, the food wasn't quite worth the hour wait. I ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer -- and whatever sauce they use should honestly be bottled and sold because it's that good. For my entrée, I got the Happy Meal (fried shrimp, chicken, and beef with white rice). It came with two free egg rolls since I spent over $20, which was a nice bonus. That said, this particular dish lacked a bit of flavor, and the sweet-and-sour sauce wasn't great. I was definitely disappointed in the wait time during dinner hours. I'll most likely be back, but probably not at peak dinner time -- and I'll be trying something different next time. As for ambience and waiting, make sure your phone is charged because for my wait, the TV was just on standby mode.

I ordered off the lunch menu; both the chicken dish and shrimp were delicious! They serve Fresh and warm food at good prices, plus they have promotions like free egg rolls with min purchase. They also offer a ton of seafood. As I come here more, I am getting to know the family behind the scenes of this place and it feels like home. They only have few tables inside, so best for quick bite or take out. They have very quick service for take out.

On the positive side, the orange dipping sauce stood out--it had a nice fruity flavor, and you can tell they take some pride in it. I'd probably come back to try something else on the menu, but I don't see myself spending $27 on another meal here. The dining room is large with a modern feel. We were there on a Saturday night and it wasn't very busy which was helpful because there only seemed to be one waitress for all the tables. She was friendly and attentive and used a cart to bring things to multiple tables at the same time. We had the Happy Family and broccoli in oyster sauce dishes. Both were good. We of course also ordered the egg rolls which they use peanut butter in. The wonton soup was also good and was my favorite dish. The one thing I did not like was the silverware was the pressed metal type with very thin sides which were uncomfortable to use when trying to cut the broccoli that wasn't quite tender enough for easy cutting. While Yan Yan was good we prefer the Chinese restaurant closer to our home.
