Part of the three item combo ..chow mein only, firecracker shrimp, Angus beef

I have openly said that the best fast food Chinese eatery is Panda Express. It also opens at 9:30 am, a convenient time to pick up lunch in advance, when running morning chores. Recently though, I had an interesting experience. I ordered on line and picked up about 15-20 minutes after they opened. My order was for greens (instead of chow mein or fried rice), angus beef (extra charge) and Kung Pao chicken. When it was time to eat lunch around noon, the beef was chewy, tough and way over cooked with some pieces burnt. The chicken was also dry. What happened? I called to speak with the manager. Did I get the left over or bottom pan remnants from the previous day? The manager assured me that was not the case. Then why was everything so dry? She invited me to come the next day for a replacement meal, at no charge. I purposely chose to get there around 11 am, so that the eatery was up and running and there was batch turnover. Ordered on site. Everything was looking good. Got chow mein, the Kung Pao Chicken and the Firecracker shrimp. At lunch time, all of it tasted so much different, moist, fresh and tasteful. The hallmark of good customer service is to go one step further. In this department, Panda Express delivered, with flying colors.

How in the world does the fork break when I stuck it into the white rice. Flavors on all items were definitely off today. Drink station was sticky. Yes they greeted me when I walked in but I didn't get the same vibes at the counter. Seemed very rushed and not friendly. 14th of October 2025: my last review this location was hanging on with 2 stars but not it's got to be 1 star. I won't be returning till 2026 so hope you make some improvements to your friendliness and make some softer white rice.

I've been to this location a bunch of times the last few months, because of the promo code for $5 (thank you dodgers win !). Two item combo. Otherwise I, I feel their pricing is high . I order on the app, and they always have it ready. You walk straight to the cash register area (no , don't need to wait in line ) They are very helpful, and I'm always in and out. (No pun on in n out hamburger join, hahaha) Quality is good, I can't disagree.

Gotta update my review since it's been a while since my last. Have to say since I shifted to online ordering everything has been great. Order online, pay online, get a "ready by" time and show up and it's generally always ready. It's convenient, efficient and the employees are always helpful and pleasant.

Writing a review for a "Panda Express" is kinda absurd but I just had to give this location a shout after today. This is my go-to location, the employees are always kind and efficient, and the food is always solid. Today they gave me a particularly abundant plate and I was really happy about that.

My partner got the Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup, which was flavorful and comforting. We both grabbed sodas with our meals, and I appreciated that they had Sunkist. You don't see that at many places, and I love a good orange soda. The portions were generous, everything was fresh, and the flavors delivered. Service was great, too. The person at the front was super attentive, and I liked the mobile ordering station near the register. For anyone searching this spot on Yelp, just a heads-up that it's located inside the Northridge Mall. It's definitely worth checking out if you're craving some good noodles and dumplings. I'll for sure be back.

Very honest opinion: Not sure if I'm eating the same food as everyone else leaving reviews here,…read morebut I got the signature beef (Lanzhou) noodle soup combo and it was incredibly disappointing~mediocre. Server guy was chill. The food is served in a paper bowl, unlike the nice bowls you see in their pics. Tl;dr: if you're curious, don't waste your time, bafang is open 5min away Preface: I KNOW it's mall food, but for a restaurant that continuously pops up as #1 on Yelp whenever I search for food around the northridge/chatsworth area, I'm going to treat it as if it were a #1 spot. Beef noodle soup: to be very blunt, this was quite flavorless. The beef was dry as bones and looked like it was sliced with a mandoline. The noodles seemed undercooked and it felt like I was eating al dente spaghetti noodles. I got a medium spice level which didn't even seem that spicy, just a lot of cough inducing chili oil with no burn. Pan fried dumplings were ok. It honestly tasted like it was deep fried and not pan fried. Unsweetened black tea: hands down the best of the 3 things in the combo, which is quite telling. Honestly you get a decent amount of food for $15. But to constantly take the top 5 for recommended on Yelp in this area and waste my time to even look at it, it definitely doesn't belong remotely close to top 10.

We had another Chinese food choice and afterwards, we wished we had chosen the other place. This restaurant is a dumpy little joint located in a truly gross strip mall. That being said, there were plenty of people eating there, and people getting take out. So, for the area, I guess this is considered one of the better places if you don't feel like driving far. They had a new item - NY style egg rolls. As a New Yorker ex-pat, I take these very seriously and look for them all the time. Unfortunately, these were chicken. You know things are going wrong at a Chinese restaurant when the egg rolls and pot stickers are chicken instead of pork. Clearly catering to people who are not Chinese food aficionados. The egg rolls were edible but in no way good. The pot stickers were meh and the size of gyoza rather than potstickers. We got the chicken with garlic sauce and the kung pao shrimp and begged them to make them extra, extra, extra spicy. As in all non-Asian areas of town, the waitresses' eyes went wide as if we didn't know what we were asking for, but she said okay. Sure enough, both dishes came and were not only not at all spicy but completely bland. I mean super, duper bland. It has nothing to do with my rating or my meal, but watching a family at the table next to us trying to eat mu shu pork and not knowing how to eat a simple age old dish like that was somewhat frightening or amusing or both. I don't know. It was like watching a train wreck in slow motion and I was captivated. Anyway, bottom line is I actually like Americanized Chinese food and even crave it sometimes to mix it up from the standard SGV authentic stuff. This just is not a good place and reminded me of all the horrible Chinese restaurants I tried throughout LA when I first moved here from NYC back in 1994. Can't recommend. Don't go.

I came for lunch with my family and it wasn't too crowded Sunday at 12:30 pm when we came, though slowly a couple more groups trickled in while we were there. They offer lunch/dinner specials that are great if you don't want to share. For $12-13 at lunch, you can get your choice of entree + rice + egg roll + soup/salad. Portions are very generous too! One person got the Szechuwan chicken lunch special for $12 and wasn't able to finish the chicken. The rest of us shared a couple dishes off the regular menu: #102 Combination seafood ($23) #620 Fish with black bean sauce ($18) #804 Szechuwan shredded pork ($15) 3 bowls of rice ($1.75 each) Of the three dishes, we liked the seafood and fish the best. They were more savory than sweet, though they were still quite sweet. I didn't like the shredded pork at all as it was much sweeter than the other two. Portions for everything were generous and we took the remaining 1/3 of the food home for lunch the next day.
