It's Panda Express - quick, convenient, and decently priced. For a chain that I used to frequent at a Mills mall thirty years ago, I'd say it's still good for what it is. The food is generally pretty fresh (as in just cooked) and there are plenty of options. I do not like this location for online orders because they had some hiccups the last few times I ordered online. Wait time, missing order, and less food than normal were the three issues I experienced. So the next time I decided to go in and order and had a great visit. Cassidy was the one who greeted me and made our plates. She was super friendly and did not skimp on the entrees. Then Benni was the one at the register and he was also wonderful. This is just a run of the mill Panda Express. The parking was ample at about 11:30am. Surprisingly there was no line. The place was extremely clean and the pans of food were full and steaming. The woman immediately greeted my husband and I. She worked quickly and gave a lot of food. I ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp, Sweet Fire chicken and chow mein. My husband ordered Teriyaki Chicken and Orange chicken with white rice. Everything was good for the most part. I enjoyed my meal, it was done well without any of the batter falling off of the shrimp (which I get sometimes). No complaints. My husbands' teriyaki chicken is thigh. It was very fatty and virtually impossible to eat because of the slimy/fat. He ended up throwing that away. He said that the white rice seemed to have been sitting and wasn't very pleasurable. It has been awhile since I've gone to this location, but when I went tonight I had good food but a very poor experience with the staff that has soured my thought of The Panda Express on Stringtown Road. I ordered a bowl with white rice and sesame chicken. The employee who served me--Sydney--a young girl with blonde hair in a pony tail, was the rudest staff member I have ever experienced. On my bowl she gave me 4 pieces of chicken that were extremely tiny so I simply requested to have a little bit more on my bowl. She gave me this horrendous dirty look and argued with me saying that that's all she can give me and that I need to be satisfied with what I have. After bickering with her back and forth she still would not listen to the customer and I had to get a manager. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful, she provided me with the adequate amount of chicken that should be on the bowl. Sydney needs to be taught how to properly act with customers instead of being caught up with her self righteous attitude. read more

We opted for Panda Express catering this time and we were all impressed with every aspect of the meal. The website was easy to navigate and ordering was a breeze. Made a yelp account just so I could let people know how terrible the customer service is here. If you order online, get there 15 minutes after your food is expected to be ready. And don't expect the staff to be friendly about them being delayed with your food either. Oh, and if you talk to the manager, you'll understand exactly why the staff gets away with the laziness they do. It shouldn't be too much to ask, for people to not have to stand in line for 10 minutes when they order online 15 minutes in advance. I understand COVID has affected many businesses productivity; however, if managed correctly service could be provided that does not deter customers. This place is not managed well at all and is losing money by the second due to poor service and apparently management is fine with it. After beginning my week in Columbus with a particularly unsatisfying visit to what was described as "the best Chinese restaurant in Columbus," I rationalized, "how bad can Panda Express be?" Having only eaten at an airport location or two, this chain of Sino-American fast food eateries couldn't possibly be any worse. Like a favorite saying of a former boss, "you can't fall off of the floor," expectations were minimal. Fortunately, Panda Express didn't reach the nadir of Sunday's dinner; but came mighty close. None of this introduction should leave the reader with an impression that the food at Panda Express is good, only that is less atrocious, and less expensive. Bland, prepared in trough-sized quantities, then left under heat lamps until served, no points are won for kitchen proficiency. The cafeteria-style counter service was so laden with malignant attitudes and "we're doing you a favor" customer service philosophy that two families simply walked out, before being served. Everyone else was turning to complete strangers at adjacent tables, whispering, "did you hear what she just said?" Equally surprising was the response from one couple; "stick around, it happens all the time." And yet, through it all, Panda Express was still a better experience than the horrific food and mediocre service roughly across the street. Curiosity-turned-morbid was barely averted this time. Face-to-face with the steam table trays of Panda Express foods, I opted for two upcharge entrees ($1.50 extra each): Five Flavor Shrimp and Shanghai Angus Steak, with fried rice and an eggroll. The eggroll, was served with canned duck sauce (rather than hot mustard), wasn't particularly tasty, but wasn't greasy or offensive. At the other end of the spectrum, the steak had faint flavor notes of black pepper. It was relatively good, even if the accompanying vegetables and sauce were insipid. The shrimp dish wasn't at all generous with its featured ingredient, and lacking in depth; not good, but, in the relativistic terms of this review, not bad either. As for the fried rice, it was overcooked, flavorless and boring-- nothing more than a cheap plate-filler. I have no ambition of ever setting foot in another Panda Express, but in fairness, I've lived a generally happy life with having only eaten in their airport locations. This time the location was only a short walk from my motel, and I was more concerned with fundamental sustainace, then getting a good night's sleep. read more

The portion size is not huge like other restaurants, but it's fast food. I got the Black Pepper Chicken, fried rice, and an chicken egg roll. It had a good amount of pepper flavor. The fried rice was a touch on the dry side, but nothing that a little soy sauce couldn't fix, and the chicken egg roll had the nice wonton crunch on the outside and a delicious mix of cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, green onions and chicken on the inside. I was traveling and got a 2 item plate. The Sweetfire chicken was the only thing that was actually decent. The steak, which came with an up charge, was OK at best. As for the fried rice, ordered because Lo Mein would not be ready for some time, I have made better in a frying pan in my own kitchen, was less than good. I ate some of it and threw the rest away. Likely will not try another quick serve Chinese again. Ironically, my favorite local place can have nearly the entire menu available for pick up in less that 15 minutes. I found the food simple and tastey. Nothing shocking or amazingly different but overall not bad. Dropped by for carry out so not sure what others mention of it being cold. Was still hot when I got to sit down and eat 10 min later. What made me pleased was the service. Not pushy on suggestive sell, offered suggestions and samples and exceptionally friendly, all from the cashier alone. There is not a Hugh selection of food but most of everyones favorites with some others. I always get the kung pao chicken, Beijing beef and garlic chicken.
