    Orange chicken & chowmein

Ordered chowmein with my chicken. But ended up with more onions/cabbage than anything. After I picked some out I only had 1/4 of my bowl left. So gross

Pepper Steak and Kung Pao Chicken

It's fast food and it isn't supposed to be super duper. But, I always like the taste! The manager here at night is brutal. I would list his name, but he always has it covered up with his apron. He micro-manages everything including the customer. They had the Pepper Beef labeled with a Crisp Chile Shrimp sticker and the bowl was empty. I made the comment to a female worker that was waiting on me that it didn't look like shrimp. Well, the manager immediately stepped in feint of her to point out that there were labels at the top. I pointed right back to the sticker and said, well it says shrimp and there is no shrimp anywhere close to that bowl. He said, well we have nowhere else to put the sticker. His initial response was very condescending and he could have said it a lot nicer. I am in there about once a week and he is ALWAYS a butt to customers and employees alike. Cannot hardly stand to go there when he is there. Ruins everything. That said, the taste was as I expected.

Plate with Orange Chicken for the Entree and Half Fried Rice and Half Steamed Vegetables for the Side

New to Fort Smith, plenty of room for improvement. The drive thru line was backed out onto the street so I decided to go inside. There were approximately 10 people in front of me. It took me 24 minutes from entering the restaurant to receive my food. The employees were super friendly. Unfortunately the fried rice kept running out forcing them to stop fulfilling orders. The drive thru line continued to be served while the patrons inside waited longer. As for the food, I was pretty disappointed. The fried rice looks great in the picture, but tasted burned like the scrapped bits from the wok in each bite (not like the delicious crunchy rice at the bottom of the pot). The steamed vegetables were warmed thru but way too hard, almost raw. The orange chicken had a good flavor and was tender; however, it was cold due to the long wait time for the fried rice.

    Small is very small.

The food is only average for Chinese food menu... Mushy breading, overcooked rice, and to top it off the "small" entree is just slightly bigger than the fortune cookie. Many places better and better priced.

They have a variety on their menu! Back in Texas I've always wanted to try Papaya Salad luckily I got to try it here for the first time. My plate consisted of papaya salad, wings, and sticky rice. Wings cooked to perfection, great crunch simple no sauce mixed in. I dipped the wings in a chili not spicy whatsoever. The papaya salad you had the option to choose the Lao or Thai style: I went with the Lao style which had shrimp paste a little more pungent. Loved it, it was refreshing and spicy to my likings. I was able to choose how many peppers to add. Two peppers were enough for me, not crazy spicy just enough for me. Definitely worth for what you pay for because there portions were HUGE. Volcano chicken was great, not too spicy and had a sauce with different chilies. The Pad Kee Mao had so much flavor to it. I ordered a combination which had chicken, beef, pork, and shrimp. Loved the thick noodles, bunch of veggies to which is a great balance. Topped it off with some sriracha for some extra kick. Overall, I could tell this place made the food with love. Our waitress was super nice and helpful! In the future once I'm back in this area I'd love to try more off their menu.

You can probably snag a table if you are a little early or a little late, missing the 12 o'clock diners. As far as the parking, just try to squeeze in somewhere. You may have to park across the street. Don't be discouraged, you have to eat here. The food is fantastic! Starting with ...... The best egg drop soup I have ever had anywhere! Bright, freshly made, a noticeable egg yok flavor, smooth, filled with strands of egg white. Big crispy wonton strips on the side provide a satisfying crunch. Mouthwatering deliciousness! I got the Orange Chicken lunch special. A plate full of fried chicken breast chunks, bathed in sauce that was orange in color and very orange in flavor. Fried rice and a good egg roll. It was great. My wife got the winning meal; Ultimate Fried Rice. And Ultimate it was. Fried rice with big shrimp, chicken, beef and pork. I tasted of each of the meats. The beef and the pork were my favorites. My wife liked the shrimp. I thought the beef was delicious. Very nice lean cuts of beef, with a flavor like home made pot roast. The pork was of equal quality. The Ultimate Fried Rice is recommended. Ft Smith has many fine Asian restaurants. Asian Kitchen Express was recognized a few years ago as one of the top Asian carry out restaurants. Whether you eat in or grab food to go from this very small shop, it is one of the best in Ft Smith. Friendly service and great food.

Egg roll was fine but, wonton soup was a bit odd because the wontons are fried but the broth was very good. The star was the Super Bowl. Roasted chicken, fried shrimp and some braised beef on top of noodles, onions and cabbage. Seems to me like home cooking and it was delicious! I will try to stop in every time I come through town. Fort Smith is super lucky to have this place and I would love to have it in Memphis.

It is advisable to visit the restaurant's Facebook page before you go to the restaurant. It will save time and save your neck, from trying to read the menu that is mounted up on the wall. There are helpful pictures on one of the walls. Order and pay at the counter. The food is delivered to the table. My wife had the Chinese Chicken. Stewed chicken pieces smothered in a seasoned gravy over a big pile of rice with a little cabbage on the side. The gravy tasted like it may have been seasoned with Chinese Five Spice. The meat was good and it tasted fine, but overall boring and not recommended. I had the Super Bowl. All the meats on this bowl were good. Bright red Char siu style chicken, good tender beef slices, and excellent tempura fried shrimp. All stacked on a big pile of rice noodles with a few slices of cabbage on the side. The noodles were in a sweet brown sauce that I didn't care for. The fried shrimp is delicious and recommended. The food is not impressive enough to get me back in the restaurant or even recommend it over some of the other excellent Asian restaurants In Ft. Smith. Diamond Head 2, a version of average Chinese food. Then there are these repurposed flip top Parmesan cheese containers (think Kraft Parmesan cheese bottles.) There are one or two of them on every table filled with a nasty looking sauce concoction. The top of the bottles are open, and they have a spoon stuck in them to serve yourself up whatever that is inside. You would have to be a brave soul to actually use the sauce. I'm surprised this gets past the health department.
