The food was great and very hot still when we picked it up. Quick and easy service. Called in our order

This is a review of my terrible experience in January 2025. When I ordered takeout from here online, I specified in THREE SEPARATE PLACES to not add any eggs to the meal, as I am vegan (see attached screenshot). But after driving home, I was horrified to see that they had put eggs in the fried rice (see attached photo). I immediately called them to complain, expecting that they would either refund or offer to deliver the correct order to my house for free (as I have been in a similar situation before where a restaurant offered to refund or deliver my correct order for free after screwing up and adding dairy to my takeout order). However, they told me that they could not refund my order because I ordered online, and also they refused to deliver the correct order for free (even though I was only 10-minutes driving distance away). They then dismissed my complaint by saying that the fried rice was "only two dolla", not understanding that this is not just a financial issue but a serious ethical issue for me as well. Also, the rest of my meal (Sesame Tofu) was the most mediocre Chinese food I've ever had, so it was not able to redeem this crappy restaurant in any way. Absolutely Chinese absolutely sucks, and I absolutely recommend staying absolutely far away from this place.

Our normal restaurant was packed on a Friday night, so we tried this restaurant based on the reviews. I was surprised that no one was there, since the owner, Jenny and the other people were so nice and our meal was very good and came out very quickly. I will definitely go there again!

We have lived in the area for four years and had tried this restaurant many times. About 6 months ago we had had it. The owner was nasty about something and we were done. So 6 months have gone by and we went back. First of all, the dining room is open for the first time since Covid. Second, the food was INCREDIBLE. Admittedly we only had hot and sour soup, won ton soup, Pot stickers, Mongolian Shrimp and Chicken with Pan Fried Noodles. I swear that everything was shockingly amazing. We spoke to the NEW OWNER for a while and she is really sweet and very accommodating. She and her husband run the show and he is a great chef. I hope people in the area will stop by there. It would be a shame to have this restaurant leave Rolling Meadows.

Great experience this time around. We did delivery on a Saturday night. Food portions were great, food hot, and we even got free almond cookies!

My wife and I was in the area and was craving some Chinese food. We came in and tried the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup and Beef Chop Suey. My wife had the soup and it did not disappoint. The beef was tender and the soup was spicy to help with the cold day. The bok choy was crunchy with was cooked just right. As for the chop suey, I got it with fried noodles for the crunch. It was absolutely delicious! The portion was so big I had some to go. I loved the assortment of veggies and the tender cuts of beef. I would definitely be back again. Looking forward to trying something different!!!

I ordered beef and broccoli but there was no beef in it. I have used them before without any errors in the order.

My wife, her mom, and I were in Chicago to remember my father-in-law's death anniversary, and my sister-in-law chose Chef Ping's, for our party of nine for a Wednesday lunch. Parking is plentiful and the dining area can seat a lot. We got seated at a large round table in the back room, with a large lazy susan (just need to remember to spin it very slowly). We ordered a lot, and the food came out slowly. There was plenty of leftovers for the local folks to have for future meal or two. 3 Shrimp Toast (6 pieces each) - $26.85 - greasy but good, with the shrimp paste being a little sweet (in a good way) Noodle in Black Bean Sauce ($12.50) - this is jja jang myeon, which two of us had the previous night. It was OK, not near the top of the best I've had. Ping's Noodle Soup ($15.50) - the other classic Chinese-Korean dish, this is jjampong, a dish I've had many times. I was the only one to eat it, so ended up being my main dish. It was good, with thick noodles...just wish it had more seafood. Salt & Pepper Smelt ($16.90) - not sure if always available, but this was excellent...my favorite dish and one that I finished once I realized that everybody had their fill. It really depends on the quality of the smelt, which was excellent in this case. It was lightly battered, and carefully deep fried. Other dishes enjoyed by others: 2 Salt & Pepper Prawns - $35.90 - large head-on shell-on prawns fire wokked. Salt & Pepper Tofu ($11.50) - for the vegetarians Chicken Skewers (4) - $8.75 - tender and shareable Walnut Shrimp ($19.90) - mayo with shrimp Young Chow Fried Rice ($12.50) - fried rice is a necessity for our group Mongolian Beef ($17.50) - a classic 2 Sesame Ball (4) - $7 - a great way to finish a meal. 18% tip was automatically added, and service was OK throughout. Our water was kept refilled, and I think hot water was as well. It was a good meal and opportunity to get back together

Both the service and quality of food has gone way down from what they were famous for. The waitress spilled my tea, also dipped her finger in my tea, had no apology or offer to exchange it with a fresh cup. I had to ask her for a fresh cup of tea. Then the other server that brought our entrees spilled my husbands tea and again no offering to getting a fresh cup. We had to ask AGAIN for a fresh cup! While the portions were generous, the quality of all the food has gone way down. The special family recipe of thier shrimp dish Gan Pong is nothing but fried shrimp with dried chili peppers and no flavor. The Hunan spicy beef and chicken appeared to be all globs and sticky because of excessive and over use of corn starch used during the cooking process. This dish didn't have any unique flavor that one would expect. Previously we had experienced a difference in the food, taste and quality and that's what kept us returning. Sadly, after this experience I wouldn't recommend it to anyone or come back! I'd rather stick with Yu's Mandarin than drive to this place! Quality always wins over quantity in my books!

I ordered enough for two, which means I would have something for the next two meals. The restaurant has been around for a while, and it is a stand alone building. The menu, like what you will find in Malaysia - a mixed of Chinese, Malay, and Indian. The service is always prompt. Here's what I ordered: 1) Roti Canai served with Malaysian chicken curry - the curry is unlike Indian curry. This is a typical Malaysian style curry. You take a piece of the crispy yet a little chewy pan fried dough and dipped in this curry broth. That combination will kick off your appetite. 2) Seafood and Tofu clay pot - a mix of fish fillet, squid, shrimp, vegetables and homemade tofu served in a clay pot. The tofu is delicious - crispy outside with soft and silky center - chef's kiss! 3) String bean mixed with balacan - balacan is a Malaysian sambal sauce made with shrimp paste and chili. It has this savory, sweet and lightly spicy flavor mixed with crispy string beans. It was a delightful dinner! There are many other dishes that I'll come back for, especially other dishes with their homemade tofu.

It's been a tough lately since our go to place changed ownership and the quality declined. Hong Kong Restaurant is a small, family owned restaurant in the same strip mall as the Ace Hardware. It's a take out only restaurant, no tables and no seating. The lady is so nice. I called ahead asking how her General Tso's was made with brown sauce or if it was an orange type of sauce. She gave me a good description and mentioning it had some spice to it, but not offensive. It was exactly what my husband wanted. It wasn't overly breaded and the sauce was sweeter, savory with a little heat. He was a happy man. The fried rice had plenty of chicken and cooked well. The portions were huge! I also ordered beef and broccoli Cantonese chow mein. This was delicious! There was so much beef and broccoli, the sauce wasn't salty and went perfect with the chow mein noodles. We ordered egg rolls and crab rangoons too. Both we were good. The wrapper was a little thicker than I prefer, but they were both good. I'm looking forward to trying other dishes on their menu like their egg foo yung. No pics ... hungry teenaged boys dove into the food right away.

We tried a mix across the menu, and what stood out right away was how many dishes can be made vegan, which makes it a great option for vegetarians or mixed groups. A few must-tries for me: * The Thai wrap -- DIY style and easily one of the more fun dishes on the menu * Red curry * Curry fried rice * Basil dish The papaya salad was also really well done and worth ordering. Portions here are generous -- most mains are easily enough for two people, so it works really well if you're sharing across the table. For the amount of food you're getting, pricing felt very reasonable (around $20-30 per person when sharing), which makes it a strong value spot in the suburbs. It's also on Resy, so if you have an Amex Platinum or Gold card, you can use your dining credit here. Overall, a solid pick if you're looking for flavorful Thai food with good portions and plenty of vegetarian-friendly options in the Arlington Heights area.

Overall, I have to say, this food ranks as some of the best Indian food I have had in the Chicagoland area. I was pleasantly surprised considering it's such an unassuming location. They have a mix of South Indian, Punjabi and Indochinese. For our starter, we ordered Gobi Manchurian. This was super flavorful, and had prominent ginger elements. The South Indian options were amazing. The dosa was perfectly cooked and the sambar had an amazing flavor. We were left practically licking our plates. My sister had the rasam vada, which was perfect for a cold night. The chana bhatura was delicious. One piece of advice is they do offer this and all other options with varying spice levels. For the Chana, we ordered a mild for my nephew and medium for me. The medium was pretty hot but the flavors were unmatched. The mild was a bit too sweet for my taste. Other honorable mentions worth trying were the chicken kadai and veg noodles. Probably the only disappointment was the paneer tikka. The flavor was off and almost inedible. Overall, I highly recommend this place for Indian food lovers! I know I will be back.

On my recent first visit, I found the restaurant to be inviting and having a nice ambiance. It was clean and well lit. My party and I had a late dinner. We received good service. We were seated promptly upon arrival. We were served water right away. One of the staff members informed us to scan a QR code to get the menu of the restaurant and place our order from our mobile device directly. We ordered South Indian dishes such as dosas and uttapam. Dosas, for those who may not be familiar, are like savory crepes made from rice batter and uttapam are like savory pancakes made from rice and urad dal (an Indian grain) batter. The uttapams my party ordered were of the onion and chilies kind and came with dipping sides of sambar (lentil and veggie stew) and three chutneys (coconut, peanut, and one other kind that I can't remember). The dosas also came with the same sides. My order was different from the others. I ordered Madurai Kitchen's special dosa made with minced mutton (goat) in spices. I was expecting a traditional dosa with mutton stuffed inside, but no. This dish looked like thick uttapam but smelled like dosa, and it came with a side of curry dal as a dipping side instead of sambar and chutneys. I inquired about it, and one of the staff members said that that's how it served. Strange but cool, I guess. I found my dish to be okay in taste. It lacked a bit of salt, and the flavor wasn't quite what I had expected. I had thought that it would be spicy, but it wasn't. I used the chutneys from other members of my party's dishes for an enhanced tasting experience. The rest of the folks in my party liked their dishes a lot. Their dishes were good. Overall, we had a good experience. The menu pricing is on the expensive side (more than I expected), but the food quality and service were good. If you like South Indian food, then this restaurant is definitely worth checking out. I will be going back to try other menu items.
