Overall, had a pretty good dinner. It was quick and the employees were fun/nice. The best part were their chicken fingers! They always come out hot and fresh so it was same thing tonight. They also have a nice outside patio to enjoy your dining there. They were doing a good job keeping everything clean and pretty during a busy time which was nice. I just wish their fries were crispy/hot and fresh like their chicken :( They were edible and alright but they were not great nor did it allow me to ring the 4/5 stars. Maybe next time. read more

Oh my. Where to start? I had seen this chain in Des Moines and thought it might be a nice addition to the list of fast food options for the fam. Unfortunately, this will be a no. I ordered a basic box, which comes with four chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast and cole slaw. The chicken fingers were ok - not much flavor unless you dip them in their sauce. The fries were pretty basic and nothing special. The toast was pale and flabby, with no detectable garlic flavor. The cole slaw was rancid. Honestly, the best thing about the meal was the coke with their "signature" crushed ice (but what the heck is signature ice?). The younger offspring, who loves chicken tenders/nuggets ate only one of the two fingers in the kids box. They haven't offered an opinion verbally, but that says plenty. The staff were fine, although it took longer to get our food at the window than I was expecting. We also had hoped to go inside, but the dining area was closed, with nothing indicating that anywhere, just locked doors. Not impressed, not going back. read more

Not my thing. Actually not my entire families thing. I ate at the location in Des Moines and wasn't impressed but decided I would give this new location on my town a chance. Nope. 2 star rating stands. First the drive thru in this location is screwed up. You have to drive all the way around the building to get to the drive thru order speaker, then pick up your food and drive a second time around the building to exit the parking lot. I didn't come here to make laps. Second the staff is not very friendly. Not rude just void of all excitement about working, greeting customers or helping people quickly. Third the food is not great. Not even good. I've made better chicken strips from the grocery store frozen food department. The chicken strips are tender.... and that's it. They are bland (really bland) and are not crispy. The garlic bread is lightly (barely) toasted on one side and so doughy it's off putting, the Cole slaw is standard (honestly the most edible item in my meal), the fries lack salt or any type of personality and the lemonade is ok (all 4 drinks of it in my cup because it was 90% ice). Don't get me started on the Cane's sauce! It's horrible. I can't even describe what spice is in it that is so overpowering and it makes it inedible. And I like sauces. But no! Even my 7 year old said the food was bad. We won't be back. Nothing special here. Keep driving. read more

First off, I hate Yelp. Some of you people shouldn't be given the right to have an opinion. All of the negative reviews are pretty much subjective and if you don't like the Cane Sauce I don't even want to know you. I don't need employees to fake-smile at me in order for me to feel good about myself. The chicken is tender and juicy and the sauce makes me happy. The interior decor is eclectic and I love that they pay homage to the Cedar Valley. The food is prepared quickly and the place always seems clean and well maintained. You poor things, you have to drive your fat lazy ass around the building twice to pick up your food that you a) didn't have to cook 2) didn't have to do dishes after cooking 3) didn't have to walk to get 4) most likely will eat in your vehicle. Go home and make your own food and stop complaining. You are a bunch of fun ruiners. read more

1. . Chicken is alright. If I had to choose between this or Chick-fil-A I'd go to Waterloo for Chick-fil-A or go to the Chick-fil-A trailer in the Blains Farm & Fleet in their parking lot. 2. Limited seating. Went in there on 17March2019 and you had to hold your food and wait for a table...but this is still during the "new place, let's try it" phase. 3. The chicken fingers were pretty good they held the fries too long and they were Stone Cold. what's the part that really stuck in my throat and left a bad taste in my mouth was when at the window I apparently had the audacity you ask for a extra condiment whereupon I was informed that would be an extra $0.40. apparently $8.25 or the order was not sufficient to allow for one lousy extra condiment. We had a problem with our food it went bad but the customer service was OUTSTANDING! After filing a complaint we received a phone call with an apology. They were so kind and helpful. Called ahead trying to warn we had a bus coming through making sure it was okay (an hour before said close at 10). We were told "Sounds good thank you" but once we showed up the doors were locked and were told that we couldn't be served because they were getting to close? Very limited menu: (Chicken Strips, Fries, Toast, Cole Slaw) I liked the toast. The cole slaw was good. The chicken strips were ok. The fries were not worth mentioning. The terribly bitter Cane's sauce was definitely nothing to boast about. Since there are literally no other options, I had to eat the chicken plain. No options on the chicken, only fried strips. No options on sauces, only nasty Cane's sauce. If you are going to have a limited menu, at least do that one thing well. read more

What a disappointment. This used to be my favorite spot in the CV. I came here at least once a week, usually more. Recently I went and I noticed they had completely changed. The chicken was totally different, tasted much cheaper, more chewy and a lot less delicious. Not only that but the bun is completely different as well! They switched to a cheap burger bun AND started putting them in a wrapper. Literally couldn't be more of a Popeyes rip off. Go back to the way you used to be canes. read more

Drive thru is odd, noting like driving around the building twice. Not a lot of options which I guess can be good or bad. When I pulled up to pay staff wasn't very friendly and when I asked if they had ranch the lady said," we will never have ranch! It's not complementary", I guess she meant to the chicken fingers. Um it's fried food, ranch goes with that, but whatever. Anyways got home and it was bland, the fries were bland, I took a small bite of the lightly toasted bread and it didn't have much taste. For all the hype this place got before they opened it was a sure let down. I will be glad to drive to Chick fil a anyday of the week ( except Sunday they are closed) to get better tasting chicken and better service. Hope things change for them!! read more
