It did not disappoint! It was raining so only seating at the counter. It is small, cramped and cozy! The staff are obviously friends and the warmth is felt throughout. They care about their regulars and were really kind to us. There is something about the simplicity of a maid-rite that just feeds the soul. Simple and delicous. It was a memory from my childhood that can't be replaced without the traditional surroundings. The counter, traditional red and white decor and friendly people. Nothing fancy, just comfort. I think they must have had all there workers there today for the opening because there was at least 12 people working. I liked that they actually had a pick up stand set up for online orders its the first time I have seen one of those at a Jersey Mikes. The manager was all over the place helping where he could and even stepped in to make our sandwiches on the grill. My sister and I ordered a chicken philly (16) & big kahuna chicken (55) gluten free allergy. Absolutely wonderful. The only thing I have to say is that the gluten free bread was drier than I am used to and it was falling apart. I also watched someone make a gluten free cold sandwich while I was there and all I could see were bread crumbs all over the counter so I hope there was not too much cross contamination for them.

The paper label on the box says Chicken BigMac--it is a special order. Open the box to find a regular beef Big Mac. How does that get in there when it had a label on the outside? So now I have to go back, ask for a replacement to get what I ordered and wait...wait...wait. Summary: Sandwich--good. It does slide out of the bun with that sauce. Not a drive-and-eat sandwich at all. Will have another. Counter service--excellent Kitchen Service--really? How do you mess it up when you have a label on the box? Finally, a very nice woman apologized for the wait and took my credit card order. When the ticket time exceeded twelve minutes (plus the five minutes waiting, so 17 minutes in total) I asked for the manager and complained to him calmly and politely saying it was his failure, not the employees that it had taken so long. He became defensive and accused me in an obnoxious, angry voice of being a problem customer and that he didn't have to take my criticism. He was not wearing a name tag and refused to give his name. Shame on him for his unprofessional demeanor that reflects on McDonald's. With no name tag the only way to identify this dolt was that he was about 30 male and had a birthmark on his left wrist. With McDonald's prices having risen to crazy heights, I will not go back. There are too many places within a two block radius that serve food faster, of better quality and do so without yelling at me.

There were plenty of tables available in the dining room, with small stacks from previous diners still on the table (they clear for you), so not really a problem. Our food was very hot and fresh, and they add seasoning that is very tasty. I'd just had a similar sandwich a few days prior at a full-service bar, and this one was leaps and bounds better.
